(hello i here and not reading all that)
Honestly, Princecharming had not been paying attention to the conversation after Duskslayer spoke to her. What was SHE talking about? Her? When they've been planning this for moons? When she's poured her heart and soul into this production. And for what?! For her co-director to not even remember her? Blaspheme it right to her face? Say it wasn't even official business?
Maybe if she paid attention to the conversation, she could have realized Duskslayer was acting differently, but anger took her over. Prince was hardly ever angry, it was a new emotion that made her hair stand on end. To be disrespected like this. She thought their partnership was going okay, that this would be a smash hit, that maybe not all toms were bad. Clearly, she was wrong to hold that hope. As soon as Autumn's paw was off Duskslayer's maw, her own smacked him on the other side. Though she made sure it hurt, harsh enough for both she-cats as she shook the orange fur off of her claws. "You." Princecharming's eyes teared up, sniffling as she turned away from the group. "If that's how you feel, then don't bother dragging yourself here for another practice or opening night. This show will be a success... without you." For a moment, her shoulders hunched in defeat as she began to walk back to camp.
Bloodystar lifted a paw as if to strike Autumngossamer back, but thought better of it and instead dug his claws into the earth. Autumngossamer slapping another cat? A daily occurrence for sure. But Duskslayer doing it? Heresy! While his cover had been blown in conversation, there were several DayClan cats watching at a safe distance, and he couldn't allow himself to be captured here of all places for going so far out of character.
"Funny how someone like you who thinks herself so high and mighty finds the best way to settle her disagreements is violence and murder. To this day I have never killed a cat nor have I had a paw in plotting one's death: Can you say the same?" His eyes flashed back to Gingersnap. He looked emotionally drained but still fierce, an ember that just needed more kindling to ignite, "Your mother is manipulative and dangerous. She has the ability to bring all of her whims to life and still paints herself as the victim. If you think that spending time with her in DayClan is conductive for your education as a Janus, then I will not stop you from doing so... just know that it disappoints me and is an insult to the Sun God."
"Dapplebreeze." Bloodystar pulled away from Autumngossamer and padded back toward the young Janus, "Let's go."
