Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
This thread takes place immediately after the events in "Chasing the Sun" [LINK] and "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" [LINK]. In "Chasing the Sun," Bloodystar announced that he is going to execute DayClan's leader, Glowstar, but is interrupted by an invasion by the Fire Nation (the DayClan, NightClan, Primal Instinct, Renegade Regime and Fire Gang alliance, although RR is not present at the raid). A vicious battle breaks out but the opposing forces are quickly chased out. In "O Brother, Where Art Thou?," the Renegade Regime breaks into the prisons and free all of the prisoners, guiding them to DayClan for treatment and freedom.
Presently it has become clear that the Fire Nation has not left the territory and have instead surrounded the camp, specifically the tunnel that leads in and out. No cat is able to leave. Bloodystar calls this meeting to have a discussion among the leadership (Janus, Senate, etc) of SunClan about what their next step should be. All of the Clan is present, so if you want to interrupt, do it!
It was a disaster. Some cats had been kidnapped, some wounded, some even murdered. The Clan was in disarray. Kits were screaming for their parents, apprentices were complaining of empty stomaches, and Warriors were starring blankly ahead, their spirits crushed. Nothing wounded Bloodystar's pride more than allowing such a large scale invasion in the heart of SunClan territory. Worse yet, he didn't have the resources left to deal with it.
"SunClan, you fought bravely!" Bloodystar called from atop the leader's ledge, it was not a very formal meeting but the Janus and Senate were all in place below him, Duskslayer at his side, "An attack of such scale is unprecedented, but we were ready, and the Sun God let us borrow his strength and led us to victory. However... Of the patrol I sent to scout the tunnels, only two cats returned. It seems that they intend to starve us into surrendering."
Bloodystar was beginning to look positively feral, and blood splatters across his face and chest further fueling the image of an evil tyrant that he had no idea he was becoming, "They will not let us bury our dead, gather herbs to heal our wounded or even feed our kits. They are so afraid of us that they choose the coward's way. I must tend to the wounded right now with the few resources that I have, for many are still fighting the cruelty of the Fire Nation as we speak, but we need to plan our next steps now before they have a chance to regroup. Duskslayer lead this discussion until I can get the wounded stabilized."
He took a step back for his Priest Promised to take his place, resting his tail gently on his shoulder before padding back into his den to tend to the wounded that were placed there.
Duskslayer stared at Bloodystar the entire time. Sometimes he wished Bloodystar had no followers, so no one could stop him if he tried to force Bloodystar to leave to get him the help he needed for his mental state. Other days he wanted to relentlessly support his friend, make things work, bring him the help he needed. His mom used to talk about evil like it were a sickness. She pitied them, wished them well, held their paw through the misery of it all. He watched his friend waste away, everyday sicker than the last as the corruption wore on his heart.
His paw reached out for the priest stopping him as he turned whispering into his ear, "I love you, take care of yourself to," He said quietly. The words were nothing special, but the weight they had on his heart tore him up inside more than Bloodystar would ever know. His turquoise eyes followed after the priest longing to turn him around and force an honest conversation, but he wasn't going to stall someone's medical attention for drama.
He inhaled a breath before stepping forward, "When you're an initiate a fire burns over your sunflower with approval, when you're born a SunClan cat you don't know it, but there's a fire in you, same as an initiate. They have us surrounded, we have no Sun God, not the way we used to, but we all have a fire inside of us hotter than the sun. If there's one thing we all have that the other clans will never, it's undeniable faith. Let your faith have more weight in every strike you make in this fight than your claws. I will address any concerns each of you have," Duskslayer promised the clan.

Romancefable winced as he stood, his leg nearly buckling from the deep wounds his mate had inflicted upon him as he tried to hold her back from the battle "and what of the queens as kits? Are was supposed to just stand by and watch as they slowly waste away?" he was angry, his white tail lashing from one side to the other "We can't just sit here like mice ready for slaughter, the longer we wait the more our strength will wane once our food and herbs are gone. What is your plan?" his fur bristled out, but it was clear that this was all out of concern rather than anger from the way he kept glancing at the nursery Faith
Duskslayer shifted his paw along the ground in an anxious motion at the question. Sandstone. He then turned around and felt the walls of the gorge. He closed his eyes as he tried to remember back to the Regime. Rocks were important to his dad Sean, if Duskslayer it was anything it was a firm listener. He picked up on how to identify rocks, listened to every "fun" fact about them so what did he know about sandstone?
He began to pace in thought as he spoke out loud, "Sandstone has gasses behind them sometimes. There are solids like a rock, liquid like water and then if there's gas that means that there can be space behind sandstone. Our camp is full of tunnels because sandstone traditionally can have space around it, which means," He paused looking back at Romancefable with a shine in his eyes, "it's not unreasonable that there's another way out." racer
Layne sat towards the back, looking through her left eye. Her right one was currently caked with blood from some league rat. While she could clean it off, she was leaving it there because it matched her mood. How dare anyone even think to attack SunClan in their home? The rest of her wound were not too severe, painful but would heal. If there was any way that she could go attack those guarding the entrance and survive, she would in a heartbeat. Though she was not a full member yet, at this moment no one would be able to drag her away from this meeting. The brown tabby was just spoiling for a good fight.

Scorchedwhisker had been condemned to the abandoned den of their non-existent soothsayer. His ear hurt the least, and the v-shaped nick had scabbed over. His eye had been a bit more severe. The siamese tom still had a hard time seeing out of it, most of the images coming across as blurry or dark whenever he was able to open it. The warrior tried not to open it too often. Whenever he did he would feel nothing but pain as the scab broke open once more from the action, which in turn caused a small trickle of blood to flow down into the appendage. He curled a lip at the thought of losing his sight in that eye. He prayed to the Sun and Moon god that they would spare him of that. But the worst wound of all had been the one on his neck. That freak of a cat had made a mess of the tender flesh. The siamese tom could hardly speak, and if he did his voice came out in a harsh rasp. The cream colored tom had begun flexing his claws as he listened to Duskslayer. A feeling of dread settled in his gut. To him, it seemed like nothing but the end for Sunclan.
"But... that can take a long time..." Rabbitsfury had said softly as he sat next to his half brother. Silverdragon sat tall despite everything that had happened. Many of his clanmates already looked defeated and weary. But he would not. The gray tom nodded his head at his brother's words, glancing at him from the corner of his eyes.
"It may indeed." Silverdragon said softly. He looked back up towards Duskslayer. "If this is possible, how do we know that it will work? Not to mention the time it would take. By the time the tunnel is complete we may end up loosing half the clan to starvation." Faith
Raypaw couldn't have been bored more by all these talks about what to do. It was a freaking picked so there was one way in and one way out. If there was another way, someone would have found it a long time ago and this wouldn't be an issue. They were gonna be in this place for the long haul or they were gonna charge out of the tunnels and break the line. Either way, Raypaw knew what she needed: food. While everyone else was focused on Duskslayer, she slunk to the scattered remain of the fresh-kill pile and took one of the mice on top. She immediately started to wolf it down, despite it having a rather unusual taste. A bit bitter and sour, but it didn't smell bad or anything like that, so she just assumed it was blood or something like that.
"We're not digging tunnels, we're finding one. You can choose how history tells our story, I'd prefer it that if our story is ending this way that they tell of how hard we fought to survive. Not waiting around hungry for our demise. As long as we're trapped and as long as they're out there we're going to have to find a way because there's no other options except hoping for the best," Duskslayer said.
With that Duskslayer pulled out a jade stone he had kept on him typically for his old Jadedarling character. With one quick strike he jammed it hard into the stone thrusting his paw into the wall as he searched for another way out. Not to mention if they were going to be defeated he'd rather it hurry up and happen.
"Don't you think we should save some for the kits and elders?" Faithpaw asked as the calico approached Raypaw.

Another way out. It made sense. Huntleigh lightly tapped on the wall behind him, it almost sounded hollow to his ears. He wasn't supposed to be here. Snuck in to get any sort of information he could. Anything to tear Duskslayer down. Even when they were torn down, there were so many Sunclan cats that he just faded into the background. No one should recognize him. He just needed to find this exit before they did.
"Ehh..." Raypaw glanced up to meet Faithpaw in the eye. "Shut up goodie two-shoes. If we don't eat it, the food's gonna go bad." She took another large bite out of the mouse and pushed it towards Faithpaw. "Here, it's even got some battle spice on it. Maybe some blood or something, I dunno. I just can't get the taste out of my mouth." She spat on the ground, and the taste still lingered. Her head then began to throb. It wasn't sudden, but each heartbeat made it get worse and worse. "You know what, you can have it." She stood up and walked a few paces away before abruptly sitting back down. The world was spinning. Or she was spinning? Faith

Romancefable nodded, it sounded like a decent enough of a plan in their current situation. Better than sitting around doing nothing, but he turned his head as a small gray cat sauntered up to Duskslayer
Desertpaw wasted no time "THATS IT?!?!?!" the little tom had managed to stay out of most of the fighting, choosing to throw stones from up above "Your plan is to look for an exit that may or may not exist? Sure we can do that, but shouldn't YOU be making other preparations? I say if they are going to fight dirty, then we fight back even dirtier. This is our home and we know it way better than they do" he pointed towards the tunnel "We know they are going to come through there. I say lets give them a nice warm SunClan welcome!!!" his lip curled upwards as his mind swirled with possibilities some of his ideas better than others "We don't have to wait here like mice in a sandstorm, if they want to attack our camp, let them. We will be waiting, let them take themselves out"Faith
"Great input Desertpaw, only, I'm one of the only cats who really knows how to dig through the sandstone and how to find possible hollow walls from my time in the Regime so I have to lead this," Duskslayer said before groaning, "You're right though, someone needs to be preparing our clan, not hoping to get out of this. I really hate to burden you Desertpaw, but do you think you can lead the war preparations. I know, it's unheard of, but I think you're warrior material, you're ready for this. I need you to be Chief Desert until this is over, rally the troops, strategize. I'll need you to run things through me though or your off the force, is that understood, Chief Desert?"
"SunClanners..." Faithpaw thought as Raypaw lashed out on her, instead she turned her head and to do a double take as she spotted her brother Huntleigh-tyke or no, he must be a cadet by now. What if he heard she was in trouble and came to help save her and Willowby-tyke. Carefully sneaking over to Huntleigh without looking obvious she sat in front of him. To most Huntleigh looked like a shadow on the wall, but after moons of playing games with him she had learned to pay attention to the shift of scents in the air. "Hey Huntleigh," She smirked, but didn't look at him in order to not give him away, her voice soft... Well as soft as she could make it, she did have a naturally squeaky kid voice. "Whachyah up to?" She asked unable to suppress her excitement any longer.
"Whoa, dude, you don't look too well," Angelicpaw said, noticing Raypaw swaying back and forth a bit, "Maybe you should eat something."

Paintedcanyon ran a paw over his face. Oh, he wouldn't here the end of this now that Duskslayer was seemingly promoting his apprentice. The long furred tom had to agree though. Someone needed to help prepare the clan... He just wasn't sure if Duskslayer was serious or not. He could never tell with the priest promised. The dark ginger tom trotted over to Desertpaw, sitting down in front of him. "Well, Cheif Desertpaw. Any ideas?" racer

Desertpaw puffed out his chest "You got it Duskslayer!!!" he chirped turning to the other warriors his head held high as he looked out over the wounded "Time to get started, they could come back at any time. First we should go and gather all the materials that we can get our paws on and see what we are working with. If your not injured, go and gather what ever you can find by the entrance. Nothing is to to small! Sticks, rocks, paint, we can even use the thick thorn bushes" for those that knew him it was clear that the gears in his head were already turning with possibilities" he paused before adding at the last moment "Chief Desert commands you!" yes he liked the sound of that

Paintedcanyon nodded along as he listened to Desertpaw. He looked back to the wounded and the abandoned Soothsayer den. They probably didn't have enough herbs to treat all of the wounded cats. He got up and swayed his tail as he looked towards their leader. Perhaps Bloodystar wouldn't be opposed to some help. The long furred tom wasn't sure how many cats were injured, and he was all but useless when it came to the more physical tasks. With his long furred pelt, he'd quickly overheat. But he couldn't sit back and do nothing. "Desertpaw- I mean, Cheif Desertpaw, perhaps we can have someone look for as many herbs as they can lying around here? For the injured. Keep up the good work." He said, before walking off towards the high priest.
"Bloodystar!" Paintedcanyon called out to him, dipping his head respectfully as he addressed him. "Would you be in need of a helping paw for the wounded? I may be of more use helping them then I would be doing more physical labor. Its not much, but... well I have a history of quickly overheating during the months earlier moons of Leaffall" Jadie
Faith "Whaddya mean? I feeeeel finnnne." Obviously not. The apprentice was now swaying on her paws. Nothing quite made sense anymore. Duskslayer talked to rocks, her brother was some sort of chief, and just everything was spinning. And that headache kept growing and growing past painful into a splitting. She fell down from her seat and vomited. What. The. Hell. She was fine just a few minutes ago, and now she felt awful.

Desertpaw, no Chief Desert, nodded "Thats all part of the plan!! Thats why I said to gather ALL the materials they could find. Once we know what we are working with then we start sending them where they are needed" he gazed upwards at the rim of their camp, a place he liked to look down upon and watch the cats going about their business. He went quiet for a few moments before making his way over to Duskslayer "We have a problem" he pointed upwards the sun nearly blinding "When they realize that they can stand up there and see us they are going to know what we are up to" he squinting debating on how to handle it "I don't want them to see my traps so we need a way to make them go away" his tail lashed as he thought and thought for a few more moments "With the river running through our camp we have plenty of water... that almost means we have plenty of mud...." the two thoughts seemed a little disconnected, but his wheels were turning "We should use the mud to throw at them... I would say rocks but we need those for other things, the problem is getting the mud up that high" he stopped, grabbing a flexible stick and pulling it backward before releasing "Something like this. There will be so many of them that we don't have to be accurate" Faith
Layne sat off to the side by the river, trying to wash her face clean. As much as she wanted to just leave it the blood was starting to dry and itch. Once her eye was able to open she stepped back, not wanting to wash the scab off. None of her wounds were bad enough to warrant care. "Can I help somehow?" She stepped up to the apprentice who it seemed had been put in charge. Layne bit back the feeling of resentment at following the orders of an apprentice. Now was not the time for her feelings, the clan had to come first. racer
Forsworn licked his wounds clean, listening to the others make choices. His eyes scanned over to the river that flowed through camp. The ginger tom had grown up in WaterClan and loved to swim. Perhaps there was an underwater way out either through the river or lover's lane. He even sure if there would be air pockets. "Hey, um Duskslayer. Do you know if there is a way out through the water?" Why he was asking a tom who had just recently moved to the clan. Yet here he was. Faith

Cadet Huntleigh could spot them in the crowd. Even after moons apart, he could recognize them easily. He was relieved but also nervous when it was Astrid that found him first. Out of everyone, it was who he would want to help the most. But one of them knowing could lead to everyone knowing. At least she sat in front of him, letting him blend into her shadow. Huntleigh didn't want to move much, but he rested the tip of his tail on the base of her's, just to let her know he was there. "Trying to figure out just what is going on. Are you okay? How about Willowby?" Cadet Huntleigh kept his voice low, but concern still leaked through it. He still had that soft spot for his little sister, after all.
"Yeah. You look, uh, super fine," Angelicpaw said unconvinced, "How about you be even more fine lying down and just hanging back for today," She suggested slowly laying Raypaw down. stardance
Duskslayer took a break from his efforts to look back at Desertpaw. She had a point that he considered, but was accepting the fact that this was a loss cause. SunClan thrived because no one knew their location better than them. That was why they killed failed initiates, killed deserters. In other words, the moment he learned people escaped to DayClan he knew they were royally screwed. If DayClan stood by them and not Bloodystar's DayClan they had no allies. Vixenkismet was mates with two of the most lethal army leaders Glowstar and Funk E'tan, SunClan hurt their mate. From the very first day, this was an inevitable possibility made impossible by the fact that Bloodystar was beyond reason. Despite realizing all of this the moment it was explained to him he still accepted the offer of priest promise just so when this day did happen he would be there for his friend.
They're good ideas, but we're in a drought, we likely don't have enough mud and we definitely don't have enough water to swim undetected.
"Let's give it a shot, Chief Desert I'm putting you in charge of those contraptions. You have the entire army at your disposal to get others involved in helping. Fogsworn, maybe you could inspect the stream running into camp, see if there's anything to that theory. There's been a drought for a while so it's possible we might have to dig it out a little" Duskslayer said. There was no tell that he had little hope. He was the only person who knew just how hopeless this really was, it ate him up inside. Even if he was the biggest hypocrite in the camp he was glad to be, he wanted them to have hope, it was hell knowing just how doomed they were. racer @atomheart
"Mom was attacked, but I broke the warriors paw and rolled him off of her," Faithpaw said, but it wasn't pridefully, he could see the mixture of sorrow, anger, and fear swirling in her gaze like a hurricane. "I'm scared, but I'm trying to have faith." strawberrycupid
