Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Rodent walked with his head bent down, ears flattened as the last of the golden sun moved eagerly into the mountains, soon to vanish completely. He tasted the air trying to get a scent for where home could be, but the cold was pushing through his pelt and into the bones causing him to shiver. However as he picked up on scents he soon came across Wolftundra's. The closer he walked the warmer his pelt felt until he nearly walked into Sapphire Springs. His blue gaze glittered in surprise, it looked so beautiful compared to the prisons. The brightest part of his life was being permitted to performing chores in camp, but here it looked pleasant. In the distance perched at the edge of Sapphire Springs he spotted Wolftundra. He hesitated to talk freely to his captor, but decided that maybe he earned it after the completion of this mission, "What is this place Wolftundra?"
He splashed his paw lightly into the warm waters, smiling with childish delight at the warmth. He was never more of a DayClan cat in this moment, looking mesmerized with big wide eyes, his instinct telling him to play in the water.
"The Sapphire Springs. Take a dip if you wish, the water is warm enough." So he returned did he? Interestingly enough, Wolftundra felt proud that he did, confident that the tom would follow him and be loyal to only him. It was feeling he liked, this sense of belonging. of Rodent belonging to him of course. A softness spread of him as he relaxed once more into his place be the water's edge, one paw lazily dipped into the hot springs.
(I'll time skip to present day where he's now completely domesticated. I'm thinking that living in WinterClan has taken a toll on Rodent, that he's pushing himself to do more to please Wolftundra, but by doing so he'll collapse falling ill. But because he's a prisoner no one wants to waste resources like prey or crystals to get him to be better. So maybe Wolftundra secretly helps him and then the crush between them really forms? pao )
Rodent had been the "good boy" of WinterClan. Ever since killing for Wolftundra he had been completely invested in his place as the pet. Due to his thick, but short fur he stood no chance at running away. Because of this natural leash on him he could hunt for prey close by to camp before the sun was out and have breakfast waiting for Wolftundra by the time he was hungry. This morning he walked right up to Wolftundra with a juicy rabbit, his biggest catch yet. His bright blue eyes dancing with excitement to see Wolftundra's expression at his catch. He savored every moment that Wolftundra was proud of him, but there hadn't been that many since the hot springs. For a long time he had been useless at hunting, but now he was serving his purpose after getting used to hunting in the snow.
Kneeling down before the warrior he began to strip clean piece of meat for Wolftundra. His own stomach growled as usual in protest to not eating as much as a WinterClan warrior. He had grown very scrawny and his unkempt fur while pretty in color had lost its shine and was beginning to thin from the lack of nutrition. "Good morning, Wolftundra," He greeted, his head always lowered in respect to him. Normally he always sounded cheerful, but today his voice was more sluggish, his gaze looked tired. He must have realized it as Rodent shook his head to clear his thoughts, "I'm sorry, I'm just tired is all, please forgive my tone."
(ohh what if he gets assigned a mate and then she dies in kitting or afterwards. But before that she's always frustrated with Wolftundra and his care/obsession with Rodent? Rodent ends up playing nursemaid to the kits after she dies and helping Wolftundra raise them. Woldtundra already knows he loves the other tom but refused to say anything because he's a prisoner. But maybe some cats take notice of how loyal he is and how he cares for the kits so they petition to make him a full member, especially since the kits have started calling him mom? Which confuses Wolftundra because now he could technically take the tom as his mate but isn't sure if that'd be acceptable or if the other tom will want to be with him) Faith
(OK PHANTOM IS DOWN FOR DIVORCING SO LET'S DO THIS! Faith)
Wolftundra nodded his head, giving the tom a once over. He looked off, more so than usual. Taking half of the prey and giving a hum of praise of the feast, he pushed the other half back towards Rodent. "Don't waste it." The rough and gruff tom didn't give any excuse as to why he'd a been nice and given half of the prey back, or would even acknowledge it if asked. Absentmindedly, he thought back on the last few days. His assigned mate was in prison now, stripped of her title as heir and carrying someone else's kits. It was a shame on him and part of him was ready to go ask for a divorce. Only problem was they hadn't meant the criteria of having a litter of their own. "Pet, how well do you know the rules of the marriage?" If he could bounce his idea off of someone else, one he knew wouldn't lie to him if they knew what was best for them, then maybe he could get rid of his disgrace for a mate.
"Of marriage here? I know that everyone must have a mate by a certain time unless there are none available," Rodent said honestly as he chewed vigorously into the rabbit. It reminded him of home, there were plenty of rabbits in the open fields of DayClan, but lately his old home felt like someplace that was temporary. Like he was always meant to be picked up and owned by someone different, belonging to somewhere else. Or maybe it wasn't belonging to WinterClan so much as he felt happy belonging to Wolftundra.
Faith Sorry been super unmotivated and reading fanfic instead lol
Wolftundra nodded, his eyes turning only briefly on the other tom before finding interest in the rest of camp. "Yes, assigned or chosen. There's a mate for everyone that way. You have two moons after being promoted to find one or one will be assigned to you by the Gods blessing. I'm afraid, my mate has strayed from the Gods and with no kits between us, there is no hope for divorce." But was there? Could he find another way? He had no chosen mate to replace her with, at that thought his eyes drifted to the tom beside him, and he would have to claim the kits she was having as his to get away from her if they would not allow the divorce otherwise. It was a messy problem, one he wasn't sure there was a solution to, at least not an easy one or immediate one.
"I'm not going to beat up your wife in prison if that's what you're getting at," Rodent said before continuing more passively, "She could probably beat a guy like me up in a matter of seconds."
"Hey Wolftundra," Howlingnight said approaching the two, "Mind if I borrow Rodent for some training practice with a student?"
Rodent's head lowered at Howlingnight's question, training practice was a nice way of asking him to be the training dummy for some student to beat on. That was his least favorite chore, at least cleaning up camp he could feel a part of WinterClan. But being beat on never failed to remind him of his place as prisoner. He stayed quiet, instead eating his prey faster so he could at least have a full meal before being beaten.
