Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(alright so I plan for Nigtpaw to have some flings so maybe they decide to be friends due to their engagement believing they'll get someone else before then and don't have to love each other. Or she'll just have flings behind his back lol. But figured we could do a thread for them since they are engaged and all) Flurryofstars w/Snowpaw
Nightpaw was amazed to have received any type arranged marriage, an engagement at that. She was disowned, only considered a WinterClan cat because she'd been brought to the clan as a kit and by principle they accepted all kits. No her father didn't want her, his family didn't, and neither did her mother. It'd made her cold and secluded. But now she had an intended, an engagement. What was expected of her now? Did she even care?

(Behind his back might be fun. When he finds out, it might make him question his loyalty to WinterClan's rules. Maybe he'd try to find an out to be with someone else. But I'm up for anything really.)
Snowpaw was surprised to find himself engaged so early in his life, but he was also proud to be considered. He took his role in WinterClan very seriously and respected the decisions of Wintrystar. He was, however, lacking in the social skills department and hoped that it wouldn't burden his fiancé. Not wanting to shoulder away their engagement forever, he decided to take the initiative and introduce himself to her. Easily spotting her fluffy black fur, the snowshoe tom made his way over to her.
"Hello, Nightpaw. I don't believe we've met before. My name's Snowpaw," he said with a dip of his head. His voice was gravelly for someone so young and as his blue eyes met hers, it revealed his habit of always squinting. "I hope you're taking the news of our engagement well."
Nightpaw had been enjoy a post ,mid-day patrol, when he approached. Awkwardly, she nodded her head, honestly unsure why he was talking to her. Especially about their engagement. Wasn't he ashamed? She was disowned, a half breed, practically a nobody in this clan. Maybe he didn't realize? "Do you not now?" She asked, her eyebrow raised on one side, her face passive and slightly annoyed.

Oblivious as always, Snowpaw couldn't sense the awkward aura growing around them. "I'm aware that we are currently betrothed, of course," he answered with a bemused tilt of his head. As he analyzed her expression further, he noticed a bit of annoyance there. Perhaps, he'd misunderstood what it was she was asking. Clearing his throat, he straightened and tried again. "I'm not sure I understand... Know what?"
Know what? Well, clearly he hadn't heard. It'd basically become common knowledge but apparently not to all. Nightpaw sat fully up, turn slightly to face him, and spoke with little emotion. Her words sounded rehearsed, but really she'd only heard them thrown at her a few dozen times in the past. "I'm disowned. My blood may be half WinterClan, but I'm a disgrace to my family and thus have the status of disowned. It's a shameful thing, you see."

As she offered him an explanation, Snowpaw's expression still held some of his earlier confusion. He actually was aware of her status to some extent, although he wasn't brushed up on every detail. However, it wasn't really an issue to him so he was surprised she was so concerned about it. "I do see, but I don't understand. Me knowing this doesn't change anything and even if I was upset with your disownment, I doubt our engagement would be retracted," he replied honestly. A moment of silence settled over them as his blue eyes stared unblinkingly into hers in an almost analytical fashion. His face gave nothing away now, but internally he was feeling quite reluctant. When next he spoke, it was in a very serious but hesitant tone. "I should share with you that my blood purity is unknown, meaning that our statuses might not be so different after all."
Nightpaw was really shocked that he wasn't rushing to find someone else before their second moon as warriors, when their engagement would become a wedding and marriage. Honestly, she's shocked she was paired at all considering her status in the clan. And then came to light his words. His status was unknown. Meaning this was a pity pairing. They'd only been paired because his at least had some WinterClan blood and any kits of theirs would have that much at least. Essentially he was to be married to her, solely so his kits would have WinterClan blood in them How funny. "Well how fun for us. The Disowned Daughter and the Unknown Son of WinterClan, paired together for hopes of some WinterClan blood in the kits to-be." She rolled her eyes and started to walk away. If he wanted to follow her around then fine, whatever. She didn't care. But she had other things to do then to sit here and explain how they were being paired together just so they don't further pollute the system of pureblood lineages.
(ok so what if we do that he wants to at least be friends with her. SO he's constantly trying to hang out with her? Maybe he catches her coming back in to camp late and asks her where she's been, but she wont tell and remains a mystery and invited him to hunt or something to distract him because really she'd been out with a fling cat from a different clan? if that makes sense? Snowpaw nodded at her words, agreeing that it was indeed fun. Before he could voice what an honor their engagement really was though, the she-cat had already walked away. Tilting his in confusion, he wondered if he'd missed hearing her say goodbye. Deciding that was the only possible answer, he too turned away and went to look for his mentor.
(That sounds good to me!)
It had been a long time since their first and only real encounter, when Snowpaw noticed Nightpaw arriving in camp late at night. He couldn't recall her needing to patrol and her mouth was empty of any prey. Feeling curious, the snowshoe tom moved away from the apprentice's den to meet her. "Hello again," he said, not bothering to hide the curiosity in his gaze. "I'm surprised to see you outside so late. What were you doing?" He wasn't suspicious of her quite yet, given that he too was awake late. But then, he knew his reasoning was from trouble sleeping and he had no idea what hers was.
Nightpaw was on her way to grab a snack before bed, when a voice called out to her. Great, him again. Just what did this tom want? Sure they were engaged, but that hardly meant anything at this time. Maybe when they became warriors, but for right now it was basically a warning to do better. "Does it matter?" She didn't answer to him, now or ever. Selecting a mouse from the pile, Nightpaw stepped away, intent on finding a space away from this tom and in hopes that he'd take the hint that she didn't want to talk to him.

"That's an odd question," Snowpaw said, furrowing his brow at her response. Why wouldn't it matter? Nightpaw kept walking though, and the tom decided it was more important to keep up with her than to stand there puzzled. The fact that she retrieved a mouse from the fresh-kill pile surprised him though. "Was prey scarce tonight?" he asked, assuming that his betrothed would have tried to hunt something even if she had only gone out for a walk. It was always good to bring back something for the clan and since they were apprentices, any chance to practice their training was worth the effort. "I didn't have any trouble hunting when I was out earlier, but perhaps because it's colder now...?"
She turned away from him, ignoring him as she began to enjoy her meal. Then, when he didn't immediately leave, she rolled her icicle blues at him. "Do you want some or something? No, I didn't go hunting, or even look, so how would I know if it's scarce tonight?" Honestly, she'd not even been in WinterClan's territory. If the tom payed enough attention, he'd notice the MoonClan scent clinging to her Night black fur. Soon they'd be warriors, and how she dreaded the day, for in less than two moons following that, they'd be mates. Nightpaw doubted she'd get the chance to find a different lover, or anyone at that. She'd more than likely be denied with whatever cats he chose and was better off playing the "good daughter" and just sticking with Snowpaw, at least until he was mated off to someone else. Or until she left. Gods, she wanted to leave this clan. It was suffocating, and controlling. Especially her dad's family. They probably helped make this match too, or at least had some say in it.

Her attitude was finally starting to register to him and Snowpaw couldn't figure out why the she-cat would be irritated. They were only having a friendly conversation and he felt that, as future mates, it was good to check in with each other occasionally. "I don't really want something, no," he answered neutrally. "Although, I don't understand why you are so intent on keeping whatever you were doing secret. Good communication is important in any relationship and I sometimes feel like I'm the only one putting in any... effort." He felt rude for bringing it up, but honesty was just as important and he hoped she'd see things the same way.
Flurryofstars Honestly I replied to this and then apparently didn't hit send so rip Do we wanna promote them? give them that rush against time, and then during that Nightpaw ends up pregnant? So then she's panicking about that? and either urges/agrees for him to marry her and tells him their his kits or tells him?
Nightpaw didn't answer, allowing the silent of the night to elope them. Finally she sighed, looked up at him and with a niceness she didn't usually use, asked him, "do you want to go hunting in the morning?" It was effort, but not an answer to what he was asking. "Look, I'm not so keen on this whole 'arranged marriage' thing, it's weird and forced and I'm not a fan. SO excuse me if I don't put in a lot of effort. But...but I guess we can at least be friends." It was a compromise, and hopefully he'd leave her alone after this. What she said was true, but at the same time it was more because she didn't want him in her business and private matters. Especially if he learned about where she'd really been tonight.

Ahh! Can we promote them at the next AC? Or like, can we still have her get pregnant while he's at least an apprentice? I feel like he's hardly been one and while I don't mind speeding up his age for plot reasons, I usually track time alongside actual moons lol. ))
Snowpaw cocked his head to one side, relieved to get an actual answer from the she-cat but ultimately perplexed by what she was saying. Or at the very least, offended. "How could you be against the marriage? It's an honor to have been chosen, and to be matched with someone who wasn't disowned by their family. I understand the concept of moving slow in a relationship like this, but we don't interact at all. We're frozen in one spot and friends?" He let out a little groan at the word before continuing. "If we were only friends then we'd be lying to our clan and our leader. How would that be okay?" He wished that her offer of hunting together would have pleased him, but it seemed like it was done only out of courtesy or pity--something that only made the tom's fur bristle for the first time in his life.
(sure! promotion next AC! ah I've never been one to track with actual moons I get to impatient lol Wanna time skip to a different time at least?) Flurryofstars
"An honor." She gave him this look that basically said 'really?' Nightpaw wasn't impressed, not at the least about his devotion to their religion. In honesty, she couldn't care for it and hated it all, especially the whole arranged marriage part. "How would we be lying? They don't expect love! Just kits. And it's just a way to keep us out of fur and out of mind. A solution to a mistake, if you will! Look, if you want love, then you better look elsewhere. The best I got is friends, and you don't even want that. Trust me. I'm disowned, a seen as lower than dirt. You can at least raise up in social standing, chose a better mate, and quick." She walked away at that, more furious than she'd ever been. Black paws carried her right out of camp and back towards the nearest border. She didn't care where she went or who she saw as long as she was out of here and away form her problems.

Snowpaw held his tongue as Nightpaw ranted, feeling rather conflicted on how he should respond. He disagreed with her view on their arrangement, and while they were engaged, a friendship was out of the question. Still, he felt bad for her situation. Clearly, she wasn't interested in him or their engagement and she had other problems to worry about on top of it. As a clanmate, he wanted to support her through those feelings, but how was he supposed to do that when everything she wanted was the opposite of what he did? Luckily, he didn't need to say anything because Nightpaw stormed off before he could. He watched her go with a pang of guilt but tried to force the feeling away. Taking a breath to calm himself, an odd scent reached his nose. MoonClan?
Flurryofstars Sorry been super unmotivated and reading fanfic instead lol
two weeks later
Nightpaw had barely spent the last week in the camp, but when she was she tried avoiding Snowpaw. But it didn't work. It seemed like the two of them ended up on every hunting patrol together. After the blizzard that destroyed camp, the clan needed all the food they could get and all hands were on deck. The few times she'd managed to escape, she made a run for the nearest border to meet up with her current lover. The tom was older than her, but she didn't mind, actually she thought she'd found love. But those moments of forced interaction between her and Snowpaw were....nice. They were civil and even possibly working towards friends. Once she realized that though, Nightpaw wanted to put more distance between them, to protect herself from getting hurt. She'd been hurt by those who were supposed to be family, so why wouldn't her future mate do the same thing? It was one of the many reasons she didn't like this whole arranged marriage thing. Waiting by the entrance for the othr student, she frowned in thought.

((No problem! I get hooked on fanfic too much so I definitely relate :3 ))
Snowpaw wasn’t sure how to take all of the forced interactions with his fiancé. On one paw, he should be happy to have more time around the she-cat, but on the other, he couldn’t stop thinking about her blatant rejection of him. Friends... The word felt bittersweet to him, a tom who always craved the comfort of friendship, but only getting the opportunity from the one cat “destined” to be more. The most he could do these days was act civil around her and treat Nightpaw the same as he would any other WinterClan cat. Sometimes he thought she might even like being around him more because of it, but the scent of MoonClan still lingering in his nose made him second guess it.
Sighing, he dragged himself towards the camp’s entrance, feeling unusually disinterested in his student duties for the day. As his blue eyes lifted to see Nightpaw, he remembered why. “Hello,” he said in his monotone voice. “Are you feeling okay?” He couldn’t help but wonder why she was frowning, though it did frustrate him that he cared.
Nightpaw was startled he asked, but honestly she shouldn't have been considering who it was doing the asking. Snowpaw was always kind, and he would listen to whatever she told him, even her latest burden. A burden that had had he panicking for the last two nights in worry and disbelief. How could this happen to her? But could she trust him? Could she trust anyone? With a shake of her head and trying to hide her nerves, she shrugged. "Don't know." She really didn't. Part of her wasn't surprised but another part of her was terrified and shocked and panicking. It was disbelief and denial that was keeping all that at bay though.

(( Depends. What fandoms/ships do you read? ))
“Alright,” he said with a shrug. He expected there was something she wasn’t telling him, but when had pushing her to open up ever work before? He took a few steps past her, eager to get through their task as soon as possible. Surely she felt the same with as little as she was in camp. Not even a minute passed before he stopped and turned to look over his shoulder at her. No matter his inner turmoil, Snowpaw wasn’t mean. He cared about all of his clanmates and this was no exception. Dismissing his concern for Nightpaw so easily made him feel wrong—like she was right to avoid him.
“But, Nightpaw... If there’s something bothering you or you ever just want to talk, I’m here for you.” There was a meaningful intensity to his gaze that left little room to doubt the honesty of his words, but also suggested that there was something he might already know about her situation. No matter how much he tried to deny his suspicions.
