A soft giggle bubbled through the night breeze. Excited pawsteps followed before she emerged from the undergrowth hot on the trail of the minty green moth that only fluttered at night. "Wait up!" She called to the ghostly winged insect as it floated and glided further into the forest. Umbermoth grinned and followed closely, twirling and leaping with the moth as they danced in the light of the moon that cut through the canopy and cast the forest in a silvery blue light. The night air was sweet on her tongue as she laughed, and the breeze brought the scent of honeysuckle in the last of it's blooms. She had no idea how close to the border she was. She was being careless, but what was life without a little carelessness?

Like any DayClan cat, Wildblood accepted outsiders and whatever they did. Whenever they crossed through the territory, he did his best to strike up a conversation, and to make sure they weren't WinterClan attacking again. The fire bengal-tabby mix heard the she-cat approaching from a long way away, thanks to uniquely shaped ears. He did not tense up. There was nothing hostile about the sounds, it just pure joy. He knew it was a MoonClan cat. Few rogues went so close to MoonClan, let alone strayed into the territory. He walked right up to the border and shouted "Hey, what's so fun!? Can I see?"

She shrunk down briefly at the unfamiliar voice, going silent. But the little moth fluttered back to her and landed on her shoulder softly, as if letting her know it was okay. She slowly stood up straight again and glanced around. "Who's there?" She called.

His ears perked up at the sudden silence. His ears had always been strangely shaped, but it worked for the better. He had better hearing than most, but still he could not pick out any sounds. He was about to turn away and leave when he heard her voice again. "Ayy! I'm Wildblood from DayClan!" He paused. "I'm much less scary than my name!"

Umbermoth crept out from behind a large tree trunk and blinked her minty green eyes. The Luna moth she had been chasing fluttered around her head before taking off and gliding over to Wildblood to land on his shoulder. Umbermoth hesitantly followed and peeked over a large fern. "I'm...... I'm Umbermoth." She said shyly.
Wildblood's fasncination only grew when the luna mouth landed on his shoulder. He stood as still as he could. He looked over at her with a look on his face that obviously said 'This is so cool!!!'. He didn't say anything until the Luna moth left his shoulder. "Sorry to bother you, it looks you already got friend out here... though your friend does seem to like me more."

She giggled as the moth came back to her and was joined by at least two other moths, they were smaller than the other. "I've had a connection with them since I was very little. They are called Luna moths." She glanced at each one of them. "They don't live very long but...somehow they always find me." She said with a soft smile.
He smiled and walked closer to her, rather the Luna moths. "You must have a gift then! What I wouldn't give to be friends with these little guys..." He stuck out his head and touched one of them with his nose. "Mmmm... I guess I gotta just become friends with you!"

Umbermoth giggled softly, shyly. "You wouldn't mind being friends with a MoonClan cat?" She asked hesitantly. The moths seemed to pause in their wing opening and closing as if waiting for his answer as well.
He shook his head. "No, of course not. DayClan territory is free to walk through, so, like, I think it's wrong for me to talk to you. Unless you don't wanna be friends with DayClan cat..." He smiled and bared his teeth a little bit. "I know we have a very rough reputation." He sighed dramatically. "But what do you say?"
"Then it's a deal! I'll be friends with you too!. Soooo..." He sat down and put on the cheekiest smile he could find. "To start this friendship process, I want you to tell me three things everyone knows about you, and one secret you've never told anyone!"

Umbermoth emerged fully from her spot in the ferns and sat down opposite of Wildblood. "Hmm...well everyone knows I was named Umbermoth because of my connection to the Luna moths...everyone also knows my favorite thing to do is dance with them. They are wonderful dancers. Oh that is..the moths are." She giggled imagining some of her more stuffy clanmates dancing in the moonlight. "Um...oh! Everyone also knows I have a knack for herbs. I love learning about them." She smiled and looked thoughtful for a moment. She tilted her head to the side..."A secret...hm. Well...I suppose." She paused again. "Well I'm terrified of blood... specifically my own."
He nodded. "Umbermoth is a really cool name. Mine's nice, but... I don't think I'm viscous enough to really use it, you know? Like I don't wanna be viscous, but my name would fit me better if I was, like, Bloodystar or something. I don't wanna be him, but it's a good name for him." He stopped and took a breath. "Anyway, have you considered being a healer? I mean, there aren't that many people out there who want to work with herbs all day. It sounds sooo boring."

"Oh noo I have not really considered it. I'm not the most spiritually intune." She said with a smile. "I mean maybe one day... I'm not sure that I would be very good at it." She said with a shrug. "I think your name suits you. Wildblood doesn't have to mean wild as in violent. It could mean wild like a free spirit."
"Ahhh, I never thought about it like that. I guess it's not to bad!" He nudged her with his shoulder. "See? We've been talking for like five minutes and we're already becoming better people! I think that's pretty good." He stared down one of the Luna moths and went cross-eyed. "Maybe one of you guys could be my friend to?"

"Dance with them and they will." She said as one moth fluttered in happiness. "When I was a kit that's how it all started. I was drawn out of camp..by the Goddess I suppose. But I saw the moths dancing in the moonlight and I had to join....it was magical." She giggled as the fluttering moth demonstrated with a series of dips and glides and loops.
His jaw dropped. "Wait, I have to dance? I've never really done that before, and I have no idea where to start." His amber eyes stared thoughtfully into hers for a second. "Do you wanna dance with me and show me how its done?" He put one of his paws of hers and swept in underneath. "Please?"

Umbermoth would have been visibly blushing if it weren't for her fur. She smiled at him and stood up. "You just kind of....let go." She said as she watched the moths dance with each other. "Pretend you are air. Pretend you can fly like them.." her voice turned wistful as she took a few steps and then spun in a circle, then another few high graceful steps and she jped in the air spinning around. It was simply a series of steps, spins and leaps of joy and the moths circled and dipped around with her. Just like she had said. They danced.
"You just kinda let go? Hmm... easy enough!" He never had a problem letting go before. It took him no time to find a rhythm in his head and start moving his paws. One, two, three, four, jump! One, two, three, four, jump! His paws guided him in a flowing circle with jumps and twists not unlike Umbermoth's, but he let his extroversion shine in his version. His jump leaps had flare to them. His paws waved around as he jumped. On the last one he tried to go for a mid-air flip but landed flat on his back.
