Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Sean looked doubtful, but seemed to recognize that he wasn't going to get out of this so he kept up with Vixenkismet's pace.
When they arrived at the old Regime Sean walked in first, his pelt prickled as though anything could jump out and strike them in the darkness. They used to have trials in the underground city. Because no one patrolled there the land was full of big cats, rabid bats, feral cats, and other dangers. Now that the Regime was gone entirely he wasn't sure what animals could be lurking in their old home even if it was largely uninhabitable now.
When he walked them over to where the prison was the prison island was almost completely submerged in the trash water. The stink alone could drive any predators away and the water levels had only risen causing black sludge to protrude onto the rocks. "We're too far. We could use a boat, we used to have some, but we can't swim in that. You will get sick, but most of all it's more like sludge, nothing like water, you will only sink," Sean said.

"Yeah, seems like it." Of course, Funk was already dipping his paw in the weird sludge. Some unholy mix of water, dirt and maybe something else. It didn't smell right, or feel right between his toes. He'd swipe some for later testing, but could already feel himself getting bored of it and shook it off his paw. Away from the group. Last thing he needed was one of them yelling at him. "Do you have a boat around here for late night expeditions, or do we need to go back?"
"There are boats," Sean said, gesturing to some beaten up scraps of wood. They could float, maybe back in the day, but now they looked rotten, plus they were PLANKS OF WOOD, not exactly reliable to easily sit on.
"Ohhh... Kay. Well I guess it's worth a try," Glowstar said skeptically. This was a huge risk after all. What could anyone do to save the other if a plank sank. They couldn't get on the other persons boat because it would be too much weight.
"Or we could. Y'know, turn around, give up, that's always fun and easy," Sean suggested hopefully.

"The only one who should be giving up right now is you, Sean. Would make this whole thing." Shule answered him with a heavy sign, eyeing the water. She really didn't want to go in that, but her options right now were limited. Find out the truth, or give up. And they'd already done the work of dragging her mate out here, it would be a shame to end it without knowing. "Guess we're taking our chances."

"Yeah... sure." Funk looked over questioningly at Sean before looking back down at the boats. "These are about as much boats as this water is pure." He stuck his paw in it, immediately shaking it off as something slimy caight him. He did not wanna swim through this, but he also didn't wanna get left behind. "Oh well, let's get this over with." Funk resigned himself with a sigh.
Glowstar dragged out a plank of wood for herself, "Guess we'll go on separate boats, I don't think it can hold more than one of us," she said, dragging it onto the water, but found that her first plank was already sinking into the goo. Fishing out another she threw it onto the ponds surface, this time it stayed afloat. Leaping onto the plank she sat on it, looking forward as the voyage started. Only the boat stayed in place. "Hey Sean, how do we get this thing to move?"
"Usually they float over on their own, but I guess now it's more polluted, you'll have to paddle with your paws. Not me though, I brought a stick like a civilized person," Sean said already bitting into it as he tried to paddle forward only for Glowstar's tail to whip it out of his mouth.
"Oh noooooo," Glowstar said as she watched it sink out of sight into the muck.
"I can't wait for everyone to move ahead of us and then they'll look back and you'll be gone, but it'll be just another misfortune accident that took place here," Sean said already cringing and let out a small cry as he used his paw to paddle forward just barely, "I hate ALL of you right now. It already sucked having to grow up on that stupid rock, now I gotta paddle back and then I gotta paddle AGAIN to get out."

Funk let out a sigh as the siblings bickered, grabbing his own plant of wood to throw into the sludge and a stick too. His paws getting into it was at least better than dipping his whole body in. But man, was it deep and thick. His deep paddles forward only pushed him forward a little bit, making the island seem like it was getting farther ahead rather than getting closer. Despite it, it wasn't hard to catch up to the pair, and he poked Sean with the stick. "Need a stick?" Funk slid the stick towards Sean. The sooner they got there, the sooner they could leave, he figured.
Sean glanced at Funk E'tan a bit resentfully, largely because he was the reason they were there in the first place, so yes, of course he deserved that stick. Sean swiped the stick from him, "Thanks," He pouted slightly, using it to row forward the best he could.
"Can I borrow someone's boat?" Glowstar asked, hers already was sinking and in a few moments she would be submerged in the goopy substance too.
Sean struggled, but managed to get his plank close enough to Glowstar's where he could offer her the stick for her to walk across. Once Glowstar had stepped across though Sean was quick to reprimand her with a soft click of her claws to her face, "No more. So what if that island has the truth, it was better left behind. You don't need to know if mom had a sucky life because she was still a bad person with or without giving you those herbs. And the fact that you feel you have to risk your own life, that you love, to try and make sense of her past is ridiculous because... You're never going to find a good reason why she hated you. And if you truly believe that somehow you're going to find a good reason, you'll see what you want to see and you'll make excuses for her. So don't do it, go back home, be happy, you can't have a greater revenge than that."
Glowstar looked back to the island and then to Sean, "Alright... I guess let's jump back before we get too far out," Glowstar said, taking a far leap back to the shore. "I still would have liked a solid answer, but I guess you're right, I already know the important parts of the past."
