Lionpride's stomach clenched, as his sister's broken form came into view. Her entire midsection was covered and bound tightly with cobwebs, hiding the stitches that were barely managing to keep her sewed together. The stone floor of the den was still stained red from her blood, even though it had been cleaned and the surfaces scrubbed. It would take time for the stain to dissipate. He squeezed his eyes closed, as if doing so would stop the flashbacks from happening... The first time he returned to the nursery to visit his newborns, seeing the dark red stain from where his mate had passed. All that time that they had spent together, and all that was left of her was a stain on the floor and his two children. He was starting to panic, but just as he thought he was about to loose it, he felt a gentle paw placed onto his. It was enough to snap him out of his thoughts, brining his eyes upwards to meet hers instead of lingering on the strain "Thank you" he murmured, as they were invited inside. Taking a deep breath, he stepped into the dimly lit den.
She seemed to be restfully sleeping, so instead of startling her he gently eased himself into the nest beside of her. He could feel her muscles stiffen, her eyes snapping upwards as he began to gently groom between her ears. She was hot to the touch, her body plauged with fever as it tried to fight off the infection "Shh..." he whispered "Its ok, Jetfire. Its your brother, Lionpride" he continued his grooming being as gentle and sweet as he could be "You don't have to talk... Just go back to sleep, I just wanted you to know that I am here now" his words quiet and soothing
"Lionpride and Pollendrone are both Warriors of the Sun God once more," Bloodystar interjected, watching Jetfire's face to judge her reaction. He suspected that her brother's surrender would break the sense of rebellion that infected her heart like a disease. While outnumbered here in his den, he had won and was proud of it, his celadon eyes glinting in the low-light, "As you and your kits will be once you have all recovered."

Jetfire's gaze flittered around the room, only half aware of the things going on around her in her fever and herb induced frame of mind. Lionpride's tongue felt cold against her burning skin sending little shivers running down her spine "Lionpride" she choked out, her words coming out more like a jumbled mess than the words she was trying to speak. Her gaze finally landing on the she-cat standing at the entrance, her eyes widening. Lionpride had given in? He had taken Pollendrone to be his mate? So many questions she wanted to ask him, but she was having trouble forming complete thoughts, much less questions. Her kits... she hadn't even seen them yet, Bloodystar fearing that she would pass the poison or herbs in her system to them through her milk or kill them to finish what she had started. She raised her head slowly, the den spinning around them. ----------- Lionpride had to bite his tongue, doing his best not to ruin this time with his sister as Bloodystar spoke. He still had yet explain what really happened "Who poisoned you?" he questioned asking Jetfire directly instead of Bloodystar, his blood boiling "Who did this to you?" his claws dug into the nest.
Pollendrone remained back, Lionpride and Jetfire were in clear view but she did not want to get in the way of the brother and sister despite her motherly urge to rush in and comfort them. She could see the pain that Lionpride was feeling and sense the anger that was building within him, but her eyes faltered toward Jetfire and she froze when she realized the she-cat was looking at her. Pollendrone swallowed the lump that had settled in her throat and walked slowly to Lionprides side, she sat down and placed her tail over the toms shoulders as he tried to question his sister.
"Right now we are not sure. I have a few suspicions," Bloodystar cut in to answer Lionpride before Jetfire had the chance to answer. Even he hadn't spoken to her directly about it nor did he plan to. Whatever the truth was didn't matter to him as he'd already determined the solution, although he had no intentions of revealing that now, "But it's too soon to say anything with confidence and I don't want to stress Jetfire out by talking about it. The good thing is that no one died..."

Lionpride growled "She is your wife, shouldn't you have been protecting her?" his tail lashed back and forth, but hearing Jetfire groan as his movement, his gaze softened pushing his anger to the side for the time being to continue his gently grooming, guiding her head gently back down to the nest so that she could rest "Where are her kits? They should be their mother" his was softer this time, trying not to distrurb Jetfire any more than he already had
"Not even the Sun God cannot prevent every misfortune," Bloodystar growled, getting up and putting his face right in front of Lionpride's in a show of dominance. The High Priest was much smaller than the other tom, it was almost comical, but Bloodystar stood his ground, "Before you blame me, remember that I was the one who saved not only her life, but her kits' lives... and I will eliminate whoever did this to her, I can promise you that"
After a few more tense seconds he broke eye contact and began to gently stroke Jetfire's back, careful not to put on too much pressure and cause her any discomfort, "Her kits are in the Priest Promised's den with Unseenlights and Mountainsound. A couple of them are in worse shape even than their mother. Once all are recovered, I have every intention of reuniting them, I would never dream of taking children away from a fit mother."
