Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Pollendrone tilted her head at Lionprides apology, but the confusion didn't last long as the tom stood up and pushed his way through the crowd toward Bloodystar. With little time to truly process what was happening she turned and followed behind him, but stopped a short distance away as he began to yell out. Her eyes never left Lionpride even as Bloodystar moved closer and spoke, she agreed with everything Lionpride was saying, but why couldn't she bring herself to speak out... her ears tilted back against her head slightly and she lifted a paw to walk forward but lowered it when Shadeflower tumbled into view and started to support the grey tom.
"Arcticsong! Don't-- don't do that!" Wolfconstellation very nearly put this paw over her mouth but caught himself. He'd heard the horror stories, seen the scratches. She didn't like being touched unless she initiated it. Fine. He could deal with that. He just hoped that there weren't more strange rules and double standards, "I know all about egging people on but how about instead we.... give them the slip?"
Volcanicpaw had been easy, he'd just quit going to see her, but Arcticsong was going to be impossible to avoid. They'd have to come to some kind of truce. And what better time would there be then right this very second at a safe distance from prying eyes? Faith
Bloodystar froze as Lionpride's paw came down on his head. He had considered that Lionpride may take advantage of the opening he had given him, but he was willing to take the risk, moments like these were key to securing the loyalty of SunClan. He was not Glowstar. He would not tolerate back-talk or slander and if it took eight lives to prove his resolve then so be it.
A reason. Give me a reason to execute you right here and right now.
But he didn't. A gentle pat on the head, that was Lionpride's weapon of choice. Humiliation. He was trying to make Bloodystar feel like a misbehaving child while also baiting him to prove him right. Without a second thought, Bloodystar batted Lionpride's paw away, digging his claws across his knuckles and dragging them downward before letting go with a flourish. The cuts were deep and the High Priest made a show of flicking Lionpride's blood across the sandstone.
"I didn't realize so many of my loyal Warriors questioned my judgment. I thought all of traitors had either run away or found themselves in the prisons," He growled, his eyes not breaking Lionpride's although he was speaking primarily to Sunnysmiles and Shadeflower. He offered them a thinly veiled threat: Keep this up and see what happens, "Lionpride. The fact that you dare mention the Moon Goddess in your argument, much less suggest that we should be worshipping her, proves to me that are you are not ready or willing to accept the freedom that the Sun God has so graciously offered you. I have nothing more to say to you..."
He celadon gaze now rested on the she-cat who had been mostly silent through all this. Innocent.
"Pollendrone...
"You will soon enough share a bounded soul with Lionpride. As such, if one half of the whole is misguided, I am only to assume that the other half is as well. But I am not without reason. I can see that you are a loyal she-cat to both the Sun God and myself. You have given me no reason to believe otherwise. But I will not tolerate Lionpride - or any cat - speaking to me with such disrespect. You will share his prison cell tonight and as many nights as it takes for him to realize the error to his ways. It is up to you to decide when he is ready to leave the prison, but if he speaks to me like this ever again, you will both face a fate worse than a few sunless nights on a cold stone floor."
Bloodystar gave Lionpride the ghost of a smirk. Checkmate. Lionpride did not care about his own well-being, he'd proved that time and time again, but his heart was larger even than his mother's. He wouldn't subject an innocent cat to his punishment. Would he? It was a gamble to be sure. He was prideful, it was in his name. But Bloodystar wanted his strength on his side and, of all her kits, Lionpride was the last one Littlestar would ever expect to turn against her.
"Do not listen to Lionpride. No cat here is further away from the Sun God's ideals," Bloodystar addressed the entire Clan now, his voice loud and clear, "He is sick, poisoned by his mother's treachery, but in time he will overcome it, as almost every cat here has done. However, we must not allow dissent like this to spread. The other Clans will know that out God is dead and believe us weakened because of it. And it's true. We are an easy target now, divided and figthing amongst each other like children. If we wish to survive these dark times, we must overcome this. Put your faith in me. I swore an oath to bring the Sun God home and I will give every single one of my lives if that's what it takes."
Lionpride didn't flinch as the claws dug in, far to upset to feel the pain of the wounds although he could feel the throbbing as the blood rushed to the knuckles of his paws and his blood flickered across the stone before them. It took a lot of self control not to launch himself at Bloodystar right then and there, but violence wouldn't solve this situation. He had to make the clan see just how outrageous their new High Priest was. He let the High Priest finish speaking before laughter filled the air "Don't listen to Lion, hes tainted by his mother" he mocked trying to mimic Bloodystar's voice "tell me that I'm not the only one that hears how ridiculous he sounds? It is like I'm talking to a kit on it's first trip out of the nursery. You know, now I know why my mother called you the IDIOTBROTHER" he kept laughing, until it finally died down "Ok but on a more serious note, you seek to judge me for my parents so how about I judge you for yours. A mother who didn't even care to stay around long enough to raise you, and a father who has more kits than he can count scattered in almost every clan that is not only part of another group but their leader. If my mother's crimes are my own than so are yours. Would you like to help me count them? If we are talking punishments, remind what the punishment is for murder, betraying SunClan, mocking the Sun God, siding with out enemies, and oh yeah being married to Foxbane. You know that cat you just exiled" he mused still not moving from his position to challenge Bloodyrondo He wasn't going to play these mind games that had worked on his sister, if he want to make jabs and threats well two could play at that game. While he didn't want to get Pollendrone in any sort of punishment, he also wasn't going to back off until he had accomplished his goal of making even the most loyal of his followers doubt his leadership "Or does your punishments only apply to those you think of as nothing more than the stone under your feet. I really do feel sorry for those of you that choose to follow this Idiotbrother. You are either to blind to see what he truly is under all that body paint and perfume, or so misguided that you actually believe the words coming out of his mouth"
He turned to the crowd leaving his back to Bloodystar "Littlestar is and always will be my High Priestess"
Pollendrones eyes widened as blood splatters from Lionprides paw, her body tensed but she stayed where she was despite the urge to move forward. As Bloodystars gaze turned to her and he spoke her name she tore her eyes from Lionpride and looked to the High priest as he sentenced her to carry out the punishment of sleeping in the prison alongside the others, she felt a haze begining to engulf her at the speed in which everything was moving but she quickly shook it off. Her brow furrowed slightly and she took a breath before forcing her legs to obey her, as she started toward Lionpride something inside of her cracked a little, she didn't have time to figure it out before she pushed herself forward and slapped her paw over Luonprides mouth, an apologetic look beaming in her eyes. She had lost her mind, truly and wholly but it was too late now, it didn't stop there though. "Please stop!" The words startled even her as she stood there covering his mouth, stunned by her own actions. racer

“My loyalty lies with Sunclan. Not, necessarily, its leaders.” Shadeflower said dryly as she looked the high priest up and down. The tortoiseshell would have to choose her words carefully. She did not want to fuel the sparks that had been ignited by Lionpride. However, even she knew this was wrong. Shadeflower glanced over at Pollendrone briefly as her gaze traveled to Lionpride. She knew the tom would not risk her wellbeing now that she was chosen to be his mate… Shadeflower, however, had nothing to lose. Not anymore. The warrior stood tall and proud as she glanced around the clearing. She could no longer stay silent, could no longer fool herself into believing that this was right any longer.
“The only reason dissent has spread within our beloved clan is because of you, Bloodystar.” Shadeflower said loudly as she gazed at Bloodystar. “Because of your actions. Because of the way you handled a situation in which our high priestess destroyed a false deity. Are gods truly that easy to kill? If he were truly our Sun God then would the sun still be shining on us right now? Sharing his warmth and light? I for one refuse to believe that our Sun God, a neutral and benevolent being, would commit such a heinous crime or be killed that easily.”
Shadeflower turned her gaze towards the rest of the clan. “You are all fools if you truly believe such a thing. There is no doubt in my mind that this is nothing more than an attempt to force Littlestar’s family into obedience. An effort to ensure that any form of resistance is killed before it can be birthed.” The mottled tortoiseshell turned back towards the high priest, her green eyes flashing as she continued.
“You claim that you are determined to bring back our beloved god and yet what have you done in the meantime? Played matchmaker when it is not your place? You are no soothsayer, you do not hold that sort of power. Is it truly any wonder why anyone would doubt your actions when it seems you are nothing but fixating on punishing Littlestar even further?”
Arcticsong blinked slowly if that was even possible, "Give them the slip, what is that? I've never heard of a phrase like this," She asked curiously. Arcticsong's name truly matched her voice, it was almost musical, raising high in tone, but pleasing to the ear. She sounded like a mythical fairy if one existed, whisper soft, yet clear as a chime.

"You know, I'm surprised the motives of Littlestar's son are being questioned more than the Promised the Sun God had to force into initiation with a humiliating name because he couldn't follow the rules set out for him." Brilliantbeacon snickered, a few paces away, eyes as bright as ever. The large siamese leveled her gaze on Bloodystar with a smile. "With the Sun God dead, who's to say he even approves of this? After all, Bloodystar attacked the High Priestess. These were BLUE flames. If this were the Sun God, why wouldn't he choose red, or orange, or yellow, the traditional colors we use in our clan? Seems like an odd choice to me. Especially when the Sun God was living, my parent's wedding had no fire, and certainly not blue. And now, when he's supposed to be dead, these flames exist? Pardon me if I think you're either lying, or have turned to darker influences."
She watched Pollendrone slap a paw against her brother's maw, but all it did was fuel Brilliantbeacon on. "And you still haven't answered my question. You're not a Soothsayer, for one. You aren't a diviner, if any cat could understand the meaning behind this most likely fake 'omen', it's definitely not you. Case in point, the Sun God, never, not in your wildest dreams, would pair a she-cat who is not into toms, with a tom. And don't sell me some story about bringing in more kits. I have never desired to be pregnant. Are we supposed to assume that the Sun God is going to force even non cursed she-cats to bear kits? To marry those who they cannot come to love, even if they wanted to?" Bloodystar really made it easy to pick at him, to tear apart each and every argument he made. "Sorry to say, it doesn't add up in the slightest. If the Sun God truly wanted you in power, he could easily have done it the right way, by giving you a Soothsayer to interpret his omens. Instead, you have thrown away the very systems he put in place, and the position that rightfully knows his will remains vacant. If his word cannot be interpreted, and he has not given us someone who can interpret his omens, then he is not here with us at all, and all that does is paint you a fraud, Idiotbrother."

Ghazen. Sunnysmiles wondered where he was, what he thought of his future wife. The pressed herself against Lionpride's side when Bloody lashed out at him, a mix of shock and disgust on her face. If Ghazen cared, he could come up and try and stop her. But she couldn't back down, not when her clan had been reduced to this. "Is this the sort of clan you want?" Sunnysmiles couldn't stop Pollendrone, her bad leg bandaged up as she struggled to turn around to the crowd. "Is this the sort of leader you want? A leader who has no problems forcing his own petty goals onto you? Who would force my sister to marry him? Who doesn't care for you or your immortal souls? My kin was chosen first to control us, but it's clear he's willing to turn against anyone who doesn't do what he wants. Bloodyrondo's sort of dictatorship will not stop till we all bend to his will. Is that what you want? Is this the Sunclan you want?" There was desperation in her voice, a prayer that somehow they weren't alone up here. That someone had some sense.
Shadowking sat back as the chaos unfolded, his monotone expression only faltering when Brilliantbeacon once again brought up the fact that she was disgusted with being paired to him. The ebony tom got to his paws, deciding he had sat there long enough, nothing here was of intrest to him any longer, and with his supossed mates disobedience he felt it was only a matter of time before Bloodystar began to look to him with a punishment as he had done to his half-sister. "Crazy she-cat." He turned sharply and slipped away, mumbling under his breath as Brilliantbeacons voice faded from his ears.
Pollendrone didn't remove her paw from where she had placed it but her eyes connected with Sunnysmiles as she spoke, she wanted to respond to the she-cat but her throat had tightened and no words came, the only indication that she was not happy with any of this was the water budding in the corners of her now glassy eyes.
Ghazen eyes blazed with fury as Bloodyrondo announced his marriage to Sunnysmiles. The High Priest had no right. No one had the right. He loved who he loved, but his azure eyes betrayed none of those emotions. Only a violent swish of his tail tip betrayed them. He closed his eyes and sighed as Lionpride began to speak out. As much as he wanted to act against the High Priest, doing so was simply illogical. He could do nothing from prison, nor would speaking out change the High Priest's mind. If anything, it would entrench him deeper into the marriages. The tom boiled down his options to one: waiting.
His eyes rushed open when he heard Sunnysmile's voice. It took no time for his gaze to lock with hers. It begged her to do the same: wait. His gaze never leaving the she-cat, the pitch black tom weaved his way through the crowd of gathered cats until he was in the front.
"Lionpride, I have been nothing but patient with you, but remember, your actions no longer effect just you," Lionpride's argument had basically just become insults, and as much as Bloodystar had matured in the past few moons from his more easily agitated ways, bringing up his old cursed name as well as his lineage was a low blow. His flimsy composure broke and he decided to fight fire with fire, "Although I suppose it is in your nature to make the she-cats in your life suffer on your behalf. Aconite would be here today if it was not for you, but instead she lays rotting beneath the sunflower fields, no doubt appalled by your behavior. Your argument now is nothing but noise! If I truly judged a kit for the actions of his parents, then I would have no Clan at all after exiling Foxbane nor would I have married my wife..." His eyes flitted to Pollendrone and he gave her a weak smile, "Your success with be in my prayers."
He then withdrew from Lionpride, motioning for his loyal Warriors to circle the large tom and escort him back to prison. At the same time, however, he also motioned toward Brilliantbeacon and Sunnysmiles, "You two will suffer the same penalty as your brother. It seems you have forgotten the very first of our codes, the one Littlecrow used against me time and time again to get her way, and you know what, I learned to listen. And when I didn't? I paid the price. Brilliantbeacon and Sunnysmiles, just like Lionpride and Pollendrone, your mates will stay with you in the prisons until they decide you are worthy of freedom.”
Lastly, his eyes settled on Shadeflower. He looked a touch betrayed, perhaps even sad.
"Shadeflower… I had high hopes for you, but it seems your heart is even more poisoned than Lionpride’s. Denouncing the Sun God in such a way has always been ground for execution,” He let the suggestion hang in the air, making careful not to see Lionpride’s reaction, before continuing, “However… while it is true that I am not a soothsayer, as so many of you point out… I am the closest SunClan has to one right now and my heart tells me that you do not mean what you speak, that it comes from a place of ignorance, not hatred. So, I offer you a chance to prove yourself once more through initiation. You are no longer Shadeflower but initiate Weed, and you will spend your days tending to the prisoners and training with the Janus to set yourself back on the right path.”
By the time he was finished speaking, Bloodystar looked exhausted. He licked some blood off his paw then began to make his way back to the High Priest’s den, “Ryn, Mountain, see the prisoners back to their chambers. Make sure they are given nothing to eat tonight. Also, take Weed with you; Mountain, she is under your direct command.”
Pollendrone didn't react to the weak smile that Bloodystar gave her, and she remained frozen in place the only movement being her paw as it finally fell back to the ground. Her eyes followed Lionpride as they started to usher him away, jumping herself when she felt someone nudge her to follow. Right, i'm sleeping there now. She thought sadly, her eyes suddenly searching the camp for any sign of her father. Had he seen it all? Did he care? racer
The massive tomcat had been watching passively from beyond the rim of the camp, taking no part in the ceremony or the fight afterward. The words they flung at each other meant little to him, but when he recognized the end had come, he climbed to his paws with a grunt.
Mountain lumbered over to Weed and peered closely at her with empty, beaded eyes. Tiny. Insignificant. Unthreatening. She would not defy him. He may be an idiot but no cat was stupid enough to fight him. "Come," he rumbled, "restrain the big one." He gestured to Lionpride with one large paw.

"So you admit you're okay with forcing she-cats who aren't into toms to be mates with them, under the false pretense that the Sun God is actually sending an omen. With him gone, how do you know you're not being fooled by Selene, or StarClan, or any other group of ancestors or deity that hates SunClan. You still haven't answered me, Idiotbrother. Why blue, when Littlestar and Skipstep neither had fire, let alone blue fire, at their wedding? And the Sun God was very much alive and approving of that. Why in the world would someone who desires to marry a she-cat and not carry kits be wedded to one, especially when she hasn't been cursed?" Brilliantbeacon took a step forward, blue eyes blazing. "You claim to listen, but you never have, and you still don't. You haven't taken one lesson to heart, and if the Sun God were here, he would smite you. You claim to follow him, and yet all you've done is trample upon every single positive thing he ever did, and exemplify every negative aspect. You are pathetic. Perhaps I should start calling you Idiotcrow, because all you bring to SunClan is a curse."

Shadeflower, now renamed Weed had recoiled at the demotion. Anger danced within her green orbs as she glared at the high priest. “If standing behind my opinion means my heart is poisoned then I am tainted.” She spat briefly unsheathing her claws. She was quickly learning that her loyalty to her clan meant nothing if she questioned Bloodystar or his ideals. Now she was to be ordered around by this... giant of a tom. Weed looked up at Mountain, taking a step back as her instincts screamed at her to fight. Her muscles tensed. Fighting him would be foolish, but she would not be ordered about like a common rogue. She was a Sunclan warrior. She always would be, despite what the high priest said. The tortoiseshell refused to budge as she glared at Mountain.

Lionpride had been so intent on Bloodystar, that he didn't really realize what was happening until his mouth was filled with fluffy fur as Pollendrone pushed her paw into his mouth, he bent over coughing and hacking trying to the fur out of his throat as Bloodystar droned on. Finally getting the fluff out, she straightened up only to see cats closing in around him and Pollendrone. Having missed whatever it was that Bloodystar had said next, he shook out his pelt "I'm not done with this conversation" he growled, ignoring the cats for the most part, even as he felt paws on his pelt nudging him away from the front of the crowd until he saw Mountain looming over Shadeflower. His head snapped around locking eyes with Mountain, a silent warning
His eyes locked with Lionpride and he stared back at him, his face hard. He privately wondered why Lipnpride was staring — maybe he heard the order and didn’t want to be restrained? He should’ve thought of that before now, though.
“Are you scared? He’s soft,” Mountain assured Weed. He pushed her encouragingly in Lionpride’s direction, though it ended up a rough shove, being gentle wasn’t his style.
Ghazen flattened his ears as he heard his fate. Great. She'd definitely be worthy by the morning, and he'd never see her again. Still, he could only do that if Sunnysmiles did nothing else dumb. He leaped into action and jumped up next to Sunnysmiles and whispered into her ear. "Morning. Wait." He pulled away from her ear and turned his attention to Bloodyrondo. His gaze could have burned a hole in the back of his neck as he left. He unsheathed his claws and scratched them against the sandstone. The screech echoed in the gorge, and he continued his glare. He had to talk to the High Priest, but that was for another time, on Ghazen's terms.
"Were you even there, Brilliantbeacon? Of course there were flames at their wedding. Jetfire and I used the same candle!” Bloodystar snapped, whirling around to face the defiant she-cat head on despite his attempt to withdraw from the situation, “I am not going to fight against the Sun God’s clear intentions and neither should you. You are meant to be with Shadowking. Now shut up and someone for the love of Sun God take her back to prison!"
“Say no more, big brother. Come along now.” Discordantmelody brushed up against Brilliantbeacon’s side, purring up a storm, she loved all of this drama and Brilliantbeacon’s fiery spirit. She didn’t really want her to shut up but as long as Bloodystar thought she was being loyal then that was good enough, “You’ve got a date with your new lover-boy.”
