Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
This is the first wedding that goes along with our new arranged marriage system. It's between Wintrystar and Alvah Faris (Faith). I'm starting with them practically because Faith and I have been planning it for a while and also to give everyone a better idea of who it will work, what happens during them and what to expect in the future. Now this one will have the added moment of Alvah receiving his new name first and then the actual ceremony will happen. I'll make note of that transition though so no worries. If you have any questions while we're going through things feel free to message me, the discord chat, or ask in the thread. You are welcome to reply at the moment with any and all of your cats about how you feel about the situation, the actual wedding will start after faith has had a chance to reply.
Many things had been happening as of late. War was declared, chaos had erupted, and life was thrown for a loop. But the Gods had a solution to try and bring things back to normal or at least to a new normal. The Gods had sent a vision to Wintrystar of a future full of prosperity and the ideals of marriage. An announcement was made to the clans about the vision the morning after she received it. From that day forward, the Knight of the Stars and the Knight of the Wise had been given a task of collecting up all the eligible bachelors and bachelorettes of the clan to assemble arranged marriages. With arranged marriages, the clan would prosper with purebloods and happiness. At least that was the ideal.
To set the tone of how things would work, Wintrystar announced that she would be the first to be married under these new terms. She did not say to whom but stated the date it would happen and assured the cats of the clan that it would be to someone of WinterClan lineage. It was all she gave before ending her clan meeting and would speak nothing more on the matter. But the day was now here and all were curious of what would happen. She had spent the whole day before secluded away with her mate-to-be in prayer to the Gods for a happy, faithful, and fruitful life together. They were presented with gifts from the Knight of the Stars to decorate each other with in order to show how they felt about the one they were about to marry. In a moment, they would begin the walk from her den to the center of camp were they would be on display for the whole of the clan to witness as they proclaimed their marriage to one another. It would be a public affair as all marriages and divorces would be from this day forward. They were merely the start of it all.
Wintrystar was decorated with the chosen pieces from her lover for this special day. She stood tall and proud at the entrance to her den, gazing out towards all of the clan gathered. They were curious, confused, and mystified by what was about to accrued. Rumors, questions, and concerns had been circling throughout the camp since the original announcement of the arranged marriages and now they would see it first hand. Stepping forward, clearing her throat, the fierce Sovereign of the clan began with her first order of business, announcing her mate-to-be and his new name.
"Cats of WinterClan! For a while now, you have asked me about the new decree from our Gods and today I have answers and an example. I shall be wed today to show you the strength and power our Gods have and the gifts they have granted us over the moons. They have been kind to us and shown us more mercy and guidance than StarClan ever did. And today we take their gifts and honor them tenfold with the following of their decree. They have presented me with a great choice in mate, and guided him here to our doorstep moons ago for this very reason. He comes from great lineage and pure WinterClan heritage. He will be called by a new name, gifted a new title, and become mine on this day." She turned towards the tom beside her and called his current name out loud. "Alvah Faris came here as a prisoner, but the Gods have shown me that he is much more than that. His blood stretches back to Understar, a leader of our past, and shall be linked to our future. From this day forward, you are a full member, recognized before the clan and the Gods. You shall be known as Howlingnight, named for night you arrived in which the Gods howled your coming home in the winds of the storm. The Prince of Winter, the Husband of the Sovereign."
Alvah Faris dipped his head, listening to his new name he rose his head as Howlingnight. Howlingnight wore long silvery grey feathers along his shoulder blades, tracing over where his wing like fur markings were. These feathers stood on end, looking like a pair of wings, draped in frost. Dark roots curled loosely around his neck like a layered scarf. On either side of his shoulders were animal skulls kept in place by the roots. His cold blue gaze was made paler by the painted white stripes outlining his eyes as he stood beside Wintrystar. Watching Wintrystar speak his lips felt dry as he took in her words of honor towards him. He found it surprisingly hard to take, like he wanted to dismiss it, but instead kept his head held high, stoic as always.
"I love you, Wintrystar," He said turning back to face her, adjusting the camellia flower he chose for her into place behind her ear. Howlingnight turned to look at Snowbunny who stood behind them. Their wedding backdrop was a large maple tree, its red leaves drifting past them.
Snowbunny nodded to Wintrystar as she finished, "Today we're gathered beneath the night sky so that our God of life, symbolized by the aurora and our Goddess of Death, symbolized by the moon can witness destined love be united in holy matrimony. If there is anyone who objects, speak now or forever hold your peace," He called out.
Howlingnight growled loyally, "Are you trying to ask for someone to sabotage us?"
"What if the divine disagree? We must give them a chance to give us a sign if this is against their wishes, you did not ask for their permission, correct?" Snowbunny countered lightly, but stared to the starry skies, waiting.
Silverfury was... doubtful. Doubtful about this Alvah Farris guy, to be clear. The tom had not been born or raised in WinterClan, having only just recently been promoted from prisoner. He just didn't seem like a good match for Wintrystar. Silveryfury, he'd been born and raised here, had blood purer then even the Sovereign... but she settled with this runt instead. Ah, well. He favored the concept of arranged marriages and he had to remind himself that Howlingnight had Understar's blood. Nobility was important, too, even if the blood was mixed.
"Wow, a marriage!" Brindlekit squeaked, her celadon eyes bright and shining as she watched the two betrothed approach one another. She loved how they were all dressed up, it was marvelous. She turned to the kit sitting nearest to her and cocked her head, "Who do you think you'll be paired with in the future?"
Sinfulkit hated Wintrystar and Howlingnight's guts. She was busy playing with a half-frozen moss ball all by herself by the nursery, swatting it against the wall hard enough for it to bounce back to her so she could swat it again.
Since the announcement of the new Arranged Marriage system, Poalrblast had seen an ounce of hope of regaining his mother's approval. Had searched high and low for someone that would be approved by his mother, and just the other day, when the wedding was first announced, he'd approached Stormsurge about his proposal. He was still waiting on an answer from her, but he was hoping by choosing Jaguarpaw, even though he has no feelings for her, that he'd be back in his mother's good graces. It was a long shot, but it was the last card he had of going back to the cat he used to be. But he questioned if that's who he wanted to be? The problem was, he didn't know. He'd only ever known life as his mother's perfect son and was lost without that title and role. Who was he now if not the pureblood enthusiast she'd raised? Who could he become if he walked away from it all and changed into someone new and improved? He wasn't sure he was brave enough to make that change, at least not alone. Sitting beside Rosettepaw, he spared her a glance, wondering what she thought of all of this. Phantom
Pineflurry was excited for his own marriage. He'd been mates with Frostfire for moons now, and the two loved each other dearly, but how he wanted to have a public affair to express that love to the other tom. Gazing upon Wintrystar and Howlingnight, he dreamed of the day it was his turn to stand up there and confess before the whole of the clan and the Gods above, his love for the tom he called his. neverstarstar
Rowanstrike was nowhere pleased about this war or new marriage thing. The tom was finally getting used to clan life and now this. If it wasn't for the fact that this was the first place he and his brother were truly safe, then he'd leave now. But Birchtalon came first in his eyes, and now Chestnutspeak too. The two brothers had basically adopted her as their little sister and there was no way he was abandoning her now. Besides, he was sure Birchtalon was thrilled with this new system. With a roll of his eyes, he turned his gaze on the couple about to be married. Consuela
Frevidsummer had taken her place near the nursery with her adopted kits, Brindlekit and Rosekit. Hearing Brindlekit speak up she smiled, pleased that the little one was just as excited as she was for the event. Marriage seemed like such a lovely thing. Though she wasn't sure how she felt about being forced into the affair, but she was sure she'd find love in the long run. "You have a long time to think about it Brindlekit, so don't worry about it just yet. I'm sure the Gods will bless you with someone special." racerJadie
"I don't want to be greedy. The Gods already gave me you, after all!" Brindlekit said as she leaned into her adoptive mother's side, purring all the while. The little dilute tortoiseshell she-cat fit right into mountain life almost as if she'd been born there, "When are you gonna get your mate, mama?" pao

Rainpuddle sat near the edge of the crowd that gathered to watch the ceremony It was quite beautiful she had to admit, but the idea of being forced into a marriage with someone she did not know did not sit well with here. Maybe Winterystar and Howlingnight were in love, but why did that mean she had to force everyone else into a marriage. A frustration burn within her at the idea and she shook her head, pulling herself out of her thoughts. Bright blue eyes looked upwards and refocused on the ceremony unfolding before her.

Senescence and Fia Cendrillon had been invited by Alvah Faris to attend the wedding. After all, they were his mother and sister. And, despite the harsh note Fia and Alvah had left off of, Fia would never miss her brother's wedding.
Wintrystar had tried to push them into a corner, away from everyone, and it was rather clear they weren't really meant to go anywhere. After all, Fia Cendrillon was a DayClan Immortal Council member, and to say WinterClan probably didn't want her there was an understatement. But, they'd been allowed here, or at least, 'tolerated' for the moment. Agamede had offered to stay behind and watch the Internal Affairs district in Sen's absence, as she usually did, though she'd sent along a small talisman she'd made as a wedding gift to him.
Luckily, Senescence was especially tall, and though Fia wasn't as tall as she, she wasn't exactly small, so they had a decent view.

And wherever Senescence went, her daughter Lorelei Manina was likely to follow. And why would she not for her own brother's wedding. Though she listened to the ceremony half-heartedly, more picking through the horderves that were laid out. It was all pretty standard stuff by her standards. "Is that whole thing true, bout Understand and all that?" She at least had the decency to lean over and whisper the question to Senescence, half chewing through a mouse. Honeystorm
Thunderpurr slipped through the crowd before finding her sister Rainpuddle and sitting next to her. It was an awfully boring event for her. The idea of marriage, much less a forced one, was not exactly something that adhered to her style. She looked like she fit in though, with flowers and snowflakes stuck to her long grey fur. "Hey Sis. Enjoying the show?" Thunder asked, a hint of sarcasm on her voice. hals

Rainpuddle turned to glance at her sister and let out a soft snort at her question. “It could be betterz” She replied, her voice sardonic on nature. She rolled her eyes and lifted her eyes back to the ceremony. “Do you think it’s gonna be like this when they force us into a marriage we don’t want?” The snow white she-cat asked with a hardened edge in her tone.

Leekkit didn't know what was going on and why so many cats had gathered, but he nodded along with Wintrystar's moving lips like every bit of the silence made sense. Snowkit was sitting on his right and squinting up at the leader in confusion. The concept of marriage was still foreign to him, but there was more to his puzzled state than that. She kept mentioning Gods, but he had always thought those were make-believe. She also spoke as though every cat had been asking her the same question, but that didn't add up. He never asked her about a new decree... right? Slowly, he pulled his blue eyes from the she-cat to gauge the reactions of those beside him. His eyes narrowed further when he noticed Leekkit nodding with every word the she-cat said. Wasn't he deaf? Staring down at his paws, Snowkit began to contemplate the mysteries of the world around him.
Rose kit leaned into her sister eyes brimming with curiosity and questions about the ceremony. “Momma... can we get married now?” She asked suddenly purring “I want To get presents just like Wintrystar! She looks so pretty” Unlike her sister, Rosekit stood out in the crowd. Her red bengal pelt starkly contrasting against the snow. She was having a harder time adapting to their new environment, always feeling cold and a little strange. But she had so much natural energy that it was difficult to pick up on unless you were really paying attention. Jadie
Dappledglacier made her way over to her brother, sitting down by his sister and wrapping her tail around her paws “I wonder who will be next”
Icyhaven stood near the front of the crowd. He never expected for his sister to be the first to get married. He had to admit she was rather beautiful. The camellia flower, the maple tree, the atmosphere it was all a beautiful ceremony. He was happy for her and could see how happy she was. He eyed his new brother in-law and didn't know how he felt about him.

Flickeringflames sat next to her brother as the pair watched the wedding in silence. The free-spirited she-cat couldn't understand why anyone would want to tie themselves down in such a way, despite being happy for her leader. The dark chestnut colored warrior looked over to her brother, who was crouched down slightly so that he wasn't towering over the rest of her clanmates. She leaned in close so she could whisper in his ear. "Would you ever want to be married like this?" Talonstrike flicked his ears and let out a soft grunt as he glanced at his sister with a shrug. Flickeringflames rolled her eyes. "Of course you would, you hopeless romantic.."
Rosettepaw sat at Polarblasts side with her eyes lifted toward Wintrystar and Howlingnight, she had never seen a wedding before but felt happy that the Soveriegn had found somebody to love and that loved her. She wasnt sure yet how she felt about the arranged marriages that would soon start to take place, but there was still a tinge of anxiety twirling in her chest. She kept her eyes forward until she felt Polarblasts gaze on her, turning her head she looked up at him and smiled. They had gotten closer, and after learning about his mother disowning him and seeing him in such a low state she felt foolish for ever thinking he was an arrogant jerk, it wasnt completely his fault. "This is the first wedding I've ever been to, do you think I should have brought a gift for them?" Her eyes widened as the thought popped into her head and she let her pale eyes dance around the clearing to see if anyone else had prepared something for the couple before looking back at Polarblast. pao

The auburn and brown she-cat blinked in... excitement? Confusion? Desire? As she watched the wedding proceedings. She was not born in WinterClan... not really anyways. Sweetcrema was half WinterClan and half rogue. She was lucky to be chosen of her siblings to live among the WinterClan cats. She assumed Winterystar would never consider her blood worthy of a marriage in her clan. The soft she-cat had resigned herself to this reality. She sat a ways off silently watching. Her feathered tail wrapped around her paws.
The ceremony continued without a hitch, no signs from the Gods above stating that they did not approve of the arrangement. Wintrystar stared her new mate down with true love in her eyes, though none else could see the rare moment of emotion. Her face remained neutral, unmoving, but as always, her eyes told the truth. Howlingnight would forever be privileged to see the oasis at the center of the storm that none had ever seen before. The two lovers waited for the next set of instructions to be given by Snowbunny in order to continue the wedding. Today was a time for cheer and celebration, but all knew in the back of their minds that soon they would be at war with DayClan. The first battle was soon to come, and WinterClan planned to be victorious. But for now, a wedding would happen, and happiness would be rejoiced before the Gods at such a joyous moment.
Polarblast smiled at Rosettepaw and spoke in a soft voice. "I'm not sure. I didn't bring anything, though I wasn't sure I was supposed too...." Had he screwed up his chances yet again? All by not bringing any offers for the wedding? Starting to panic, the tom sat frozen and stiff beside the student.
Frevidsummer smiled at her two adopted daughters, speaking softly to them in a whisper. "Soon. It will only happen with the Gods believe it should be. May the bless us with love. And if they can not do that, then at least for happiness for us with whoever they give me." She wasn't concerned with being forced into a marriage, would take it in stride as she did all things. But she would like love, as all cats would. Happiness came first though, right up there with her family. Both were very important to her, family and their happiness more than her own.
"You can have the presents so long as I get the cutest tom!" Brindlekit teased, leaning right back into her sister, the two of them with thick as thieves. She smiled up the Fevidsummer next and said, "I'm sure the Gods will send you the perfect tom next. He'll bring you gifts and be really cute, I'm sure! And then we can have a daddy. Wouldn't that be nice, sissy?" racerpao
"It's hard to say, but hopefully one of us. WinterClan has very few cats with blood as pure as ours," Silverfury responded, not leaning into Dappleglacier's touch but also not pulling away. He was never a very affectionate tom although when he was a kit had had been glued to his mother's side, "Do you have your eyes on anyone, sister?" racer

"Oh no, were we supposed to bring gifts?" Flickeringflames hissed quietly at her brother. The fur along the back of her neck rose nervously as she heard the word whisper amongst her clanmates. Talonstrike rolled his eyes and nudged a few gemstones forward that he thought would bring the couple luck. Flickeringflames let out a soft sigh in relief
