Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Summersolstice takes her children out for an early morning patrol and they come across Rasputin, a tom intending to come into SunClan and take it over since SunClan appears weakened with the death of the Sun God. Unfortunately Summersolstice sees right through him and advises him to go elsewhere trying to avoid her children seeing her be sympathetic to this cat whom she assumes is still mated to her sister 1bitterchildFlurryofstarsCleaver)
Early patrols were nice. It was light enough with the suns rising rays that her SunClan raised kits liked it, but still dim enough for her to feel at home in the darkness. It was a good balance she felt, and it helped get her kits ready to start their day. She glanced back at them. "Come along now, I promised Foxbane we'd have the rogue border thoroughly checked before..." She trailed off. With the Sun God gone now, prayers had been... awkward. "Well before breakfast." She said trying not to let her slip show.
Radiantpaw had no issues with this. She thought it was super cool how Littlestar had slain the Sun God. To her it didn't seem like a big deal. After all Littlestar even said the Sun God would come back along with a new Soothsayer showing up. It would all be good. "I wonder if we'll find anyone on the border today! Jetclaw was talking the other day about NightClan scent being really strong on the border lately! No fights yet but who knows!"
Summersolstice's heart clenched at the words, but she did her best to not let it show. It pained her to know that Flamingstar was so keen on dragging her former clanmates, some of her kits even to war. She'd been doing her best to keep busy in the clan, but the fears were growing, and she was wondering if she needed to take drastic action.
Far from the SunClan camp, he was planning his revenge.
Moons ago he had been in line to become the next leader. His father had scorned him not once but twice, and he had removed that obstacle; he was about to place himself in charge when Kerrigan usurped his family. Against his better judgment, he had fled with his mate to live in NightClan and steal a litter of kits to ensure their entrance. Everything had gone downhill since then. He'd been patient, he worked with her sister and helped his mate ascend to the leadership, and then it was all taken away from him again, and at their lowest point, she had cheated on him. It wasn't enough that Soaringbird had derailed his life once, she had to continue doing it over and over again, and he was sick and tired of it. He left her alone.
SunClan, their God lost, their Soothsayer departing, and their leader recently deceased, was ripe for the taking.
Rasputin stayed up to watch the stars one last time before he was ruler of a clan. He would not have this luxury later on, but it would be a worthy sacrifice. When the sun began to rise once more, he rose as well and headed for SunClan.

Dancingpaw traveled at the back of the group with her eyes lowered. She wasn't rude enough to deny her mother company, but that didn't mean she liked being around her. Looking at Summersolstice was a constant reminder of her tainted blood. Her fluffy tail dragged in the grass behind her but her self-image hardly mattered around these cats. Besides, she was mourning the Sun God's death--no, murder. Her faith in SunClan's authorities had been perfectly solidified. Now, she wasn't so sure. Anyone who opposed the Sun God was a heretic that had no place in the Clan. Even if the god would come back soon, he never should have needed to leave.
Radiantpaw's words about NightClan made her chest tighten. It was the only clan she didn't fully despise because of their split litter. She wondered if Radiantpaw even remembered. Vibrantpaw? "Maybe Driftingpaw will be there," she muttered neutrally, flicking her eyes up to her sister's back.
"Oh maybe!" Radiantpaw meowed eyes lighting up at the thought of seeing their brother, while Summersolstice grimaced. "We only saw him and Sparklingpaw briefly at the gathering before everything went down. But maybe we'll catch them before they go to bed."
"We are going to the border that we don't share with a clan," Summersolstice reminded her kits mildly. "But we can keep an eye out towards the NightClan border and see if we spot your siblings."
But as they made their way to the Northern border and began to patrol it, Summersolstice could see no signs of either of her sons. Which was both a relief given the time... but also a shame as she missed all her kits. Fierydaemon, Ashfall, Spiritedblaze, Scorchedearth, Tuskblood, Ironjaw, Sparklingpaw, Driftingpaw. All of them in NightClan. All of them now under Flamingstar's antagonistic rule against them.
She shook herself and focused on the patrol. When a familiar scent reached her nose. Her eyes widened and she lifted her head squinting her eyes to try and spot him.
What was Rasputin doing around SunClan's borders? Was he and Soaringbird returning to the clans after they'd been thrown out thanks to Flamingstar?
She winced, surely they both knew that if they joined SunClan they'd have to go through initiation and she doubted Rasputin would pass. The tom had his delusions of grandeur and with the Sun God now gone, who knew what lay ahead there. As much as she'd like them to be close to her... she couldn't bear for them to take the chance.
She glanced back towards her kits trying to tell if they were paying attention, wondering if she could slip away-
"Oh! OH! I smell a cat!" Radiantpaw declared loudly turning to both her siblings, making Summersolstice wince, her daughter was fixed on the direction that she'd detected Rasputin.

Dancingpaw perked up as Radiantpaw turned to her and Vibrantpaw. She sniffed the air to confirm that there really was a scent and her heartbeat quickened with excitement when there was. Finally, something to distract herself from all of these emotions. "Well, what are we waiting for?" she asked impatiently.
The wind ruffled his fur as he headed into SunClan land, his head held high and confident. He felt right for the first time in moons. This was where he belonged: a landscape of his own, a territory he could shape and improve, a clan that would listen to him and respect the peace brought on by his rule. Rasputin could be ruthless, but it was merely one way to pursue his goals; he would be a fair and just leader. He just needed to prove it to them.
With the scent blowing downwind he did not catch the scent of the other cats nearby, but he heard their voices. They sounded like young cats, apprentices perhaps; they would make for good followers to begin with. Rasputin strolled their way, and his eyes lit up with a cruel glint when he spotted a familiar-looking she-cat.
"Sister of mine," he greeted, his voice deep and rough as ever like he was choking on gravel. Though living with Soaringbird had smoothed out some of his quirks and improved his social skills, it did nothing to dull the edge of his piercing gaze as it bore through her. "Come to escort me to my camp?"
Summersolstice let out a sigh but did her best to maintain a pleasant expression. "Rasputin," She greeted stiffly. "I'm glad to see you are alive after Flamingstar took over." The 'and kicked you and Soaringbird out' went unsaid. "You look," She trailed off, not liking the look in his eyes. "well." She finished.
"Mama, what's he talking about escorting to his camp?" Radiantpaw asked quizically. "That's awfully rude since Littlestar doesn't even call it that, and she's the High Priestess." She glanced at her sisters for them to back her up.

At Rasputin’s sudden appearance, Dancingpaw’s fur bristled. She was just as eager to chase him out as her sister’s were, but the words exchanged between him and Summersolstice made her pause. Clearly, they knew each other. And what did he mean by “sister”? Slowly, her gaze shifted from the tom and she gave her mother a quizzical look.

"Alive and well," he replied, showing his teeth in his cruel, lopsided smile. Where his stiff manner had once been awkward, now it was almost intimidating, the tension in his muscles growing as he prepared to strike if necessary. "Flamingstar could only push her clan so far. If she tried to harm us, she would have lost the takeover then and there. She's a poor ruler, but she understands some of the rules," he acknowledged.
His sharp gaze dropped to the apprentices and his muzzle wrinkled distastefully. "You should teach these ones some respect. I'll set up proper mentors for them once I'm in charge. They won't suffer this indignity much longer."
“Rasputin I don’t know what you’ve heard since I saw you last.” Summersolstice began, voice becoming more firm as she straightened up. “But this won’t be like NightClan, not even your connection to Soaringstar will grant you authority. There are different rules here... and since you’re my sisters mate I must urge you to take your plots and go elsewhere. This is notthe clan for them,”
Radiantpaw scoffed, “Teach us some respect? You’re the one acting like you’re gonna walk in and suddenly be in charge! That’s littlestar’s job!”
Rasputin looked disappointed. "You fail to understand. That is alright. You will know in a few days. I ascended the throne once, in BrookClan. I will do so again." His gaze drifted down to Vibrantpaw. "I'll make an example of this one first."
