It was sun-high when Snowthorn had returned to DayClan's camp, having just finished some easy hunting. The strides he took to the food pile were long and precise, and his head was raised as if he was showing off the plump prey in his mouth. When he dropped the kill in the pile, he licked his fangs and turned to gaze at the cats around the camp with interest. There was one in particular he was looking for and had been hoping to come across for a few days now. It wasn't easy to locate them when they lived in Primal Instinct, and Snowthorn would never put a paw in that group's territory as revolting as they all were. After a moment, his blue eyes found the tom in the distance. It didn't matter who the maverick was with or what they were doing, the imperial had no reason to care. He had business to attend to.
His white, lean figure glistened under the sun's harsh glare as he walked over to the black tom. Snowthorn smiled as he stopped in front of him, though it didn't reach his eyes. "Leucisticcrow is it?" he mewed importantly. "I've been meaning to speak with you if you have the time." The politeness was a mere formality to keep up appearances and nothing more. Something he assumed the other tom would understand, if Leucisticcrow was familiar with who was high-class in DayClan. One could never know when it came to those with one paw in two or more homes.
Leucisticcrow was sharpening his claws against a stone when Snowthorn came by. Even at a distance Leucisticcrow was massive, but up close it could almost make a cats heart drop given his sheer size, "That's correct," He said as he continued to file his claws without looking up. His ears perked up as the tom talked, this time he lifted his radioactive green eyes to Snowthorn's, a crooked smile rising to his lips, "Yeah sure, sounds interesting," He said dismissively. His voice alone sounded like trouble, it was low, but his chipper tone and elongated words made it come off taunting, like he was toying with him.
Nonetheless Leucisticcrow did get up to follow along with Snowthorn, "So what's up? Is this about patrols or does a soft hearted bunny like you got someone on a hit list, but you can't muddy your paws." He said leisurely, as though moving from the topic of patrols to hired attacks against another cat were common conversations. Maybe they were for him considering where he typically resided, but there was a glint in his eyes that suggested he was testing the tom. Seeing what made Snowthorn tick, guessing what all of this was about. To him Snowthorn had always been in the background, a minor character in his life. Everything felt a little distorted to know that Snowthorn had intentionally sought him out today.

Up close, Leucisticcrow was a monster of a cat and his size and claws sent a small shiver down Snowthorn's spine. He was just slight of average himself so the tom appeared especially intimidating; however, it was these qualities that had lured the imperial to the maverick today. Leucisticcrow's attitude and tone did little to inflate Snowthorn's ego, but he wasn't denied his "request". That was a good sign. His ears flickered as the tom began to guess what his intentions were in a mocking tone filled with implications and insults. Snowthorn's calculating gaze hid the irritation he felt inside. The maverick's casual willingness to discuss hired hits was so typical of revolutionary scum. Snowthorn was, however, impressed by the accuracy in his guessing.
Snowthorn hummed as the other cat spoke, but ultimately, he chose to ignore the questions. Sensing the challenging tone, he wished to jump to the chase and remind the little maverick of his place in DayClan: under him. "Don't you feel your talents are wasted in Primal Instinct?" he questioned, slyly.
Leucisticcrow glanced down at him, usually he could see something past the eyes. Some deep seeded trauma, uncontrollable hate, something simmering just above the surface, but Snowthorn looked average, maybe a bit more handsome than the average cat. However most of Snowthorn's appearance looked generic in Leucisticcrow's eyes, just an everyday warrior. He still couldn't put a claw on exactly what he exactly wanted him for. Snowthorn did seem kind of cocky approaching him so maybe he angered the wrong person. Leucisticcrow scoffed, then turned his head away uneasily, "I don't know how to explain this to you, but unlike clan cats, league cats love to slack off. So yeah, everyone's potential is hella wasted in Primal Instinct, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Why, what do you think I should be doing instead?"
His black tail briefly swept the two feathers Snowthorn had, a smile played at the Leucisticcrow's lips as he did. Surprisingly Leucisticcrow had two feathers as well, for as much as he was a league cat he still held some pieces of DayClan's culture close.

Hearing that league cats were lazy hardly came as a surprise to him. Snowthorn had always taken them for sadistic, single-minded cats with a faulty group structure. The imperial had a hard time believing that anyone, Leucisticcrow included, would want to be a part of Primal Instinct. Though, once you've dangled an apprentice off a cliff, maybe that's the best option you have left. At the rustle of his feathers, Snowthorn glanced at the maverick's pair. His eyes glinted for a moment. Clearly, the tom had some respect for DayClan if he still wore them.
"Well, for starters, I think you've had plenty of time to slack off. I think you should be living in DayClan full-time and fulfilling your duty as a maverick." He paused for a moment before casually adding like an afterthought, "No one's claimed you as their servant yet."
For once Leucisticcrow looked visibly taken aback at the mention of staying in DayClan full time. For one, no one in DayClan ever felt that way about him. He was constantly causing trouble, for most people it was a vacation for him to go back home. But two the Snowthorn mentioning him being a Maverick felt off. Hearing his next statement made him pause all thoughts, for a brief moment fear flashed past his eyes. Immediately an uneasy smile crossed past his lips, "I mean, no... No one's dared to have me as a servant. Probably because they know I would snap them in half if they ordered me around."
Up until this moment no one had bothered him, sure he endangered cats lives every now and again, but he contributed enough! Everyone seem to have the consensus that some of him was good, but too much of him around was bad, but not this guy! He had worked hard to convince everyone to not count on him for anything including others safety, but now Snowthorn was calling him out on his bluff. The truth was that Glowstar would absolutely side with Snowthorn if he refused to act appropriately as a maverick. "Uhh, y'know what, I got a thing I should get going to, bright brigade business and all," He lied because at this point he could feel the walls closing in around him.

Now this--this--was what Snowthorn lived for. The uneasiness so visibly apparent in a cat twice his size and caused by him no less. He knew the scales had been tipped in his favor when he had approached Leucisticcrow, but finally, the maverick was seeing that too. Of course, Snowthorn knew he was playing a risky game with this cat. If it came down to a fight, he wouldn't win and it would probably end in his death. From how this conversation was going, the imperial didn't think a fight would happen any time soon though. No. Snowthorn had said plenty that could have made Leucisticcrow snap, but here he was, trying to flee. Snowthorn's lips curled into a smirk, but they were far enough from other cats for such a slip-up not to hurt.
"You should be honored at the opportunity to be claimed..." Snowthorn said, stepping closer to the tom despite his babbling about bright brigade nonsense, "by me." There, he slammed his intentions on the table now. "Tell me, why do you seem so scared of the concept?" He wanted to know what Leucisticcrow was thinking right now. What was it that he thought Snowthorn's reasonings were behind this? Did he think it was a punishment or a way to control him for the good of DayClan? Or had the maverick seen past his mask and guessed at the darker, ulterior motive behind all of this...
Leucisticcrow's tail lowered along with his pride as he sat down listening to Snowthorn. For a moment he was hunched over before remembering to straighten up because he was in his Imperials presence. He dipped his head to Snowthorn, "it is an honor to be claimed by someone of your class, Snowthorn," he promised him without meaning it.
Most embarrassing day of his life, getting bossed around by some clan bunny.
His acid green eyes stared right through Snowthorn's cool blue gaze at his question before the ferocity of his look mellowed into a lazy grin, "You might be too young to know this, but there used to be a group called Toxicity. They kidnapped me when I was a kit and tested all kinds of herbs on me. I was forced to accept whatever they did to me, just lie down and take it... It was great! But then I got rescued and suddenly I had all these commitments," He groaned in distress before continuing on, "Before I would just show up, get tested on and then had the rest of the day free. Now I gotta hunt, make sure the idiots in the league don't do something stupid. Ensure all of these DayClan bunnies don't get eaten by wolves. I miss when I didn't have to commit myself to something or someone. But at the same time I feel bad not committing myself to something or someone so it's whatever I guess."

Leucisticcrow had practically submitted to him and that was enough of an acceptance to please Snowthorn. He doubted the maverick respected him or felt honored by the claim, judging by the harshness in his gaze. Snowthorn's mask didn't crumble from the ferocity there though. His confidence was much too high for that now. But then, Leucisticcrow seemed to relax and as the tom told his story, Snowthorn decided to sit and listen intently. It was true that he was young enough for Toxicity to mean very little to him, so he took what might have been an insult lightly. Hearing any explanation from the maverick so soon and so openly was quite surprising to the imperial. He had expected a rocky start and maybe some denial from the lower party. Snowthorn tried to see things from Leucisticcrow's eyes but all he could picture was a lazy tom that would rather play the role of a helpless kit than be a useful member to any clan or group. Pathetic, really.
Still, he nodded along and hid his disapproval. In fact, by the time the maverick had finished, Snowthorn wore an expression of compassion with a hint of concern. "I can see how a change like that could be so jarring for you," he said softly. "I don't want my claiming you to have a negative impact though. I'm not trying to punish you. Honestly, I believe there's a way for both of us to get what we want from this."
"I don't want my claiming you to have a negative impact though. I'm not trying to punish you."
"Oh okay!" Leucisticcrow chirped standing up and began walking away, but his ears perked at what the tom said next. He barely mauled it over in his mind before already deciding he was curious, "I'm listening." For as much as he didn't like commitment, he did love a good adventure. He expected Snowthorn to force him to work with a lot of overly polite please and thank-you's, but this perked his interest. Even if this ended negatively for him he wanted to see where this was going. Maybe Snowthorn wasn't the sheltered bunny he thought he was. Still he could already tell his whole family wouldn't let him live down that he was going to be a servant.

This was the second time the maverick had tried to walk away from him mid-conversation. It was like Snowthorn was dealing with a half-witted kit. Only much much larger. Still, he smiled and went on with his explanation. "Obviously, you'll be staying in DayClan now, but I'll still allow you to visit the league so long as you get my permission first." Snowthorn didn't like the idea of Leucisticcrow ever leaving DayClan's borders, but he knew it was going to happen whether he liked it or not. In the grand scheme of things, it didn't matter much anyway. "I'll also provide you plenty of downtime to do what you want outside of clan duties. And if there's anything I can do for you within reason, I will."
Snowthorn paused and his smile straightened out. His voice lost the chipper tone it had been carrying previously, taking on a lower timbre. "I expect your loyalty. Once I have it, we can get into what it is that I want." His gaze was as sharp as ice as he spoke. The silence that followed made it clear that the imperial was waiting for Leucisticcrow to respond to the terms and offer up something to sweeten the mavericks side of things. Snowthorn was also prepared for him to walk off again, which he would attempt to intercept this time.
Leucisticcrow gave a brief moody expression, asking permission or probably what would be more accurate, pleading wasn't exactly something he considered a freedom. Still though he composed himself, his gaze flicked in the other direction submissively, as he could feel Snowthorn's stare bore down onto him. Up until now he had stood tall, but hearing the icy tone in his voice he lowered his head, his gaze fighting to drop the cocky attitude he felt, but this was nothing new. He was a Primal Instinct cat, he served countless nemesis, but always made sure to not be close enough to any of them to be forced in situations like this. But now Snowthorn was essentially is new commander, if he was challenging him he had to back down. Especially when DayClan cats didn't give punishments like Primal Instinct did. He wouldn't mind a few beatings, but if he had to do apprentice chores he was going to scream. Plus even if Snowthorn wasn't as strong as him, he still had a powerful weapon. Telling on him to his mom Glowstar and that was a horrible fate.
"You have my understanding that I know my place as a maverick is to serve. I will obey your every word. Is that close enough?" He asked sheepishly, as he danced around pledging his loyalty and instead his services.

"For now," he said with the lift of his chin. He smiled at Leucisticcrow's submissive gesture and rose to his paws. "I'll start you off with an easy task." Snowthorn began to walk a slow circle around the maverick, dragging the tip of his tail against the tom's shoulders. "I'm sure you're aware that many of the cats here aren't particularly fond of you. You've caused trouble in the past and they expect more to come. So, let's make them second guess themselves."
His tail lightly brushed Leucisticcrow's feathers and Snowthorn committed them to his memory. "Be the best DayClan cat you can be. Volunteer your skills whenever you can and play nice," he purred.
It was a test to see if Snowthorn could really use the maverick the way he wanted. One that would be easily observable by him and others. Which was, of course, a bonus for Snowthorn himself. Once others got wind of who his servant was, they'd be dying to see the result. When they realized what a good boy Leucisticcrow could be, Snowthorn would be praised for it. Glowstar might even personally thank him for whipping the monster into shape.
For once Leucisticcrow felt completely humiliated and not in the good way. Being nice? What kind of reputation would he be setting, the compassionate warrior? He was already grimacing at the order as though Snowthorn had just told him to eat the grossest piece of prey. Instead he pushed back the disgust, there was little to do about it with the threat of being told on to his mom if he didn't comply. "Thank-you for this opportunity, Snowthorn," He forced the words out with a pulled back false grin that wavered at the corners of his lips. Already he was attempting to hold a kind image, but it was difficult when he wanted to stand up fully again. Maybe knock Snowthorn off his paws just so he wouldn't get too comfortable around him. But now he really didn't have the choice anymore.
(We could skip ahead a week. Leucistic could be doing good, but he talks to outsiders without any regard to keeping private information secret. So maybe Snow could confront him, but for once Leucistic defies any demands. If he gets punished for it I don't mind what it is. Or we can keep this day rolling, whatever you'd like!)

Snowthorn grinned as he completed the circle and faced the giant again. He was feeling rather pleased with himself at all of this, his skin tingling with excitement. "Good boy," he said and then, he turned his back on the maverick and walked away. They'd spoken enough for the day and Leucisticcrow seemed to get the message. Now all he could do was wait and see how the next few days went.
(Sounds good! --timeskip--)
A week had passed since Snowthorn had claimed his new servant. The maverick had followed his order well and was playing his part in DayClan. Other Imperials had noticed the change in behavior and Snowthorn had welcomed the many thanks. However, his good mood was ruined when he took a step back from the praise and really observed Leucisticcrow. The monster was playing nice sure, but he was playing too nice with the cats that didn't count and sharing private information. Maybe he knew or maybe he didn't, but these sort of things would have a negative effect on Snowthorn now too.
With his neck fur bristling slightly, he strode over to his servant with purpose. He was too furious to care what the tom was up to or who was around. "Do you have any awareness, maverick? Or are you really that dense?" He half whispered, half snarled. No pleasantries this time, Snowthorn was too angry for that.
"You're going to have to at least attempt to be a little more specific? Is this about that DayClan warrior being murdered in front of me. I told my sister to get over it, but honestly it didn't seem like my problem," Leucisticcrow shrugged, "Or is it that I talked to those SunClan warriors? Or about my mate leaving Primal Instinct and moving into DayClan?" He guessed.
For the most part he had been well behaved, he made sure to take his jobs seriously, he was in DayClan far more often. Now that his family had all moved into DayClan he came off much more devoted. This time though he didn't lower his head submissively, there were more cats around, plus it was easy to feel more confident about a situation the more time he spent apart from it.

Snowthorn noticed his servant wasn't displaying the submissive behavior he'd been expecting. Leucisticcrow had been so good last time, so what was it now? The backtalk wasn't very reassuring either... Glancing to either side of him, the Imperial realized that there were quite a few cats in camp--much more than what he'd consider ideal or acceptable--but he couldn't back out now. It wasn't like anyone was staring at them for the moment at least.
Forcing his fur to settle somewhat, Snowthorn straightened his spine to match the maverick's height the best he could. He needed to look like he had control, because he did. There was no question of that in his mind. "This is about you talking to outsiders with no regard to keeping private information private," he bit out the last word. "Although, the guesses you just made aren't helping your case much either."
Leucisticcrow watched Snowthorn's eyes skim along the crowd watching them. He half rolled his eyes before flinching at Snowthorn's words. His obedient demeanor clicking on like a switch as he let out a soft whine, "I'm sorry Snowthorn, I let you and DayClan down. I deserve to be punished so I'll leave DayClan for the weekend, maybe a little into the week day and pray to... S-Sa... StarClan! Yes, StarClan for forgiveness," He nodded as if his mind was clear now on what he was meant to do.
This couldn't have come at a better time, ever since he started living in one place people were breathing down his neck. There was so much more expectations, family values, and some weird obsession with loyalty among the clans that Primal Instinct never demanded. Even exchanging private information wasn't something he particularly wanted either. Ever since he saved the priest promise from a fox he was constantly being pressured to join SunClan. Objectively the worse clan there was, like who had that many rules?
Leucisticcrow patted Snowthorn with a solemn sigh, "See you on the other side Imperial. No... Friend," He said and for just a moment Snowthorn could catch his sly grin before it erased from his features completely as he tried to walk off. Walking off with his best defense after all.

The submissiveness returning to Leucisticcrow had comforted the Imperial greatly. Not only was it reassuring for him, because he was still half-expecting the maverick to lash out, but also for any of the bystanders that might have been watching. How wonderful it would be for them to witness him folding before Snowthorn. The warm, fuzzy feeling growing inside of him instantly dissipated when Leucisticcrow touched him. His white fur bristled at the contact and it took all of his restraint not to bare his teeth at the lesser cat before him. An Imperial should never be tainted by the touch of a maverick, especially one that may have been a forsaken if not for Glowstar's bias.
Catching sight of the grin on his servant's face, Snowthorn felt even more furious. He was not about to be played! Still mindful of those around him, he wanted to maintain his image. Chasing after the tom would do nothing for him, so he released a loud chuckle to catch his attention. "Now, now. You don't get to choose your own punishment," he spoke loud enough for him to hear. Smiling wide, he patted the ground in front of him and added, "Come back over, Leucie~. I haven't dismissed you yet."
Snowthorn's lack of movement was reassuring, but hearing his name made him tilt his head back in frustration before turning back to face him with a pleasant expression. He reflected the same fake smile Snowthorn had, "Of course," He said with forced politeness, "Snowy." His paws felt like heavy weights as he retreated back to his Imperial. He looked down at the space next to Snowthorn where he had gestured to his ears at first swerved in a pinned back motion before flattening as he sat down next to him. Despite Leucisticcrow's towering figure he slumped over like a kit awaiting punishment.
The entire thing blowed, Snowy was playing the nice guy act, which meant he was probably going to give him boring community service. He had to bite his tongue just to avoid making a sarcastic remark. There was only so much faked submission he could handle, before it became uncomfortable, like ticks on fur. But clearly the guy wanted to be the most respected cat in DayClan. If he could help he would, it wasn't like there was anything better to do. Well, maybe he'd be better at helping if he could actually be obedient and follow orders.
