Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cypressblaze cried out in pain when Satinlights drug her claws into his fur and kicked forward with her hind legs, shoving her shoulder as deep into the Janus's mouth as she could, gagging her. She then scratched at the white-furred queen and tried to pull away only for Skipstep to drag his claws down her face and assist in restraining her. The torbie she-cat howled in pain and began to flail blindly. Her wailing was cut off as pressure built on her windpipe, fangs against her throat. She gasped for air and felt her vision begin to blur. Was this really how she was going to die?
Where was Selene?
She'd been such a devout follower all her life yet felt as if the Moon Goddess had never truly been there for her. First Maplestar was stolen, then Oakshade. She was all alone in MoonClan and was just beginning to recover when those rogues came in and took leadership. Still, Selene allowed it... Cypressblaze cursed the thought almost as soon as she had had it. Gods weren't supposed to play such an active roll in the lives of their followers; when they did, you got cult like SunClan. She sent a prayer to her Goddess begging for forgiveness and eternity at her side. If this really was how she was meant to end as least she did so with Selene's name on her lips and spirit in her heart.
Oakshade drug his front paws beneath his chin and pushed up, breaking free of King's Bane just as fast as he had been pinned. His eyes blazed at his attacker and a primal part of him wanted to bite into that cat's throat and rip it out. In that second he terrified himself. Oakshade was normally so mellow, so opposed to spilling blood, and yet right now he wanted nothing more to be coated in the stuff, vent his rage, make them all pay... Cypressblaze's yowl broke through his stormy mind, "If you don't want to die, then back off." He growled and tensed his muscles, preparing to stream after Satinlights.
"Oakshade stop... You are going to get yourself killed, how is that going to help your sister... Oakshade please... for me?"
Tinymutiny's words stopped him dead in his tracks. He'd never even heard her say "please" let along beg him for anything. What had King's Bane said, something about how he may never meet his kits if he keeps this up? He'd ignored the warning before but as he looked at the judging eyes of his clanmates he knew it was a very real possibility. He looked back to his mate and tried to smile but couldn't. Oakshade had made up his mind.
"I'm sorry."
He lunging back toward Cypressblaze's attackers again. He knew that this left his back wide open for attack but right now he didn't really care. He had to save her, at any cost, family was everything to him and he would never forgive himself if he didn't do everything he could to save her. He sent a prayer to the Sun God that he would live through this, he and Cypressblaze both, and gave into that same blind rage from before as he leveled a blow aimed at the back of Skipstep's neck.
Tinymutiny felt a tear slide down her cheek, knowing what she had to do. Before another cat could make a move, she leaped into the air landing upon his back, front logs locking around his chest and back legs locking under his belly. She was to small for her weight alone to stop him, but she hoped it would be enough to make him pause. Oakshade had always put her safety over his own, this time it was her turn to save him. If he interfered, he would be dead before ever reaching his sister's body... Already warriors were leaping to their feet placing themselves between him and the scene before them as Cypress' corpse fell to the ground. "Sorry? Sorry isn't going to save your sister Oakshade" she mewed in his ear trying desperately to hold on "Sorry isn't going to keep you alive long enough to see your kits" she winced feeling him fight to free himself from underneath her, her legs wrapping around even tighter "Sorry means you won't get to spend another day with me" her claws began to dig in "and i'm not about to let that happen" Jadie
Skipstep's fangs cut deep; Cypressblaze knew that even if she were to somehow break away, there was no recovering from such a deep wound. She started coughing as blood began to burn its way down her throat. Choking on her own blood, huh? It was about as pleasant as it sounded. The corners of her muzzle twisted into a crude smile. How absurd. As her vision blurred she watched her brother and his mate struggle against each other. That was her only regret, letting him and Maplestar go. Of course she knew about their cross-Clan relationships the entire time. She wasn't stupid. Perhaps her death here was punishment for not doing anything about it when she could... Mousebrains, all of you... A single tear fell and she stopped moving entirely, dead.
Oakshade heard Tinymutiny's calls but they did little to sooth his rage. He wasn't of the mind to listen to even the sweetest commendations. The large brown-and-white tom, however, careful to keep his mate steady while he lashed out at the Warriors beginning to surround him. It was blind of course, he didn't land a single blow. It continued like this for a few tense minutes until he felt a burning wetness at his feet. For a moment, his foggy vision cleared. Blood? He followed the trail to its source and knew with one glance at his sister's unseeing green eyes that she was dead, "CYPRESSBLAZE!" His voice broke and he dropped to the ground, blood soaking into his white chest, ugly sobs shaking his body. There was no point in fighting anymore... "Cypressblaze... I'm so sorry... I... I..." Whatever he said next was incomprehensible.
