Espressokit had been playing with the other kits in the nursery when he tripped and fell. Crying his eyes out, the other kits collected around him trying to figure out what was wrong. His paw ached from rolling on it. Through his tears, no one could make out what the poor kit was saying as he cried out that his paw hurt.
Cinderpaw had been trying to practice fighting moves in the camp, but he just couldn't get the form right. Frustrated, the gray tom focused and tried again. And again. To no avail. Oh, he would never get this! A cry cut into his thoughts, and the former kittypet whipped his head in the direction of the sound. It was coming from the nursery. Panicked, he jumped up and ran toward it.
It wasn't uncommon for the fluffy grey kit to keep to himself nor was it uncommon for him to take naps with himself, especially his mother wasn't around. A cry of pain shook Centipedekit from his light slumber. A pair of yellow eyes blinked open, unfocused with the remainder of sleep as he glanced around to find Expressokit crying. His head rose slowly as he took in the small group of kits that surrounded the crying kit. Expressokit was younger than Centipedekit and alot more expressive in his emotions than Centipedekit was. The grey kit hesitated before rising to his paws, making his way to the kit with quiet curiosity. In the incomprehensible babble, Centipedekit noted the kit's injured paw as it rose slightly above the ground. Before he could speak up, Cinderpaw barged into the nursery. Centipedekit turned, staring at the apprentice for a moment before speaking up, his expression calm and serious "I think Expressokit hurt his paw." He spoke up turning back to the crying kit, his brows furrowing ever so slightly "You paw hurts doesn't it?"

Mochakit was fluttered around Espressokit at this point, fur fluffed up dramatically, "Cinderpaw!" He yowled when he spotted the apprentice, "is he dying?!" The small spotted kit was somewhat theatrical, given to over reaction. Now proved no exception as the young kit spun around wailing. The nursery was filled with his brother's crying and his panicked yowling. "Asterblossom! Wolfbee!"
Cinderpaw was alarmed. He didn't know what to do in this situation. His knee-jerk response was to comfort the kits and make the noise go away, so began there. "No, Espressokit certainly isn't dying." The large gray tom leaned in closer to the kit, attempting to avoid the spotted one dramatically running around in front of him. His mind flew to Chestnutpaw. She had told him something about healing when he'd met her, so he asked, "Don't you WinterClan cats have a vet or...something? To heal you." Maybe he should go find someone in the camp to help, but he didn't want to leave the kittens alone in case something else happened. And anyway, an older cat in the camp would surely hear the ruckus. "Just stay put, Espressokit. Don't move that paw."

Dartkit, so far observing the scene with a quiet interest, cocked his head. "Vet?" He hadn't the slightest clue what the tom was talking about but when he mentioned healing Dartkit snorted, "you mean a witch? Yeah, Earlybloom."
Espressokit cried on, not at all comforted once he heard the words dying. He didn't want to die! He wanted to be a warrior like his parents and the other cats in the clan. He wanted Asterblossom! Now! Or Wolfbee. They'd make it all better, they had before when they adopted them. The tom's tears went on as he pulled his paw closer, tears blocking his way, but through the blur he could make out a crowd coming closer and none of them were Asterblossom or Wolfbee.
Centipedekit stared on with quiet concern as the group of kits grew, finally looking back at the lone apprentice "If you'd like, I can go get one of the Witches to come help?" The older kit's voice was calm in a sea of emotions that swirled around the nursery. "My mother pointed out the den to me a few days ago, so I know where to go."
Corpsepaw had been nearby when she heard the commotion. SHe'd come over with anxiety boiling in her belly but then she'd had an idea after hearing Centipedekit saying they'd go get the witches. What if they made a trip of it? Then she could make sure the Witches did a good job and get the kit help! The young student always h=worried, especially about things being done right. And what better way than to go with. "Or..we...I mean we don't have to, but..what if we all went?"
There was so much going on and Cinderpaw's emotions were ramping up along with those of the kits'. "Yes," he said, wincing as he looked at Espressokit. "Let's pay your Witch a visit." Cinderpaw motioned for Centipedekit with his gray tail. "Lead the way please."
The student heard another cat come to the nursery, and he looked up to see Corpsepaw. Another older clan cat being there relaxed him a bit, and he replied to her, "Hey, I'm sure we could use an extra set of paws. I'm not sure we should let Espressokit walk there on that paw." Cinderpaw debated whether he should just pick the kit up with his teeth or walk with him pressed between the two students. He glanced to Corpsepaw for help.
Corsepaw didn't really know what to do with kits, she'd been found with her littermates and had been wary of the clan ever since. To her, their mother would show up one day and so she'd separated herself from the clan as much as she could for the day their mother arrived to take them back. Her ears picked up a voice, one that wasn't really there but she believed it was. It spoke to her, telling her someone was watching, waiting for her to screw up and be kicked out of the clan. It was one of the many fears she has, being forced to leave and unable to fend for herself. Taking a step back, the she-cat moved away from the crying kit, leaving the little one to Cinderpaw. She'd touch no kit, least WinterClan say she was stealing them or harming them or anything.
The tom watched as the other student stepped back and he shrugged. Cinderpaw was torn. Should he pick up the kit and carry him to the witch or should he bring the witch to the kit? The former kittypet was a little worried that moving the kitten would harm him more, so he meowed to Corpsepaw, "Can you go get your witch and bring them here? Or find Chestnutpaw." Cinderpaw looked at her with big, pleading eyes. Please please help, he thought.
Centipedekit nodded Cinderpaw's notion, running ahead as his paws took him towards the familiar Witch's den.
Chestnutpaw was deep in a pile of old herbs, separating the herbs that were well enough to be used from those that needed to be thrown out. Her pale green gaze was focused on the task ahead, so much so she had not heard the quiet steps of a small kit entering the den.
"Excuse me Chestnutpaw-" Centipedekit spoke up, causing the Pupil to jump in surprise, her speckled pelt rising instinctively with shock. The pupil turned quickly to find the sight of the small kit, her fur falling slowly back into place as he racing heart began to slow back down.
"Oh! Cenitpedekit..." She breathed with relief, her bright smile gracing her pretty features. "Is everything okay?" She asked calmly, a hint of concern edging her words as she noticed the kit's serious expression. It was natural to be concerned when people visited her, but the pupil found herself unsure of how to feel when the young, dark grey kit came. Since birth, Centipedekit was always rather serious and quiet. From what Chestnutpaw noticed, the expression was a common one for the kit, so frankly, she wasn't too sure what to expect.
"One of the other kits got hurt and is crying but we don't know what is wrong with her." He spoke up quietly, his yellow gaze unmoving as he stared up at the Pupil.
"Oh I see, I'll go check on her then, Earlybloom is out right now." Chestnutpaw spoke with a sense of calmness, but her insides tingled in anxious anticipation as she stepped forward, her short strides moving quickly as she made her way to the nursery with the little grey kit in tow...
Rosettekit sat at her brothers side as he cried in pain, gently licking the top of his head in hopes to comfort him a little. "It's okay Espressokit, Earlybloom or Chestnutpaw will be here soon." While her voice remained calm, worry filled her pale amber eyes as she watched her brother, She didn't like to see him in pain but there was nothing she could do to help aside from trying to calm him down.
Cinderpaw's nerves were rattled by now, but he kept his outward appearance calm to try and settle the kits. The student looked from the wailing kit to the nursery entrance, waiting for Centipedekit to return with a witch. Eventually, he scented someone familiar and darted outside of the nursery, avoiding small cats as he ran. "Chestnutpaw!" he said, voice rising with brief happiness. She had been too busy to hang out with him since he'd joined the clan for her, and now he was finally getting to see her again! But now wasn't the time for the two of them to talk, and the tom kept this in mind. Still, he greeted her nose to nose, purring. Then he gestured for her to follow him into the nursery with his gray tail. "One of the kits hurt their paw. I'm sure Centipedekit told you. You can fix that right?"
Meanwhile, poor Espressokit just cried on. He wanted Wolfbee or Asterblossom, or his other siblings, or anyone! His paw throbbed and hurt and looked a little bigger than before, just causing him to cry even more.
Corsepaw stood beside him and his sister, gazing at them and then the entrance where Chestnutpaw and Cinderpaw were. The she-cat had no idea what to do with kits, or cats her own age, let alone those older than her. Really Corsepaw had no idea how to deal with anyone, not even herself so when the poor kit just continued to cry, she grabbed him by the scruff and pulled him away from the other kits towards Chestnutpaw. She was by no means gentle in her hurry and barely realized or processed that she could make the injury worse by doing what she was. POoor naive Corsepaw.
Rosettekit had her eyes on her brother when the sudden movement caused by Corpsepaw made her jump, her brother was pulled into the air and towards the entrance where Chestnutpaw was coming into view. The small she-cat flattened her ears and jumped to her paws, staring angrily at the hurried apprentice. "Be careful! He's hurt!" Even as she was speaking she rushed forward so she was at Espressokits side as Corpsepaw plopped him back to the ground, her fur ruffled and eyes still glaring.

Asterblossom entered camp to the sound of her kit's wailing, causing her to take off without even carrying the mice she'd caught to the freshkill pile. Instead they were flung onto the ground as she small cat ran towards the sound of her kit, once Espressokit was in view she let out a growl to warn the others away, all but Chestnutpaw. "Corpsepaw," she meowed briskly, "find Earlybloom, she was washing herbs in a puddle of slush south of camp. Go."
She curled around Espressokit and licked his head, "I'm here little one." Where was Wolfbee? Her mate was better at this kind of thing.
