As he was awaiting a reply from Chestnutpaw, Cinder felt relief as the crying kit's mother entered the scene. He regretfully turned from his crush to face Asterblossom and asked her gently, "Ma'am, is there anything I can do to help you? Perhaps go with Corpsepaw or fetch some wet moss?" The student was not used to this type of situation but he felt a crushing need to make himself useful.

Chestnutpaw's ears flickered in a moment of confusion, though her expression remained still and calm. "On you paw?" She echoed quickly, taking in the sight of the kit's paw. There as no visible wound nor was there blood to be seen or smelled. Her hazel eyes glided around her paw again before she reached out with her own speckled paw, touching the kit's toes gently. Though the kit seemed visible bothered, there was hardly a reaction when she touched his toes. Chestnutpaw stared deeply at the kit before slowly sliding up her paw to the kit's wrist, adding a gentle pressure the more she rose...
