Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Her labor had been - mercifully - a nonevent. After the desolate wails of a broken heart, the scent of blood, blood, too much blood! Sanguinerose was glad to welcome her kits into the world under the noon sun, her pelt glowing like the brightest ember. Though her heart overflowed with love and joy as she beheld each of her tiny bundles, she couldn't hide the raw pain she felt as she watched two kits only days older than her own root about the nursery, seeking warmth from whatever queen could offer it.
It seemed as though the Sun God had spoken to her during her labor, as she came out of it with firm resolve written across her face. Slipping out from beneath her own kits, she carefully lifted little Earthkit and Mousekit, nestling them in with her own. They wouldn't have to know this pain so early, not if she still had breath in her chest. She nudged them both towards her stomach, and they easily found the milk she had to offer them. They had lost a mother and practically lost a father - a father in prison was no father at all. Though she couldn't provide them with a father either she could show them the overwhelming love she had to offer them.
Settling into her nest with a contented sigh, she began to groom each of her kits - Earthkit and Mousekit included - until they all lowered their heads to their paws and fell asleep. The Sun God had once again blessed them with a healthy litter of kits, though she couldn't ignore the pang she felt when she considered what Lionpride must be going through, all alone... "Congratulations," Bloodyrondo said as he ducked his head below the entrance to the nursery. In his mouth was a bundle that smelled strongly of herbs and a single red rose. Yeah, roses had a romantic connotation, which was not at all what he was going for here but, come on, the queen in question was named Sanguinerose. He sat the bundle down to her right then placed himself beside it, wrapping his fluffy ginger tail around his paws, "There's some borage in there to help increase your milk. I figured you might need it since you took on Mousekit and Earthkit. It really is a shame what happened to their mother..." He glanced over at the corner those two were born. The sandstone was still stained red in some places despite the Clan's best efforts to clean it all out, "... They are very lucky to have you."

Sanguinerose looked up from her kits when she heard soft pawsteps approaching, a concerned frown melting into a warm smile. "Priest Promised," she purred quietly, the rumble in her chest causing Berrykit to shift in her sleep before settling in again. "You didn't have to." She flicked her tail over his, a gesture of companionship and thankfulness. "The flower is beautiful, and the borage is gratefully received. Even though they've only been in the world a little bit, I can tell these little ones will have a voracious appetite." She rasped a tongue over Earthkit's head and nuzzled Mousekit before turning back to Bloodyrondo. "I'm lucky to have them," she whispered with a watery smile, her eyes misting as she considered the kits' misfortune. "How is their father? How is Lionpride?"
Bloodyrondo did not correct her when she misranked him as Priest Promised - he both was and he was not. A silly punishment that never ended, it seemed. Not a topic for conversation in the nursery. He offered Sanguinerose a smile when her tail brushed hers but he made to move to return a similar motion, "I make it a point to visit the mothers of our Clan. It is only through you and the Sun God's good graces that we remain as powerful as we are today."
The ginger tom paused at the mention of Lionpride, his smile fading. He was not close to that tom but he prayed that no cat ever had to go through what he was. It was much too cruel, "Satinpaw... excuse me, Satinlights tells me that he is doing better." If better meant that he was no longer blindly attacking his clanmates, "However, Littlestar has judged that he remain in prisoner for at least a few more days. She is attending him personally. I'm surprised she hasn't come to visit you yet, those are her first grandkits, you know."

"And graced we are," mewed Sanguinerose with a glance upwards. Though the cowardly Moon God hung in the sky at the moment, the queen knew her God was watching over her and her kits at that very moment. After all, it was a queen's greatest pride that she might birth a litter of full-blooded SunClan cats for the clan. She saw Bloodyrondo's expression flatten when she brought up Lionpride and felt herself also wilt a little. "At least he still has Satinlights," she mewed after a moment. "She's a good cat. I just pray every night that Littlestar pardon's Lionpride for what he did. He was mad with grief, she has to know that. Besides, it would be cruel to take any more from these kits. They've already lost so much..." She closed her eyes for a moment, regaining her bearings but, in the process, drifting off a bit.
"I'm a little afraid of Littlestar, to tell you the truth," she murmured, seeing every bit asleep had she not spoken. "I hope that she understands these kits need stability, and they need a mother. I just don't want them to get caught up in any...drama. I'll fight the Sun God himself for my kits. I just...hope it doesn't come to that."
"I wouldn't worry too much about Littlestar. She puts her family first almost to a fault, not to mention that she is a very accomplished healer. Lionpride couldn't be in better paws." Bloodyrondo said with total honesty, but then his tone darkened, "But you shouldn't say such things about the Sun God. Those kits belonged to him before they were born. Yours too. If he wants them, he will have them, although thankfully our God does not demand sacrifices like some other inferior deities..."
Silence hung in the air for a few moments. Bloodyrondo's words had been heavy. He finally cleared his throat and at the same time got back to his paws, "Well, I had best get going, I have a patrol to lead. I wish you and the kits the best. Much like how Lionpride couldn't be in better paws, the same could be said for his children."

Toots watched the two talking, curled up around her own little group of kits that had she had birthed not even a half-moon before. It had been a big decision to come to SunClan with her kits, and thus far the clan had been rather chaotic. At least she could say it wasn't boring and she had something to keep her occupied from her confinement in the nursery. Any time she tried to move, she was subject to a barrage of threats and curses from her mother was was also in the nursery with her own litter. She lifted her head and purred slightly "Well at least they will grow up with plenty of other kits around them, this would have never been this many kits at one time in WinterClan.... There would have been no way they could have supported this many little ones, with this many queens not being able to contribute to the freshkill pile"
