Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Hello hello! Hope everything is going well for you. (I peep the haikyuu quote, never seen it myself but heard good things about it) I'm doing great, just focusing on finishing up my final year of university
HELLO I SEE HAIKYUU I'm watching it all over again before I watch the new season bc it's been a while since I watched it and wanted a refresher, and I'm forcing my boyfriend to watch it with me. he normally hates sports anime but he actually dropped video games to watch it with me like man I love that anime so much. I just love the characters so much like you could drop them in any situation and I will watch the heck out of it tbh. man I'm so proud of all of my volleyball nerds and their development

yes yes yes yes yesssss. tbh i only recently started watching it since... last month i think? since then i've uh... kinda rewatched the entire 3 seasons twice now, and am currently watching the fourth season as it updates. and now im reading the manga because i honestly cant wait. plus, i've had a few spoilers so im kinda tired of that.
but i love it so much. i love the characters so much. its bizarre how your rooting for karasuno but also feel SUPER emotional about the other teams too? like you go from adopting what... like, nine volleyball dorks to like... 20+ more in the span of one season? holy crap. i cant express how much i love haikyuu. <3333
yeah, I think I'm on my third time watching it now oops. I regret nothing I love my volleyball dorks.
lile honestly!! they make you care about even the team that you know is gonna lose and will probably never show up again, but you still feel for them when they do lose! and man, nekoma and those other schools? I love them so much. kuroo is my child. they're all my children. such precious little dorks. god I love them.

it really is crazy though. like i got super emotional during the first match when they showed all of those flashbacks of schools/teams who wouldn't make it and it just hurt. and honestly i usually don't like sports animes but it doesn't even really feel like one? like its about a sport, but it confuses more on character dynamic/relationships and i find it really amazing.
honestly have a hard time trying to choose a favorite, but tbh my favorites are consistently suga, kuroo, and bokuto dfkjgdgj. but really i love all of the characters. the only characters i had a hard time with were oikawa and tendou. with oikawa he just generally like irritates me but like... i also like him? its a weird love hate thing i guess. and tendou just is creepy beyond all heck but like... I ALSO LOVE HIM SO IDK.
its hard not to like the characters in the show ahahahahaaa
ikr?? like the volleyball comes second to the characters, and I love it. I just really enjoy the dynamics of all of them, and watching the schools interact with each other. even Tsuki I've come to love because of the training camp arc. every time I think I have a favorite character, a different one appears on screen and I'm just like "oh I love him" and it's just never ending.
I feel you though on Oikawa. I think that's how hes supposed to be though, an irritating character that you can still look up to. like the thought of him graduating makes me sad, but it's still somehow a relief to not see him on court anymore, even though I'll miss it? and tendo is an enigma. I dont think theres actually a character that I dont like at all?? the closest might be mad dog? but even still, I cant dislike him.

@/lavellan yeah honestly its kinda crazy how they can turn around the characters that annoy the heck out of you at the drop of a hat. wasn't a fan of tsukki until his redemption arc and now i absolutely love my salty child. <3 as far as oikawa goes its just his personality, but tbh iwazumi definitely balances out his personality so it makes it a lot more bearable. i did, however, cry at the end of season two. im very sentimental oml.
@/pluto ive heard of them, but haven't actually gotten around to watching them! would you recommend them/are they any good?
honestly, i was holding back tears at the end of season two as well! this show seriously makes you care about each and every character and it hurts. man i miss my third year children. they grow up too fast ;-; god i dont want another graduation, i dont think my heart will take it.
i watched kuroko no basket but tbh i couldnt get through it

yeah. all i know is that the manga is at the point (chapter 340+ or something) where all of the characters are aged up. like hinata i believe is 22 in the current chapter. and im honestly going to bawl if i see daichi/suga/asahi graduate. because im bingeing the manga today and im already on chapter 17 and idk if my heart can handle the graduation chapters dfjghfdg
i'm really glad that it keeps going past their high school years though. i was really going to be sad if it ended when hinata graduated from hs man i cant wait to see all my children as adults. one of these days i should read the manga. idk why i haven't actually?? i think i've just been afraid to watch everyone graduate why is graduations so sad omg i dont want them to leave. why cant they all just stay babies forever.

thats honestly why i put off reading the manga for so long. but tbh, ive seen a few panels from the newer chapters (spoilers and no spoilers sadly) and im so excited to catch up to them and see what's all gonna happen. honestly i just need more haikyuu content in my life and thats why im reading it ahahaa. but i'd suggest reading the manga/giving it a try. its really cool and the art/visuals in the manga are super awesome.

10/10 would recommend either one of them. Although Kuroko's is more centered around "abilities" like one character is an expert passer and cant really shoot, whereas another can shoot the ball from literally anywhere on the court with ease or just be a player that can adapt (essentially copy) the abilities of whoever he is guarding. It's an exciting ride and great character dev. Ahiru no sora is more grounded and realistic. If you're interested, something me and some people from classic get together and stream anime. I'd be totally down to rewatch either one of those again!

oooh. i'd totally be down to give it a whirl, tbh. my only issue is that its hard for me to schedule my time evenly. i do a lot of animation/art projects and commissions so usually most of my time consists of doing that all day, on top of working as well. so idk how well i'd be able to flexibly schedule times to do that. :'] my life is a bit of a mess but thats ok

i'll definitely give it a read then!! and man i feel that. the first time i watched it i ended up reading some fanfictions because i just needed more haikyuu in my life and it was the only way to get my fill
