Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The winds were abnormally high and with it came debris from all across the lands. Windy was a part of the debris, walking in the direction of the wind with more twigs, feathers, leaves, and pebbles stuck to his fur than ever before. His entire legs were muddy and his cinder grey fur was untamed and held more winding curls than a cloud. His blue grey mask was the only part of him that seemed to be kept clean and being such a big cat with especially fluffy fur he looked twice the size he was.
A lot had happened since he vanished from WinterClan and from Stormgaze and through it all, despite how super fun the adventures got, and the interesting people he met, he only wanted to come back home to be with her. She had been pregnant when he vanished and he knew the kits must have been born already. Now that he found his way back to the Mountain Clans he had no interest in going back to WinterClan and only wanted to return back home to Stormgaze, she was his home.
The tom smelled like a rogue as he had lived as one for a while just trying to return back to the clans. Now all he wanted was to reunite with Stormgaze and make up every second he missed. He stood at SummerClan's borders and then ended up lying down, this had been one a heck of a hike and with all of the emotional build up for this one moment he was physically and emotionally exhausted already.
(@jadie neverstarstarpLuto @starkravingmad you guys are welcome to join in since all of you took a kit from the litter!)
Stormgazer was in the Summerclan camp, the air fairly warm despite the heavy winds that gave the occasionally nippy feeling. The silver tabby padded over to the fresh-kill pile, her trail of kittens following her. She chose a squirrel from the pile and revealed it to her kits. Today, she was going to show them how to eat solid food.
Speckledpaw was well hidden in the ferns, his calico fur making it easier to camouflage. He wasnt suppose to be out without a warrior but he thought that if he came back with prey, they wouldn't be so angry at him. However, this time, he was stalking something more than prey. Imagine what the clan would think when he captured an intruder. He wriggled his haunches and launched at Windy, "INTRUDER!!" He was aiming for the former Winterclan warrior's back but misjudged his landing and flew over him and rolled into the bushes. Speckledpaw bursted from the bushes and confronted Windy, branches and leaves tangled in his bristling fur. "Intruder!" He repeated, spitting out a couple of leaves from his mouth.
Wispykit's eyes were just starting to change from their kitten blue to amber but were presently a murky green, like they couldn't quite make up their mind. Not unlike how the kit was feeling right now. Her gray fur fluffed up a bit as she leaned in to sniff the squirrel that Stormgazer was showing her, "How do you even each it? It's all furry..."
Edited Feb 23, 2020 20:45:40 GMT -5 By Jadie | Reason: SQUIRREL NOT RABBIT
(It was a squirrel, not a rabbit lol! Also, this is where they meet their father for the first time. They dont know who their father is. Stormgazer never told them and now Windy wants to join Summerclan so they are going to be forced to meet their father!)
"You pull the skin back like this" she bit down on the squirrel and ripped a chunk of the skin off to reveal fresh meat underneath. "There you go. Now try it."
( Edited and fixed lol! Sorry about that & got it )
Wispykit observed the flesh beneath dubiously. It didn't look all that much more appetizing that it did with the fur. In fact, it looked even more gross, but for some reason her mouth was watering ever so slightly. She closed her eyes and took a step back, "Someone else go first!"
life is a lot, and I'm sorry for how much it impacts me here

Twisterkit sat nearby his family, one eye on them, as he sorted through his feather collection. When his mother began shredding a squirrel the tom kit gathered his collection and placed his pebble on it, standing and padding over curiously. "Ew," he mewed, looking at it with obvious distaste. Nevertheless he leaned in and bit into a chunk, shaking his head aggressively to tear a bit off. He chewed cautiously, eyes closed, and swallowed before peeking at Wispykit, "hey! That's pretty good!"
"Ah! A highly trained and clearly skilled, SummerClan warrior!" Windyhurricane yelped in surprise. There wasn't even a moment of hesitation, he went along with this without thought. He bopped the apprentice on the head, "You'll never catch me alive! HAHAHAH" He declared before sprinting off. Still running along the border line he tripped over his own paws and fell over, got back up, and then continued running with the same amount of enthusiasm as though eh never slipped at all.
Twisterkit's ravenous attack and following approval of the meal made Wispykit a little more courageous. She stepped up next to her brother and took a much small, sheepish bite, chewing it thoughtfully before going in for a second bite. It was very, very different from her mother's milk, but also good. More... lively? She didn't go in for a third bite and gave room to her other siblings to try, "You're right, Twisterkit, it's not so bad... but really chewy!"
"Never be afraid to try new things" Stormgazer purred to her children, love shining brightly in her blue eyes. "There are lots more prey for you little ones to try. Not today, though. But before you know it, you will have tried every prey in the forest."
Skykit padded over next, sniffing the squirrel. Her mother said not to be afraid to try new things but this didnt look very appetizing or safe. She noted her sister's and brother's reaction before hesitantaly taking a bite for herself. She chewed, clearly struggling with the toughness of the meat. Finally, she swallowed and swiped her tongue around her lips. "That's not bad!" Skykit announced and went in for a second bite. Now she could see why the rest of the clan ate these.

Speckledpaw was confused by Windy's reaction. There was no way Speckledpaw was a warrior nor was he well trained, clearly. If he were, he would have landed on Windy instead of misjudging his pounce and ending up in the bushes. The rogue took off in a run. That was unusual. If it were the usual rogue, Speckledpaw would have been attacked given his mistake. Maybe this was a loner. They were more docile but still wouldnt have run. Unless it was a kittypet? It didnt matter what this cat was, he was getting away. Speckledpaw followed, racing after Windy. The summerclan apprentice noticed he was avoiding the border. This strange cat obviously knew what a border was which was another questionable action that confused Speckledpaw.
"Hey! Stop!" Speckledpaw called after he realized he wasnt getting any closer to Windy. He didn't expect the stranhe tom to stop. That was dumb to say to a fleeing cat who, supposedly, thought he was in danger. "You need to stop running! I need to take you to my leader so I can be a warrior!!" Speckledpaw's voice turned from a normal call to a pitiful, kit-like and desperate plea in order to get what he wanted.
Windyhurricane steered to a stop, almost spinning out of control, but managed to come to a complete stop all at once facing in Speckledpaw's direction, "Yeah okay that make sense!" He chirped, "Let's get you your warrior name, do you think it'll be liked Speckledblood, tamer of rogues! Or will it be liked Speckledflowers, virtuous guider? Wait, what are we waiting for? Stay on topic Speckledpaw, we gotta get your warrior name," He announced with determination and raced past Speckledpaw before running backwards over to him and trotting in place, "Also I don't know where your camp is to help you prove yourself so actually, maybe you should leave the way. Should I walk on a limp like, I was about to get him, but then he stabbed me in the eye! Because I feel that would really win your leader over."
It seemed Windyhurricane's imagination never stopped and neither did his paws as he was quite literally running in place, hyping himself up. His strategy was to run in place to make himself winded by the time he got there to make it look like Speckledpaw gave him one heck of a fight. After all he got his warrior name after he fought in battle against the ghosts, scarring him for life, but hey, all worth it to get a cool warrior name. Plus this was Stormgazer's camp so this was like a bonus to help him get his warrior name and to see her.
Speckledpaw skidded to a halt, spraying up dust and grass, in an attempt to stop abruptly. After he slid several foxlengths, he finally stopped and he turned to face Windy but the tom had already darted away. Speckledpaw gave a defeated sigh but then perked his ears when Windy came back saying that he should lead the way and asking what his warrior name should be. Speckledpaw was usually a high energy and fun tom but this loner had an energy that not even Speckledpaw could keep up with. "Whoa, whoa. Slow down a moment. First off, why are you even here? This close to the border? And who are you?" His scent was strange, nothing that he had ever smelled before. It was like several different scents clung to it but no singular one that he could pinpoint.
"I came here to reunite with my family and do everything possible to make up for all the lost. I've been away for so long and at first we had this plan where she would move, but now it's like, no, she shouldn't move, I should move... I always should have. So here I am, I'm ready to be a dad and more than that I'm ready to be there for her more than I ever have before, the way it was always meant to be. My names Windyhurricane, I'm from up north in WinterClan, but y'know, like I said, got lost so I've been gone for a long time."
Speckledpaw took a step back when he mentioned he was from Winterclan. Could he be trusted? What if he was just saying that to get into Summerclan and be a spy? "Who is your family?" If he couldnt come up with a name, then it was clear he was a spy.
"My dads Regin and my moms Mistyveil, she's a medicine cat, literally the sweetest mommy you can imagine. Oh you mean Stormgazer and my family don't you? I just know Stormgazer, I unfortunately wasn't there when my kits were born, which is why I'm so eager to go to SummerClan and meet them. I bet they're the coolest kits or kit, I don't know, maybe I have an only child. It is going to be so hard teaching them all the pinecone sports without any pinecones and ice hockey, but we'll make do. And I bet they've already come up with all kinds of cool games to show me too and then I also can't wait to just sleep next to Stormgazer and not worry about waking up early and sneaking back across the borders. I get to just wake up at dawn and close my eyes knowing she's still next to me. That'll be the best moment. I guess everyday from here on out will be the next moment."
"Your mates with Stormgazer and her kits are yours?" Speckledpaw could hardly believe what he was hearing. Stormgazer, Miss follow-the-rules, broke the warrior code! "I don't believe that. Stormgazer is very loyal to Summerclan! She would never stoop so low as to mate with a former Winterclan warrior!" Speckledpaw instantly regretted his choice of words once they were said. Windy had been nothing but kind to him and Speckledpaw had returned his kindness with belittling. "But...I guess I can take you to her." He said after a moment's pause. He didn't mean to be rude so the least he could do was take Windy in. "But I don't think Summerclan will take too kindly to you. We will have to see. Hopefully Stormgazer is happy to see you. She hasn't spoken of you before." Speckledpaw began to head over the border toward the Summerclan camp.
"We met when we were very young and we never broke the warrior code, Stormgazer and I did nothing wrong," Windyhurricane defended, but a little too casually, he already seemed distracted curling a claw delicately along his long fur and slowly sliding it out creating a perfect curl. Well right until it poofed out into frizzy fluff. He looked back over to Speckledpaw and his eyes blazed a bright blue, "Really!" He asked, his tail lifting high and paws practically squeezing together in excitement. He hardly seemed to listen to Speckledpaw after that, "I can't wait and yet I'm more terrified than I've ever been. But I can't wait another moment so let's go!"
"Yeah, she was pregnant when I left to find medicine and even if they weren't mine, so long as we both love each other that's all I need," Windyhurricane purred.
"Then you broke the warrior code. Summerclan is very traditional. While the other clans may have adapted to the idea of having mates in another clan, Summerclan cats frown upon it." Speckledpaw put in, though it kind of warmed his heart that Windy wanted to be reunited with his family. Hopefully Stormgazer would be happy to see him.
"If by traditional you mean you made up your own silent rules that don't hold any weight than yeah, I guess so," Windyhurricane said with an almost brotherly teasing grin, "Warrior code just says clan loyalty comes first, cross clan relationships are discouraged, but they're not against code nor are they even mentioned in it." His eyes were lost in a dream, "All I care about is seeing Stormgazer's smile, you're so blessed to be around her everyday. I remember tip toeing through the crunchy snow past my parents den and all the way to the other side of my home just to see that smile," He smiled holding the memory close to his heart, "I felt so special, like her smile was a secret only I could see. Plus while I was hiking up and down frosty mountains I made this wicked song, it goes STO- Oh wait, hey, is that SummerClan camp up ahead?"
