Littlestar nodded, only moving toward the nursery after recieving permission from Glowstar. However as she neared she stopped, see who it was that was in labor. Knowing how it must look she sat at the she-cats side "Windchaser..." she kept her voice soft taking in the she-cats condition as her eyes roamed over her rippling belly and over hearing the last words that she had spoken "I can help if you will allow me to" she glanced at Brakewings, but wasn't giving him the option to interfere. She didn't want to stand by and continue seeing the queen in pain if she could help "One of your kits has probably turned sideways in the birth canal, it needs to be gently turned or you won't be able to deliver the others"
"Trouble, right," he muttered distractedly, his tail twitching. What was he supposed to do for a kit in trouble? Flyingcolors had usually handled the birthing, and Yellowmoon hadn't prepared him for this either. She hadn't seemed as concerned about kitting complications; her focus had been on healing. His destiny wasn't to deliver kits. He looked up as Littlestar approached, wary, before he slowly nodded and took a step back. She would know what to do more than he would.
The strong smell of Sunclan hit her nose and she began to panic. "You won't take my kits again, Fo-" she broke off when she saw Littlestar enter the den. She was relieved that it was not Foxbane but she hadn't been very kind to Littlestar either. Had the Sunclan leader come to seek her revenge? Her breath quickened in anxiety but was taken by surprise when Littlestar offered her help. Why would she want to help her? Windchaser was never friendly toward the Sunclan cats. Her bold green eyes that were wide with fear met with Littlestar's for a moment. She searched Littlestar's gaze for a sign to tell her that the Sunclan leader was lying to her and she was either planning to kill her kits or steal them but she saw nothing but sincerity in Littlestar's eyes. With hesitation, Windchaser nodded reluctantly. "...okay" she said at last, giving the Sunclan leader permission to help her deliver her kits safely.

As difficult as it must have been for Windchaser to accept the help, she had no time to whaste. Every moment that the kit spent trapped, it wasn't getting air. She placed one paw firmly on the she cats side feeling for the position of the kit. As she suspsect, it was turned the wrong way. Without intervention, both her and the kits could die "I'm no going to lie, this is going to hurt. A lot" she looked at Brakewings "Can you go and get her something for pain? Preferably not poppy seeds though, they will make he sleepy and she will need to deliver the other kits after this one" The chances of it being alive at this point was slim. She put the stick that the other medicine cat had brought into the queens jaws, then began to manually move the kit. It was slow, but to move any faster would only make it more painful on the mother and more dangerous on the kit. Moving the kit's position was excruciating, but it was the only way to get it out. Once it was in position, she kept her paws firmly in place" now push"
Windchaser howled in agony as Littlestar moved the kit. She bit down on the stick, splintering it in her mouth. At Littlestar's command, Windchaser pushed. She felt pain, pressure, and then suddenly relief as the kit was born. It let out a small mew indicating that it was alive but it was clearly very weak.

As soon as the kit emerged Littlestar turned her attention to the kit, knowing that with the pressure gone Windchaser would feel some relief. She nipped the sack and began to clean it vigerously. At first it barely mewed, but slowly the sounds grew louder and louder as it protested the rough treatment. Once she was satisified that it was strong enough, she moved the kit over to it's mother's side for her to see. Brakewings would need to keep an eye on it for damage from the air, but with any luck she had gotten it out swiftly enough to prevent it. She sighed helping the weak kit latch on to her mother so that it could start getting strong. She would have to tell Brakewings what to watch for "With any luck the other should come much easier" she purred knowing that unless there was another complication the worst was over.
Windchaser sighed with relief as the kit was placed at the ginger and white queen's side. Before she could say anything more, her contractions started again. After several more minutes, all four kits were born. Windchaser looked down lovingly at her four little bundles before meeting Littlestar's gaze again. "Littlestar, I will never forget this. You saved my kits' lives. From this moment on, I am in your debt." She dipped her head politely to the Sunclan leader. If it hadn't been for Littlestar, she could have lost nearly her whole litter.
Brakewings returned with an assortment of herbs for Littlestar to use, along with another stick. "Here, I brought you what you asked for-- oh," he mewed blankly, looking at how restful the queen looked and realizing she might have finished kitting already.

Littlestar
SunClan High Priestess
The Peace Keeper
"Well... there is one way you could repay me" she replied a slightly mischievous look in her eyes. She lowered her muzzle and touched each of the kits on their head with her nose gently before looking back up at Windchaser "Take care of these kits, and raise them to be as strong as you are" her answer was probably shocking, especially from a cat that she probably thought had come here to steal them away. Even though Windchaser hated her, and hated SunClan, Littlestar had always admired how the she-cat stuck with her beliefs and never faltered.
Windchaser's heart lurched and she fought the urge to wrap her tail protectively around her kits when Littlestar lowered her head. However much she wanted to hiss a warning to the Sunclan leader, she allowed Littlestar to touch her kit. Her immediate thought was that the silver tabby had come to steal her kits but was instantly relieved to hear the exact opposite. Perhaps she had judged Littlestar too harshly. After what she had experienced with Foxbane, she had always been extremely judgemental and untrusting toward the cats of Sunclan but here the leader was, helping a cat she knew didn't trust her or even liked her. She put aside any hard feelings to help a cat in need. That took courage and guts. Windchaser couldnt help but admire the Sunclan leader. "I will" she responded with a smile. "And they will grow to know what you have done for me and for them."
