Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"I mean it's not that high of a climb to get up and down, why do you need a breather?" Sean asked, genuinely trying to be friendly, but his comment just came off back handed. He instead sat down next to Funk, "That's okay, we can stay, you're cute enough where I can agree to spend a few more moments with you. I don't want to admit it, but after day... Whatever this is I'm pretty tired, I could knock out anytime."

Even though he could tell he didn't mean, Funk jabbed Sean playfully on the shoulder. "Hey now." He laughed, "It's not, but it's a nice view. May as well appreciate it before we gotta leave it." A sunset, the only one he'd get to see at this time. In the past, sitting next to Sean. It was all too surreal, like some sort of bad dream. Or a good dream. He didn't know which. Though the encroaching night told him that this was going to end soon. "Funk right I am." He said, with too much vibrato for it to be played off. "But I get it. Though once I got a taste of freedom, I wanted to drown in it immediately. Still do."
"I wouldn't know, I never felt free, but then when I became commander I realized how much freedom I had before and how little I have now. There's all these things that I want to do that I can't now because I need to listen to other opinions and stay in certain peoples good graces. The weirdest part is that everyone acts like it should have been someone else as commander, but no one else is stepping up to take it so I don't know what they want from me. I'm sorry to unload that all onto you, I'm just a little jealous of your freedom," Sean admitted with a light purr.

How funny, they really were similar. Funk wondered if Sean would look at the eventual whirlwind change in Primal Instinct and be reminded of this conversation. But their very groups made the situations different. Their reputations were different. In Primal Instinct, the slate was strangely clean. No one expected anything of him, there were no pretenses to hold with allies or enemies. Of course, he could do wrong in their eyes, but he had quickly found their words cheap as no one threatened to overthrow him. Funk already carried a reputation of doing things his own way, and most advice was given to the Nemesis with a heavy dose of snark with it. He would have thought leading the lemmings was easier than that, but he guessed not.
"They want things their way without having to work for it." The worst kind of people, "You can keep trying to walk around eggshells, but that's only gonna be exhausting for you. If you're the boss, you get the main say. And if no one wants to step up, you gotta be able to let their opinions go. Cause they only care as much as they can tell their words affect you." It was strange Sean was being so candid, and how easily Funk himself gave that advice. No point in questioning it for now. It would only make time go faster.
Sean laughed and sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah, but we're the Regime, everyone's family here. When I tell someone we're not doing that idea I insulted someones grandma and soon enough I got three generations of family jumping at me for anything negative I say. I swear, one of these days the repercussions of our borders being closed is going to catch up. Soon enough that entire family tree is going to be twisted around one another. I'll probably never get on that tree though, I hooked up with a league proxy a while back and I doubt anyone will ever let me forget that."

"Sounds like a pain." Funk shrugged, suddenly no help in this situation. He couldn't give too much help, the time-space continuum, and all. And it's not like he had any other useful advice other than 'make them listen to you'. "But yeah, you gotta be careful of that. I take it the parties are helping with that at least." His lip twitched away from a smile at the last part. Oh, he had no clue what hell was gonna occur. Soon, everyone was gonna be part of some genetic warfare. But for now, the sky was nice. "Keep your chin up though, you're a cute guy. Someone will see it."
He wavered his paw at the party question, sure they were nice, but it wasn't like anyone in the Regime enjoyed them. To him Renegade Regime should be grateful to have an alliance like the Toxic Regime, it meant meeting more people and more importantly they could team up against Primal Instinct. "Yeah," Sean laughed in return, not believing in the compliment.
He curled his tail around himself realizing that they were getting comfy on the perch of the roof. He supposed he couldn't blame Peanutbutter, he was a kittypet so climbing something like this wasn't easy. Then again rock climbing wasn't a common talent in the Regime either. Suddenly another cat leapt up onto the roof, she resembled Xuxa just a bit, but her fur was darker and the white pattern was completely different, "Commander Sean, there's a fight-" She paused, her gaze was blind, but she seemed to pick up on the second individual with him and her eyes darkened.
"He's no threat, he's just a kittypet, I'm fine," Sean retorted with a bit too much hostility his tone.
"You should pull back from here and let the soldiers deal with it," She said before leaving the two alone.
Sean stood up looking back at Peanutbutter to see if he was going to hangout up on the roof or follow him. It was uncommon for a leader to not be a leader and try and disperse conflict even for Regime standards, but he seemed to have no hesitation about it.

Funk knew little of Toxicity. He heard whispers of them while he was traveling, but nothing more. Then they just disappeared. The alliance didn't help much. But they seemed at least somewhat familiar with the city, funny how they lost it to Absum Lux. Course, he had no clue he indoctrinated the few to his own gang. His short pelt didn't perk as he glanced to the side and realized how close they were. How funny were things when they worked out. His lips teased a smile, and he opened his mouth to say something else when jumped up to the roof.
The eventual Nemesis looked back, not recognizing Xuxa but swearing her voice sounded familiar. A fight... just a fight. Eh, he normally took the same approach as Sean. Let everyone else deal with it before stepping in. Funk knew his time was short though and fully wore the smile before standing up. "Really? What kind of fight is it?"
"Who knows," Sean replied dismissively, "Besides, San shouldn't even be worrying about it, she's a guider. Well, healer," He rephrased in terms that Funk would understand.
He began to scale down the building in record time hitting the bottom grass, "I'm staying away from it though, other leaders can waste their lives on fights, I'm not." He didn't look like he exactly knew where he was going to walk to. He wanted to go home, but did he really want to go home? He would just be going back to his mate who was constantly disapproving of him. He would much rather go curl up next to Chief Kutsu and watch the stars or walk around with Deal till their paws hurt.
"Where do you like to go?" Sean asked Funk, "I'm kind of bored so I could go for anything," He lied.

Disappointing. Funk let out something of a huff, but followed Sean down the building. Though he paused every now and again to look down at the growing crowd of cats and try to pick out what they were saying. But there were so many, nothing made sense.
It was getting late, and he thought back to that machine again. Of the twoleg closing the window for the night. But the heat from the sun fell hot on the ground, and he figured he'd make more time. Glancing around momentarily, nothing stood out. But there had to be something, something he'd at least recognize from the future. “Anywhere really, so let's just walk.” He chirped before setting off, in a direction further away from the machine.
