"Yeah, I really don't trust that coming from you," Sean said skeptically, "Also if you do leave me here to die, at least loosen the rope."
Raspberry managed to let out a yelp before her mouth was covered, a look of fear crossing her amber gaze, but seemed to be watching Nikko, clearly looking at him for help.
"You're going to be okay Razz," Nikko said simply, but didn't look like he was going to help Sean, "We can bring her out the back entrance to buy some time from her warning Xuxa and Yuki."
Raspberry held her game in her hands and at first looked like she was going to move a hand to try and get the pillow away from her mouth, but seemed to think better of it and put her hand back down onto her phone. Nikko carefully navigated the floor, the entire basement was a mess, piles of dusty books, old furniture, and plenty of rust was spread out through the basement, but the area Funk was in looked a lot cleaner, probably because it was closest to the stairs. Nikko carefully clambered around the objects, creating a narrow path before moving out of view and into the dark where the lights weren't lit before returning back, "Okay, we can leave. Raspberry, please don't make a sound, I really need this."

"Nah I'll tighten them more. Make it more exciting for ya." Funk teased, ignoring some glare surely thrown at him.
Now sitting next to Raspberry, he watched Nikko plot out and move things to create the path. His gaze flitted between the three others and trying to get a sense of the room. It looked old and dusty, but still kept nice enough to have a plush carpet and the like. Any move Razz made drew his attention back to her, but she didn't make an attempt to move or break free, so he didn't try to brace her from running away or anything. As Nikko spoke to Razz and the more she didn't move, the more he gently pulled the pillow off her face. Least until...
"Oi! Nikko! Razz! You in there?!" A loud knock at the front door practically called for everyone's attention. It was an entirely different voice, one on the lower side compared to the four. Funk immediately pushed the pillow back onto Razz's mouth.
Nikko was a surprisingly chill 13 year old as he leisurely made his way over to where he was supposed to be situated. He seemed to be debating something, he carefully dimmed the lights, but climbed up to the top of the stairs as he spoke, "Yeah, we're just playing games is all," He said opening the door for him, but blocked the way. With the room dimmed a little it was hard to see past the bottom of the stairs clearly. He looked a bit embarrassed and lowered his voice, "Please give me like five minutes, we weren't playing games, Razz and I were kind of, having a moment," He said gesturing to the dimmed lights, "Please don't tell them, mainly cause they already won't stop teasing me that I have a crush on her. Just five minutes so we don't embarrass Razz," He begged.
Raspberry stirred a little, but mainly to get comfortable, she knew enough that Funk and Sean were there because they hurt a lot of people. She didn't want to be added to their list, but at the same time she was worried that they would trick Nikko into helping them and then kill him in the end. Her sad expression watched where Nikko had gone from the top of the stairs, she guessed he couldn't see them down here. Her gaze almost glowed at the sudden idea as she flipped her phone to flashlight mode in order to shine a light onto Funk's face to show that he was out.

Clipped nails drummed against the doorframe. Compared to Xuxa and Yuki, the teenager was rather short. Not much taller than Nikko. His hair was short, a little too angular in certain parts. Almost like it was supposed to look bad. It was an overly light color, a light orange that bordered on white. Blue eyes like the sky seemed to stare off in the distance when Nikko opened the door. Moonlit dressed like your typical pretty boy rebel with a cause. Mostly in black with a silver chain or set of spikes poking out. He tried to stare into the room, but it was so dark he couldn't make anything out. "You know they're blindfolded right? No reason to keep it so dark." He almost would have let him have the five minutes. Least till that second part where he gestured to the dim room. A blush crept onto his face and in a flash, Moonlit pulled Nikko out into the hallway and shut the door. Pressing his back against the door back. "What the hell are you thinking?" Moonlit's voice was barely above a whisper, but it was a hiss, "We got people in there. Now's not the time to... god, canoodle the poor girl. No wonder they teased you. You're lucky I don't smack you." What the hell was Nikko doing? They weren't too far apart in age but still. He had to have some morals to not start making out in front of prisoners.
"Hey. Hey. Smart." Funk started swatting the phone away, trying to point the light anywhere away from him. He didn't even register the door slamming shut. Some things became clear, and a shine reflected against his eye as he spotted something. He quickly leaned down to grab it, finding a large broken shard of glass. "Razz right? Listen." The light shone through the glass, colors that stood out stark against the dark wall, "No one has to get hurt. Not you, not Nikko, not that weird kid that sounds familiar. Who is he? Hmm... anyway, nothing has to happen. But I need you to stay quiet and point the light towards my punching bag over there, okay?"
Nikko seemed numb to Moonlits touch as he was forced up against the door. His gaze was withdrawn, glazed over like a corpses, it always stayed that way, not calm, just emotionless. "Canoo-" He began to repeat, wondering what the word was, but was cut off. Nikko's gaze was focused on his shoes not wanting to sass Moonlit or else he might decide to smack him anyways, "I'm sorry, just let me fix this and I'll owe you one, seriously. I'll do anything you want so long as you just go upstairs and distract them for three minutes so that they'll never know what Razz and I were doing, I promise," Nikko said.
Raspberry looked very hesitant, but decided to obey for the time being. If Moonlit came downstairs there would be no need to endanger her life. Raspberry turned her phones flashlight to face Sean, apparently knowing exactly what Funk was talking about.

She knew and he didn't even get yelled at by Sean. Sweet. He gently lowered the pillow from her face and putting it to the side. Slowly, he got up, facing Razz as he walked backward, holding his pointer finger up like that would stop her. Like he wasn't just emulating what he always did when someone wanted to jump ahead of him in traffic. Don't do it. When he reached the chairs, Funk knelt down, the pain in his knees flaring up as he cut away at the rope. "Now Sean. It'll be fine. You might get cut and infected from this, but I'll treat ya." The rope slowly split, but thankfully for Sean, his hands made it out nick free. Funk grabbed the top of his blindfold and yanked it off before he could and then started working on the next rope.
This kid was so expressionless. It freaked Moonlit out a little. Like how? Well, whatever. Wait, fix this? "How the hell do you intend to fix this?" He whisper-yelled at Nikko. He wanted to grab the kid and shake him, just to see if he'd falter a little then. But he didn't. Now how was he supposed to distract Yuki and Xuxa? There was no way. But he could hear movement above them, and he knew he was stuck in this too. "Ugh damn. Fine, you got three minutes. Make em count." Moonlit opened the door to let Nikko back in before closing it behind him. He slumped over. What had he gotten himself into? Still, maybe he could finally get that cult off of his tail now.
Sean listened to the door shut and when it did he had irritation in his voice, "Okay you tell me the truth, did she seriously point a light at me when you said to aim it at your punching bag?" He stiffened at the mention of an infection knowing too well that plenty of people died more of those than in an actual battle. However Funk was careful and he gave a grateful expression when he was free. But couldn't help, but blink at the sight of Nikko and Raspberry, they looked younger than he imagined, especially Raspberry, what was she 11? He glanced up the stairs to see Nikko run back down.
"We have 3 minutes, let's go," Nikko said, but felt Raspberry catch his arm and then look Sean and Funk in the eyes, "You two can go, but if you try to take Nikko with you I'll scream and you'll never be able to cover my mouth in time."
"Yeah okay, good luck Nikko," Sean said skirting past Raspberry with a friendly little wave while taking Funk's hand in an attempt to lead him out. He wasn't sure if he would actually put up a fight and want to help Nikko, but he wasn't chancing it.
Nikko kicked and pulled at Raspberry, but for as young as she was she was really strong managing to hold him by her side. That and Nikko seemed to not be a part of any clan so he likely didn't have the training to know how to get out of Raspberry's grip while Raspberry likely had training even if she was young.
"Please take a chance on me and take me with?" Nikko asked nicely to Funk, but Raspberry gave him a look that said, I dare you.

"Yeeeaaaaaahhhhh." Funk's voice bordered on a giggle as the last bit of rope from Sean's hands split. There was no way he could hide the amusement as Sean watched him gratefully yet angrily. "She's a smart kid. I can't help that." The glass had cut him somewhat, he twisted his hand one way or another wrongly, but he managed to get Sean out of the binds before it bled too much.
When Sean grabbed his hand, Funk instinctively gripped it and followed him somewhat. Even when Nikko cried out for help, Funk looked back. He did feel a bit bad. They wouldn't have escaped without Nikko's help but Raspberry gave him a look that could kill. And he was fine being alive right now. "Sorry Nikko. Can't gamble that much. Swing by the League later when ya get the chance and we'll talk about those hits. Bye Razz." The Nemesis gave a wave before trailing behind Sean out the door.
Moonlit, meanwhile, was haunted by the thought of what happened in that basement. The vague voices he heard through the door couldn't even phase him.
Sean turned the corner fast with Funk and saw that they were in an old neighborhood, he could tell from the old fashion white picket fence. But the more he looked around the more he recognized it as being Xuxa’s parents old home. His focus turned to the window above him, he could hear that they had already figured out what was going on by the way that they moved away from the window and likely to the basement. Sean wrapped Funk into a hug immediately, “We did it!” He whispered excitedly before letting go rather quickly. He still had dried up blood on his face, Funk didn’t need that smeared on that awesome shirt he gave to him that was now his forever. He licked at his hands like a cat trying to clean the blood off from his nose before casually walking across the lawn towards the fence before smiling back at Funk, “Thank-you, I mean it. I know you didn’t have to let me go and honestly I didn’t expect you to help me at all. I’m sorry I thought so lowly of you to believe that you wouldn’t help me.”

How was he only a little taller than Funk but still ran so much faster? He was almost thrown into that corner, though surely not helped by his brief pause to talk to the kids. Compared to the cluttered and dusty basement, the neighborhood they found themselves in almost looked too clean. He was too used to the League, but couldn't help but feel a little suffocated by the atmosphere. Though he couldn't help but be a little surprised at how easily they got out. He must have been too used to having multiple guards at each corner. Getting whirled around into a crushing hug from Sean didn't help, but that didn't stop Funk from instinctively hugging him back. The ghostly image of a knife in his hand made him pull Sean just a little closer before letting him go. "You can say that when we make it out of here." Funk chided lightly, a joking tone as he watched Sean wipe the dried blood off of his nose. It made him instinctively bring the back of his hand to his mouth, traces of blood he didn't even notice were wiped off.
He looked around some as Sean walked towards the fence. The Nemesis had little choice other than to stick with Sean for now and followed after him. He felt his world kinda stop as Sean talked. A sort of warmth flooded his fingertips, made them want to do anything other than rest at his sides. It was true, he didn't have to. But he knew the thought of leaving Sean behind would have nagged at him. Even if they didn't like each other, he didn't think Glow would forgive him for leaving Sean behind. That was it, right?
Funk almost shrugged at that last part, so he let his shoulders droop again as he approached Sean, "Goodness. What happened to that optimism of yours? Still, you're welcome..." His fingers drummed along his leg, hitting something harder than he thought was in there, "and thanks, just don't let it get out, alright." He looked away, suddenly the side fence was way more interesting as he fished in his pocket. "Oh yeah. Here." Sure enough, he pulled out the scissors he swiped from Sean's kitchen earlier and presented them to him. Oops.
"Let what get out?" Sean asked before looking at the scissors, "HEY! Those are my good scissors," He whispered snatching it back into his hands. His hands traced over the metal blades thoughtfully before his thoughts were disturbed by the sound of the backdoor opening. He immediately felt his hand lock onto Funk, but stayed very still. It was dark out and entirely possible that she may... May not see him, but it was also very likely that she would. The Regime was very militant and for that reason they were expected to have a lot of gear on them, that included having night vision goggles. He watched for a tense moment, he could see the goggles on her head and watched as her hand moved up onto the goggles, he could almost watch it in slow motion as they began to go down over her eyes. In that moment Sean moved, jumping over the fence fast and offering a hand for Funk to jump down a lot more gently than he did. He could catch the sound of Xuxa calling from inside the house, likely for her backup, but at least he was pretty certain that Nikko wouldn't be one of the people chasing them.

"My..." Funk started but paused, "You know what. It's better you don't know." In retrospect, he could have used them and not the glass to cut Sean loose. But the Nemesis would have also figured the scissors would have been taken right away. Guess she really didn't pay the help that much. The silence fell long enough for him to hear the back door open as well, and he started making an effort to move before Sean put his hand on his shoulder. Funk forced himself not to move, not even able to see whoever was behind them. A sort of fear and excitement gripped him, the kind that came with the potential brush with death and the unknown. He almost wished he kept those scissors on him, not entirely sure how Sean would react with his back pressed against the wall. Though standing still made him realize how thin these clothes that Sean gave him were and how weirdly lukewarm his hand was. How the hell did he do that? The next thing Funk noticed was that it was gone and now he was running after Sean towards the fence. Pulling himself over the fence, he couldn't tell if he was mistaking the creaking of the fence for barking dogs. Still, he took Sean's hand as he hopped down off the fence. At this point, he figured Nikko or Razz wouldn't come after them. And that other guy... WAIT. Wasn't that Drac?
"You know, truthfully, I feel pretty confident we can take them, but Xuxa's a part of the Regime and I feel she could totally spin this around and make it look like this is my fault so I'd really rather not fight them," Sean explained, he suddenly noticed the blood on his hand, but it didn't come from him, it had to have come from Funk when he grabbed his hand, "Are you o-"
He winced at the sudden sound of gunfire, "Do you have a phone on you?" He asked, deciding to ask about the bleeding later, still he was looking hopefully towards Funk, "Because we could probably call for someone to pick us up or something." He winced again at the sound of gunfire and this time glanced around the dark streets only to realize that the place looked very abandoned. Xuxa's house didn't feel abandoned though, it had electricity, but clearly no one was living anywhere nearby, just empty houses. His eyes caught onto on of the houses up ahead, "We should hide in one of those houses, they're still far behind," Sean suggested.

"Why's that an..." Funk landed on the ground, little shocks running through his ankles, "Oh right. Your fights end in the other party being alive." Fighting with the League meant waiting for your untimely death. That was just how it went now. Though Funk now figured that wouldn't fly in the Regime. Least till the gunshots rang out, "Yeah, though she doesn't seem to have any qualms in killing you."
He shouldn't have been surprised he cut his hand on the glass. More so that he didn't really feel it until Sean pointed it out. Usually, if he even pricked a finger, he'd notice it right away. His hands were oversensitive like that. Still, he couldn't give it much attention right now. Funk tried to pat his pockets without covering them in blood. "No dice. Must have left it at your place." He could now picture it in one of those overly decorative saucers.
"Sounds good." Even though it was dark, he couldn't help but marvel at all these houses. They just sat here, unoccupied. Like he couldn't imagine all the people in and around the League that needed a place of their own like this. Funk shouldn't get distracted, they needed to get moving. And he needed to think of, or find, something that would let him contact the League.
Sean gave a doubtful look, he was pretty certain Xuxa did want to kill him, she just intended to make it slow and enjoyable for herself. It was a rude thought, but she belonged in Primal Instinct, she lived to make people suffer. His expression somehow seemed to pale more than it already was when Funk said he didn't have his phone. He checked his pockets, but he didn't either, why would he? They had agreed to have a fight, he was going to keep that in his pocket and risk it getting crushed or injuring him from falling on it weird. Although apparently Funk was perfectly fine falling on those scissors weird and seriously who steals scissors? Glow would.
Sean led Funk around to the back of the house, normally he would break the door open, but he didn't want to make any noise, "Alright, listen, if you try and steal this, if you tell anyone about this I will convince you that I'm your best friend and you will believe it and give you a bunch of bad advice that will ruin your life," He promised before taking off a necklace and placing a key inside of the doorknob. The key seemed to take a moment before clicking and unlocking the door, it seemingly learned the lock mechanism. Sean took the key out and proceeded inside, "So you didn't just see that." Mercenaries and sentinels got the best pieces of technology, ones that most gangs never got to see or would come close to getting.

Okay, he didn't know all this family drama. Cut Funk some slack. Still, he couldn't imagine this as a serious arrangement. It was too sloppy, too easy to get out of, there were dang kids involved. Even the League wasn't so short-handed they needed the kids to guard the prisoners. And of course, Funk would steal scissors. He wanted to win, regardless of what it took. Playing dirty was the way to win, after all. So eh. Maybe Glow and he were better together than he thought.
Funk's bleeding had slowed to where he stuck his hand in his pocket to keep a trail from forming. Following Sean at a brisk pace, he eyed the back of the house. Course, his first option was also to kick it in. But that wasn't an option now, so he ran his good hand through his hair. At the beginning of Sean's talk, he produced a bobby pin that kept two long pieces of hair from sticking up. Funk might have been able to open the door by the time he was done, but the Nemesis was far too amused by the concept of Sean becoming his best friend and giving him bad advice. Newsflash, man, Funk's life was already a disaster so this is nothing new.
Still, watching the key easily open the lock brought some spike of anger in him. Sure, he was a criminal and shouldn't be trusted with that kind of technology. But if the Regime had taken the time to make that, what else do they have? What else are they hiding from the rest of the world? This was why he hated the Regime. They seemed way too far into themselves. Still, there was no way Funk wasn't gonna steal that. Who was he if not a thief? Walking into the house, he fixed his hair somewhat. Really by burying the bobby pin back into the mess somewhere. "Fine. Just don't share our secrets too." The Nemesis took his glasses off and began to screw off the end of the temple, making sure the whole scene was obvious.
Sean scoffed with laughter at Funk, "Your secrets?" He asked tauntingly, "What, like you showed anything interesting that the league has. I'm sure you have interesting things, but you shouldn't fret since I haven't noticed any of it, I'm not a spy," He said with a wrinkled nose like that was a bad thing. He walked to the bathroom and cleaned up his wounds the best he could before noticing a bullet wound at his side. He didn't even know he was full of adrenaline to not notice it, but he did find a special kind of thrill in running around a neighborhood being chased. But now that he realized it he felt all of it's pain, he had been shot before, but this wasn't a battle, he didn't have guiders nearby to help him.
This was about the worst situation it could be, Funk had seen him use the key, if he saw him wounded he would probably just take it and leave. Wincing in agony he glanced around fast, trying to think of a place to hide it, he was already staying in this bathroom way too long. With some hesitation he carefully pulled back at the loose tile walls and pushed the key inside before covering it back up. No matter what he'd do he would feel guilty. On one hand, he was never supposed to let Funk know about that technology and if it was stolen that was his fault, he was protecting the Regime by hiding it. But on the other hand, Funk hadn't betrayed him, if they needed to open a door again and he didn't have it on him he was letting them both down. He walked back over to Funk, "So bad news, I actually got shot and am just noticing it," Sean said, holding his hands over his side, "And, if you're tempted or are going to ditch me here because I'm wounded, just at least have the courtesy to look around for a phone so I can at least try to stand a chance is all I ask."

Funk rolled his eyes, wringing the communicator too hard in his hands. Sure, the League didn't have all the technology that the Regime did, but did Sean have to be such an ass about it? Guess it was just the Regime's way. This is why he hated it here. League mentality had certainly seeped all the way through him. The darkness didn't let him see the bullet wound in Sean's side. The Nemesis was pretty sure he had something lodged in him as well. He couldn't feel it though. How did everything this guy does piss him off so much?
Still, the little contraption in his glasses wasn't just for show. The most basic of a ham radio he could put together with spare parts. But when he put his glasses back on, the receiver only gave him static. Funk could only pace as he turned the dial, hoping beyond hope for something. They must have been too far out, not even his Regime spy was answering. Or worse, his signal was being intercepted or traced. He had no choice but to turn it off and put it back, stranded until he could find somewhere with a better signal or come up with something else. Funk's thoughts were interrupted as he felt something wet seeping through his fuzzy sock. "Ugh, gross." He shuddered at the feeling but knelt down, driven by his simple need to know. The remnants on the floor were dark and stood out clearly against his skin. He didn't get a chance to look at it closer before Sean came out of the bathroom.
The Nemesis scoffed after he was done, blood hitting a boiling point as he walked towards the bathroom. He had his own wound to dress, but now realized he made a decent choice in giving Sean the scissors back. He was tempted, tempted to stab Sean half to death before leaving him here. Funk rarely got genuinely angry, but now his hands could barely stay still in his pockets. "What happened to not thinking of me so lowly anymore? Now keep your stupid assumptions to yourself and think of some way we can get out of here." His words were punctuated by the loud slam of the bathroom door, not particularly caring if he got caught again.
"Wait are you actually mad at me?" Sean asked in shock as he watched Funk walk past him, "Why?" He asked, sounding legitimately confused. Like sure, he could take a guess that he was offending Funk, but Funk also didn't seem like the type of person to care what anyone else thought so why was this bothering him? Sean held his side wondering just how wise it was to talk out their feelings instead of actually searching the house for something to block his wound. He was pretty certain the bullet grazed him enough to make him bleed, but wasn't inside of him, but he really wanted all the blood he had in him and not leaking out onto the floor. "Listen, I'm going to go get myself patched up, if you want to talk, I'll be in the kitchen," He said as he carefully walked into the kitchen collecting a towel, sponge, and other items.

Funk grabbed the edge of the sink. He was mad. Actually mad. Mad at Sean. He really couldn't pull himself together for some reason. Why now? He needed to focus. But he hated the way Sean talked about the League, talk about him. How he was inferior just because of the group he led. It ate away at him too much. Reminded him of home too much. Of getting yelled at constantly much. The blood seeped out of his white-knuckled grip onto the tiled sink. His lip was bleeding again.
Always bad with his emotions, he could only bottle them up. It was the only way he felt control until something like this brought them up again. Funk hated it more than anything. The only way he could reign it back was pain. The tiles behind him suddenly crumbled, he didn't even feel himself wind up. His hand even more scratched up, he saw something strange. The corner on one of the tiles had broken, revealing something behind it. Sure enough, it brought him right back.
"$#!^" Funk spat, pulling his hand out and grabbing at anything he could to stop the bleeding. It dripped down his arm and on the floor, but he scrambled enough paper towels and Band-Aid bandages to be able to clean it up and wrap it. His wounded hand ran through his hair as his good one tore apart the tile. Behind it was some sort of compartment and, low and behold, a key. It looked like the key Sean used. How funny. "Thanks my dear." He whispered to himself before slipping it into his pocket. There was little else of use in the bathroom, so he stepped out.
Really, the Nemesis didn't want to talk about it. It was drowned out by adrenaline but he was still mad. Mad for someone else's sake than his own. A weird feeling. But, unfortunately, he needed Sean. Even with the key, he was lost and had no concrete way to call for back up. He breathed deeply through his nose, poking at anything the house had to offer as he made his way over to the kitchen. "Look." He started when he entered the kitchen, but paused, trying to think of how he was supposed to say this, "Uh... I'm mad that you keep making these assumptions about me and the League when you don't really know anything about us. If I wanted to ditch you, I would have already." Now he sounded like a preschool teacher. Man, he was lost. He couldn't help but fidget with one of the ends of his hair as he spoke.
