A rattling sound slithered its way through the forest near SunClan's border as the tom approached his destination. His steps were certain and powerful, but equally cautious. It had been a long time since the tom returned to SunClan and fulfilled his end of the bargain, so Omega had his reservations about returning. He knew the Sun could not smite him even if it wanted to. He had no soul to burn away, but the deity certainly had other ways of making him suffer. He did not fear the Sun anymore, but he did not want to waste him time being tortured by some history-loving Janus or whatever they were called. If Foxstar did try something, he'd kill her. Sure, he'd never get redemption, but the tom ruined his own afterlife long ago. What harm would a high profile kill do to his standing?
The last patron passed through as he stalked over the final hilltop before the SunClan border. So it begins. It did not take him long to find some thyme growing on the river banks. He covered himself in the pungent herb and waded into the river and followed it down until he saw the Water Logged Ruins. He slid out of the river's icy grip onto dry land, and, taking no time to rest, found the cellar door. He open it just wide enough for him to slip inside. It took a moment for his icy optics to adjust to the darkness, but then he rushed towards the small, golden hook on the wall. He lowered his head and the two necklaces slid off. Each necklace had twenty vertebrae apiece, from twenty different meals, his usual offering. The fading light from outside warned him of the night's approach as he fled the scene, letting the cellar door close abruptly and loudly behind him. Paying it little thought, he scaled a small tree overlooking the small, decrepit cottage. His offering was weeks overdue. The tabby wanted to see these one through.

LITTLESTAR
SUNCLAN HIGH PRIESTESS
Littlestar's ear flicked backwards as a loud thud echoed through the waterlogged ruins. It wasn't the first time she had heard the cellar doors slam shut in the wind, but it also meant that someone had been inside... probably some overly curious apprentice on dare. Rising to her paws, she made her way over in that direction rather unhurried to check on the situation. If they were mouse-brained enough to get themselves stuck in there, then perhaps a healthy dose of fear would do them good. Yet as the ruins came into sight, it was clear that there wasn't anyone nearby. There were no scents in the wind to indicate that anyone had been there since the morning patrol.
With a sigh, she nudged open the door and made her way cautiously inside. Even if it wasn't an overly curious apprentice, they would still need to find out why the cellar door was opening and shutting on it's own. Perhaps another animal had managed to open it, but there was no strange scents nearby. It was much to dark to see much at first, but as her eyes adjusted the glint of the bones caught her attention. She moved forward, examining them carefully. Unlike many cats, bones did not scare her. She was a healer, and it took only moments to realize that these were not the bones of a prey animal... they were from a cat. She picked them up gently, carrying them out into the sunlight.
[hey so do you want to have littlestar take one of his lives? that would more or less pacify him.]
The former Stratego did not recognize the she-cat when she appeared from the shadows. He had seen her before, but who she was failed to enter his mind. His eyes blazed with a mix of emotions. He timed his placement perfectly. He watched the last patrol leave some time ago, and the sound definitely could not have found their ears, yet here she was, foiling his plans for a simple evening. The ambassador gaze burned into the Priestess. From her body language she did not want to be here either, so she would leave now, right? No. A soft hiss escaped his lips when she entered the ruins. He cursed and climbed down from his perch. She had to die. There was no other way. He knew that, but a burning fear raged is his gut. Something did not feel right, but it had to be done.
He prowled with the silent steps of a trained killer to the gates of the cellar. His claws flexed as he envisioned tearing into her flesh. Omega had never eaten a SunClan cat before. Unfortunately, they proved to be exotic outside of their own territory. He himself was a defector from this place. He never made it past initiation, but he still learned some of their traditions and techniques from the Janus. Foxstar developed the Clan in her image: brutal and destructive with a vibe of a cult. Whoever this cat was could probably fight well, but he knew more about her then she did about him.
As soon as she stepped from the cellar he pounced from the underside of the open door and landed on her back, then latching onto her back with his claws. His momentum sent the two tumbling, but he kept snapping his jaws towards her ear as they went. While he would enjoy a quick meal, he wanted this one to suffer for ruining his evening.

LITTLESTAR
SUNCLAN HIGH PRIESTESS
Littlestar was still blinking from the bright light of the sun, when she felt the sudden heaviness of the cat that had leapt onto her back. She felt her short legs buckle under the weight of the other cat, and the snap of his teeth near her ears as the two cats began to tumble. She used his weight against him, to continue to roll so that she could get the upper paw. If he managed to pin her it would be bad, but his extra weight meant that stopping his momentum when he wanted was near impossible. All she needed to do was to prick him with her claws during their tussle, then the advantage would be hers. As the rolled, she turned and began slashing at his underbelly and legs with all four feet. If this cat wanted to take her, she wasn't going to go quietly. She let out a hiss, attemptingto sink her teeth into his exposed throat above her.
He hissed in frustration and pain as the leader began to retaliate. All his bites missed the she-cat by a hair, and he lost the element of surprise. Perfect. He needed a new plan, one that did not involve getting shredded by the furious she-cat in their tumble. His quick planning got cut short when he saw her jaws reaching for his neck. Smart. He counted on surprise to cover his obvious gap in his defenses, and given her almost instantaneous recovery he underestimated her. He needed touch and technique, not the force he relied on to fight his usual prey. Fine. In her lashings she changed targets and grabbed onto one of her forelegs with his jaw. Using the foreleg as a pivot point he rolled his shoulder underneath the she-cat's jaw. He could not do much from his new position, but neither could she. His shoulders under her jaw protected his neck, and his closeness gave her little leverage for a deep gash on his stomach.
(i'm gonna try to make this fight scene quick. i'm pretty bad at writing them)

[attr="class","box2"]Littlestar yowled in pain as she felt his teeth sink into her foreleg as he covered up his throat with his shoulder. It was a smart move, and in most cases it would have been the correct course of action... but she wasn't a normal opponet.
However as she felt her back claws sinking deep into his exposed stomach, she knew that in a matter of moments his moves would begin to become sluggish before finally stopping all together. The faster his heart beat, the quicker the paralytic would spread throughout his body. She nipped at his shoulder, before pushing herself away and tearing her leg from his mouth. Blood began to run down her leg, the skin and underlying muscle ripped. It hurt, but this was a matter of survival.
The cat before her was no novice, and if she waned to make it out this she would have to play smart. The paralytic was in his system, now all she had to do was stay out of his reach for long enough for it to take effect. Most of her weight had shifted onto the uninjured leg as she prepared herself for the oncoming attack, fangs bared and coat bristling [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
He hissed again at the claws tearing through his stomach. The blood was a small price to pay. He wanted a meal and revenge. As a result of the pain he dug jaws further into her leg, only to have it violently ripped from his grasp. Pain coursed through his jaw as he spat out the leftover fur from her leg. She was a fun one for sure. He swiveled to meet her gaze, and rolled his neck. Strange. He had never cramped in a fight before.
Then he felt the same pang in his hind legs. His eyes blazed with anger and hate as he put the pieces together. She intoxicated her claws. Perfect. His scratches from the start of the fight were already numb, and he felt his breathing becoming labored. He chuckled escaped his lips. Of all the ways to go out. He tried to lunge for the she-cat's throat one more time, but found his muscles could not gather the strength he needed, so he fell short. He convulsed for a second, then lay still as he mind faded into oblivion.

[attr="class","box2"]Littlestar wouldn't have been able to avoid the next attack so easily, but the poison had done it's job. Before the tom could reach her, his body wasn't able to move. She sat back on her haunches licking her wounded leg as she watching him fall to the ground. As his body convulsed she saw to her own wound, knowing that her leg was going to be painfully sore for a while now. She cleaned the wound, before making her way over to the body of the other cat. She had never seen them before.
She sniffed trying to identify who this cat was, and why they had decided to attack her. It was rather brazen to come onto SunClan's territory and attack their High Priestess. SHe had to give them credit, they had put up a decent fight. If she hadn't been prepared this could have gone very differently [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
(I thought about it a little bit. He died and his soul would normally go to wherever and do whatever, but its already with the Sun God, so the life he lost joined his soul. Instead of a nice little chat with his ancestors, he feels the life he lost burning away and reforming in the presence of the Sun before returning to his body. Let me know if you want me to change this.)
He had lost a life before. It was a long time ago, but he remembered what it felt like. He recalled the knowledge of ancestors accompanying the reawakening of his mind. The had covered Toxicity's old territory as far as the eye could see. This time was nothing like it. He opened his eyes surrounded by a blinding light. He could feel his fur singing and catching fire, and, even when he closed his eyes, his corneas burning away until he could only see darkness. He could not bear the infernal heat, and cried out in terrible pain as he faded into nothingness. Then, it started again. The heat reignited his flesh as the flames consumed him once again. Just like the last time. Another earsplitting scream filled the burning emptiness as nothingness claimed him once again.
Suddenly, his consciousness returned. He gasped in his first breath and exhaled in an earsplitting shriek. His icy optics regained their focus with panic still alight in his eyes. They frantically scanned his surroundings until they found the mysterious cat standing over him. As much as he wanted to rip her throat out, he was in no state to fight. His death had not been as invigorating as his prior one had been. His heart still felt like it could pound out of his chest, and his breaths came in random time. That, and she could easily kill him again with that poison. Perhaps a little lighthearted humor would de-escalate this. "Has... anyone ever told you... that poison... is the coward's weapon?"

[attr="class","box2"]Littlestar had been leaning over him, her nose barely hovering over his head to take in the scent, when his sides suddenly rose and a gasp filled the air. She blinked, jerking her head upwards in surprise, had he somehow managed to fool her? No he had been dead. His heart had stopped, his breathing had stopped. There was no faking that. There was only one other explanation, whom ever this cat was they had been given more than one life.
She gave him a moment as he came to, even though she probably should have pounced and put an end to it. The wound on her leg was still pulsating pain through her body, and she wasn't entirely sure that she would manage to surprise him a second time with it. It was better to avoid a second bout, and judging by his current condition he wasn't exactly in fighting shape either
"Did anyone ever tell you that it is impolite to attempt an assassination on sacred land?" she scoffed turning her nose up and settling back into a sitting position. "This is SunClan's territory, you should consider yourself lucky that poison is how you died. I could have had you incenerated or roasted slowly over an open flame"
The tom's eyes rapidly dilated rapidly to adjust to the new light. The tom could barely make out the leader's form as they began to focus on something. The tom rolled over and started to get up, but collapsed back onto his stomach. An exasperated his escaped his lips. He wanted to get up. He wanted to move, but he physically could not will it. "No denial, I see. All right. I guess you're a self aware coward. Respectable, for an initiate. Also, props for getting away from the savages." The paint markings were new to the tom, and his running assumption was that they marked initiates.
He grumbled before settling back down to wait for his strength to return to him. His ears swiveled to listen for the sounds of approaching cats. None"Sacred land, hmm? It's only sacred 'cause your Clan decided to settle down here." His breathing had begun to settle, but his lungs felt as if they were on fire. Perhaps this was the effect of having nothing to ground him to his body or something when he lost a life. "Besides, your Sun God more or less burned the hell out of me. I'm sure you couldn't do anything worse. "

[attr="class","box2"]Her whiskers twitched in amusement, as the tom before her called her an initiate. Who was this cat? Apparently he had been a leader at some point, and had some knowledge of SunClan even if it was current. Was he a former member of the clan? She debated over playing along with his little delusion, allowing him to believe what he wished for the time being.
"I'm afraid I need you back to SunClan for questioning" she stood, forcing her injured leg onto the ground firmly, blood oozing down the long wisps of her fur and mixing with the paint. Even if she had no clue who this cat was or what he was doing, Foxbane and Mountainsound surely would. If he was some sort of escaped initiate, he would answer for what ever crimes he had committed. "It is in your best interest to come quietly. After all, it seems that you have already experienced what happens when you refuse to comply with the Sun God's wishes. Perhaps if she allowed him to believe that she was only an inititiate he would be more willing to cooperate.
Questioning. He understood what that meant, but it did not scare him. The leader understood who he was, and would not kill him. Well, she would not permanently kill him. The leader would easily take another life. It would suck, but he could get through it alive, and never deal with whoever this one was again. In any case, he did not have the strength he needed to get out of this. He had no choice but to go with her. He had quietly resigned to that part of it when he woke up. It pained him, but he did not deny the reality he was in.
"I don't have much of a choice in the matter, so let's just get on with it, shall we?" He growled and rolled onto his paws. His legs quivered as he rose to his feet with an almost inaudible groan. He swept his tail low to the ground and widened his stance. "If you want to get back in any decent time, then you should just leave my here. You'll have to get to the evening prayer or whatever before the sun sets." The dark tabby glanced down at her leg and chuckled. "I'd get that looked at to. I've eaten enough cats that I probably have so weird disease in my bite." He shrugged and walked past her. "Who knows, maybe you're already dead."

[attr="class","box2"]He had spunk, she would give him that much as he rose to his paws grumbling the whole way. Whoever this cat was wasn't well informed of the current state in SunClan, so the more he talked the more she was leaning towards him being a deserter "You always have a choice" she replied firmly, keeping her eyes focused on the tom before her "It's the consequences of that choice that are difficult"
Whatever the case may be, she wasn't about to allow him to just walk away after attacking her in broad daylight. Had it been another one of her warriors that had fallen into the trap or had she not been prepared, more than likely they would have been dead.
"My leg will be fine" it was sore and needed to be cleaned, have some herbs applied, and wrapped. But it would heal. "I appreciate your concern after the harm you caused, but there is no reason to fret" her gaze narrowed "Now then, let us move onwards"
[I'm not sure if you want him captured or not? If not, it changes my next response XD]
(He should get captured. He warranted it and can't really get out of it at this point.)
He remained silent, but gears were turning inside of his head. His assumptions and his reality did not line up as they should. She did not hold herself like an initiate would. She had the wisdom and confidence of someone beyond her years. The comment on choices and consequences rarely dawned on someone unless they had been through a tragedy, or taught it by a mentor, in which case its used to sound smart. Hers was heartfelt, and had a depth his own advice used to carry. There was more to her than met the eye. The tom's face showed no signs of these thoughts through practiced and perfected nonchalance.
"I'm touched that you think I'm concerned, but I am not. I'm merely looking out for my own safety, as you certainly are right now." His icy eyes homed in on the horizon. "You don't want anything to do with me. You want to let me go, but you're trying to please someone. Maybe Foxstar, or is it Valleystar now?" He let out a faux sigh of frustration. He hoped Foxstar still ran the place. She'd hurt him a bit and let him go free. Valleystar... frankly he did not remember what she looked like. "The details escape me. It's gotta be Foxstar or one of her mindless puppets. Anyway, you want a leg up once you're given a sunflower, so now you're taking me in. Not because you want to, but because it's in your self-interest."
It was a test of his assumptions. If he was terribly wrong, which he had come to expect, then he verifies it. If not, then he got a point across to her. He had nothing to lose at this point.

[attr="class","box2"]The only cat I seek to please is the Sun God" she answered, careful not to give him any information and keep her face rather devoid of emotion as he mentions Foxstar and Valleystar... She remembered that Valleystep has once been a deputy under Foxstar and even though she had never met them, it was clear that this cat was throwing out names trying to gather more information about what they were being lead into. Let him keep talking, the more he spoke the more she would find out about who exactly it was that she had in her custody.
She kept him moving forward at the pace her leg and his injuries allowed them to move, which wasn't as fast as she would have liked "You attacked a SunClan cat, on SunClan land... For someone who knows so much about SunClan, even you must know that was a rather unsafe decision" her tail flicked slightly "your words are not aligning with your actions"
'The only cat I seek to please is the Sun God'. She certainly was not an initiate. Her words were too carefully chosen to be a newcomer, and an Initiate would be far more concerned about missing the evening prayer. Whoever this she-cat was had the authority to miss such an obligation if she deemed it necessary. He turned his gaze to the paintings again. The patterns were elaborate, and clearly required some expertise to make. The stuff had to come from some herb in the territory. SunClan was too proud to trade for it. He returned his eyes to the forest ahead. Maybe she was a Soothsayer or Janus. They had the power to demand such elaborate markings, and one of them would walk like her. The Soothsayer would explain her devotion and the venom on her claws, but she did not seem to be the compassionate type.
He chuckled again and rolled his eyes as she spoke. This cat reminded him why he left the Clan when he did. "There it is again. You and your kind are not above anyone else. You worship the Sun, but I know you die like any other cat." It had been quite some time since he had fought a SunClan cat and killed them, but certainly had done it before. "The brainwashed still bleed." His claws scrapped against a rock underneath his feet. "Anyone understands blood. "

Littlestar
SunClan High Priestess
The Peace Keeper
"Understand, but not fear" she commented, even though he had a point, he still wasn't quiet understanding "I agree, all cats bleed. All cats die. It's how we take these facts of life the separate SunClan from the others" as the left the sunflower fields behind them, they neared the ceremony springs. The hot red waters were raging after the recent rains, but not yet covering the bridge that allowed access to the large hill in the center island standing watch overhead "In SunClan it is considered out duty to bleed for our God, an honor to die in his service"
A white warrior with colorful designs painted onto him came racing over to meet them as they neared the bridge. Romancefable bowed his head low, nearly kissing the ground at Littlestar's feet "My High Priestess" he addressed her formally, only returning to his paws at the dismissal of his High Priestess. It was obvious that he wanted to say something about her wounds but held his tongue. He was one of today's guards to the ceremony springs, waiting at the bridge to keep anyone uninvited from entering
