He didn't really notice the pins of claws in his back, attention mostly on the ground in front of him so he could keep the kit balanced. The Janus was fluffy, guess he had that over Foxbane, more so when he could feel the slight nuzzling into his shoulders. "I guess for you, lie about spending time with me." Moonlit has his own issues, lying had become a constant practice. He felt like his dad, doing his best to lead everyone astray but failing at it. No matter what he said, people would think he was lying anyway so.
"Why?" Of course, the dreaded questions all kits asked. Discordantkit may be a little weird but did suffer all the same pitfalls as anyone else her age. She continued to nuzzle Moonlitnocturne's back and began to also knead softly at his shoulders as she waited for his answer. A calming rhythm most cats defaulted to when they were getting comfortable with the ones they treasure most. Well, that was the idea anyway, Discordantkit's interactions with Moonlitnocturne could be counted on one paw she she was definitely skipping ahead a couple of steps. She yawned and began to edge even closer to true unconsciousness. She kept one ear swiveled toward the Janus's mouth, though, eager to ear the answer before she really did fall asleep.

Moonlitnocturne didn't mind the sudden closeness. No one had really been this close or appeared to enjoy his presence since he came back to Sunclan. Maybe not entirely true, but that was the impression he got. Of course, befriending a kit meant the awful "why" question. Even if he was a Janus, he was more like a sub-Janus. Not taken quite as seriously as the others but enough to where he could have the black paint on his forehead. He didn't answer for a bit, wondering if the slow pace would lull her to sleep before he needed to. It didn't, feeling as she continued to knead his pelt. "Because I don't want you getting in trouble." Was the best answer he could give her. Spending time out of camp, already an issue. Spending time out of camp with a kit killer, grounds for a huge scolding.
"Oh, okay." Discordantkit replied sleepily. Despite Moonlitnocturne's reputation, she had always felt very comfortable around her oldest brother. It was a mixture of her carefree nature and a true connection the two somehow shared. Her kneading slowed until her paws were doing little more than twitching occasionally and her breathing became deeper. She continued to purr for some time after that but fell wholly asleep a few minutes later.
(so options - 1) I bring in Bloody 2) you bring in Contamine 3) we bring in both or 4) we can invite Honey and see what Fox thinks about all this xD Unless you have another idea? a badger? an intruder?)

(yeah 3 for now)
Moonlit hesitated, wondering if Discordantkit would actually buy that. Though really, he should trust a kit's instincts more. He couldn't help it, knowing that few of his siblings were comfortable with him since he came back. Even the ones that didn't know him before were probably fed stories from Foxbane. He wasn't sure. And he wouldn't for a while as she slowly drifted to sleep. The Janus' paws slowed, giving in to the overpowering smell of Sunclan as he got closer to camp.
Though a little charcoal bengal drank them all in. Her eyes were now blank, scarred over as she learned how to differentiate everything. Being on someone's back was a little frightening, she had no sense of where they were going. Just that they were getting closer to her sister.
"Isn't it beautiful today?" Maybe not the smartest comment to make to a recently blind kit, but no matter, he had good intentions. It was the whole reason he had allowed his younger sister to climb onto his back and go on a short adventure, after all. Bloodyrondo plainly felt terrible for Contaminatekit. She had absentee father. One of her siblings was promoted to Janus when they hadn't earned it. He could really relate to her on those aspects. Yet, Contaminekit's own body worked against her; she was sickly, blind, scrawny. He really wondered what the future held for this delicate she-cat. The Priest Promised prayed to the Sun God that it would be at least half bright as his own, "The Sun feels great against my pelt, it's been awhile since we have had such a pleasant weather. So where, would you like to go, Contaminatekit? I'll take you anywhere you want... within reason."
Bloodyrondo had been so focused on balancing the young bengal on his back that he very nearly ran into Moonlitnocturne coming from the other direction. He tensed up and lashed his tail for a moment, ready to full on fight with his brother like usual, but this time he had a more impressionable audience. He choose his words a little carefully,"What are you doing alone and outside of camp, Draculad? Or has Littlestar allowed you out on your own?" He hadn't noticed Discordantkit yet. The little she-kit was still fast asleep, or at least was pretending to be.
(I know this is before NovaClan, Bloody is just picking at an old wound. He knows Moonlit can go wherever he wants right now xD)

(gotcha)
Contaminatekit was all that. Meek, Sickly, and now Blind. But she didn't seem to let it stop her. Well, stop her from getting what she wanted. Which was mostly getting to laze around all day. The blindness helped, made her more pitiable. She didn't really know anything else other than pity. Today, she settled into the priest promised's soldiers. She didn't really notice the promise uncouth comment. More choosing to ignore it than anything else. The charcoal bengal opened her mouth, about to shout something about going to the abandoned house she now decided was near when the smell of her other brother and sister came to her.
Draculad took a quick step back when he ran into Vampmyers, hoping he didn't rattle Discordantkit too much. But with Bloodyrondo, he was never quite sure what would happen. His light pelt puffed up just a little, but it smoothed as he started to talk. "What about you, Vampmyers? I thought she'd still be babysitting you."
Contaminatekit could feel the tension in the air, it came a bit more naturally when she couldn't see. "No fighting." She squeaked with a huff. They couldn't pay attention to her if they were fighting, after all.
Bloodyrondo was about to fire off another insult when he heard some borderline maniacal laughter from the other side of Moonlitnocturne. He padded past the Janus's flank and found the mostly-black Discordantkit clinging to his brother's back like a shadow. He gave Moonlit an incredulous look. His brother had a history of being abusive with kits and was usually not allowed around them unsupervised. Yet, here he was, strolling around with one of Foxbane's on his back, just the same as he was. It was such an odd encounter. Was the Sun God trying to tell him something? Perhaps the young Priest Promised was thinking on this too deeply. Sometimes coincidences were just that and nothing more, "Moonlit, you know you can't---"
"You would say that, sissy!" Discordantkit interrupted Bloodyrondo and aimed a strike at Contamintekit, who was well within reach of her claws. She didn't treat her blind and feeble sister any different than any other of her siblings. He statement about no fighting was annoying her, too. Fights are the most fun!

Of course, Contaminatekit couldn't see the strike. But she anticipated it. Discordantkit never treated her any differently than when she could see. It was so annoying. She took a step back, almost falling off of Bloodyrondo's back, feeling her sister's paw swipe through her whiskers. "Of course you'd disagree. You don't have to lie around and listen to these two bicker every day." Okay, Contaminate didn't all the time, but she spent enough time in the Soothsayer's den to hear everything she needed to. Discordantkit was a pain, per usual, always messing with her plans. The little charcoal bengal could barely get her footing back though, and her swipe back at Discordant was just as halfhearted.
"You're right but you don't need to say it." Moonlitnocturne huffed, his words full of humor. Taking a step back from keeping these two from attacking each other, his gaze flashed between the two.
"I see you are teaching that one your manners." Bloodyrondo said, also taking a step back reflexively, although by this point the kits were well out of each other's reach. He hated seeing the two of them fight. Foxbane's most recent litter had a lot of strong personalities, it seemed he spent half his visits to the nursery breaking up some disagreement between them. Discordantkit seemed to enjoy pushing others' buttons, but Contaminatekit was no princess, either, despite how much she tried to act like one, "You two are sisters, you need to get along or you'll end up with a permanent frown on your face like Moonlitnotcurne."
The ginger tom then turned his eyes back to his brother. He was a between a rock and a hard place now, "I can't very well leave you unattended with Discordantkit. I guess you'll have to come along with us... Conatminatekit, did you decide where you wanted to go?"
Post by strawberrycupid on Feb 11, 2020 20:01:36 GMT -5
"Or as high and mighty as Bloodyrondo here." Moonlit lifted his head towards Bloody, a brief huff leaving his nose. Though that was saying a lot. The kits were already hoisted on high horses. Moonlit never spent much time in the nursery, but he could at least guess how it went with these two alone. Discordant, who always played rough and wasn't overly concerned for other's sakes; and Contaminate, who always wanted to be in the right and coddled. A pair already, he couldn't imagine having six more to deal with.
When Bloody brought up the idea of him and Discordant having to tag along with them somewhere, his expression briefly baffled. "You can't be serious? I couldn't get away with hurting one of Foxbane's even if I wanted to." Not trusting him with kits was a fair mistrust, but even Moonlit was no fool to mess with Foxbane's kits. The only reason Burningkit came with him to the twoleg place was that he insisted on it. "And last I checked, this one needed to get back for a nap." His ears pinned back to point at Discordant. "If you got to insist. how about you walk us back to camp before heading off to wherever you're going?"
"But there are ruins around here, right?! I wanna go... smell them!" Contaminatekit had dropped the spat the instant Bloodyrondo asked her where she wanted to go. Though she still wasn't used to the idea of not seeing a place. Bouncing lightly on Bloody, the blind bengal continued. "Besides, Moonlit, aren't we closer to the ruins then camp? Let's just go real quick."
Bloodyrondo wasn't too eager to take Contaminatekit to the ruins. It wasn't that safe of a place and definitely was not very exciting. He had said that he would take her anywhere that she wanted to g, though. He didn't want to make himself a liar by suggesting some place else like the ceremony springs or sunflower fields even if he knew she'd have a better time there. He'd have to make the best of this. There was a lot of catnip at the ruins, maybe he could find a little patch for the kits to roll in or something, "Uh, sure, we can go to the ruins. But you will probably have to stay on my back the whole time, the ground is mostly wet over there and I can't have you catching a cold."
"Oh I can nap later, I wanna see the ruins!" Discordantkit said to Moonlit and then yawned. She was not very convincing. She nuzzled the space between Moonlitnocturne's shoulders anyway, doing what she could to lay on the charm, "Will you please please take me too? It'll be so much fun!"
"Of course he will, Discordantkit, I'm ordering him to follow and he will because I'm his superior." Bloodyrondo cut into their conversation then changed subjects before anyone could react, "Alright, let's get going."

It didn't matter if it was boring or not. If it was safe or not. If no one else wanted to do it or not. It was the princess' orders. So basically law. Though now she had to deal with her sister, who was always a pain. And of course, she perked up at the chance to go before quieting back down. Gee, she was just gonna slow them down. "Oh whatever. Onwards, peasants!"
"Fine. Can't loose the Priest Fool's big head anyway." He sighed. Whatever. At least he could maybe push Bloody into the water or something.
(no worries, you can give me short replies all day, I like both styes of roleplay and will do the same to you I'm sure xD)
"Now, Contaminatekit, you can't keep calling people peasants..." Bloodyrondo said half-heartedly and started trudging toward the ruins. He struggled greatly lecturing her on account of her health issues and blindness. To him it was always like kicking a man when he's already down. He constantly treated her differently, like she needed extra help and attention, and let her get away with more than most out of pity. In other words, she had him right around her claw.
"What's a peasant?" Discordantkit giggled, still quite a bit slap-happy, she probably knew what it was but she wanted to hear Bloodyrondo define one. She stretched her legs over Moonlitnocturne's side, letting them dangle in the air, sure to make balancing her a little harder.
"A peasant is... uh... the same as a prisoner, as far as you are concerned." Bloodyrondo replied, he had to be careful here since these two kits did come from prestigious bloodlines. If anyone was royalty, it would be them. He didn't want them to become aware of this at such a young age, though, and shot Moonlitnocturne a quick glare, daring him to challenge his words.
"Rude, Contaminatekit!" Discordantkit tried to swipe at her again but was way too far away to even hope to hit. Her paw slammed into Moonlitnocturne's side but her claws were sheathed.

(thank you ;~
Well, why not. You call a horse a horse, after all. Contaminatekit pouted, not that anyone saw but let out a purr and buried her face into Bloody's shoulders. "Alright, big brother, I'll stop." She purred, nuzzling him slightly before sitting back up. "I thought it was a term of endearment, but I guess not." She sighed.
Moonlitnocturne let out a huff, a light laugh as the group talked. Contaminatekit was alright, though not quite the level of master manipulator as her parents. He started to walk a little funny, to try and keep Discordantkit on his back. Much as she seemed to try and make things harder, His brow lifted and he gave his brother a sharp smile, keeping quiet this time.
"It's okay, sweetie, you didn't hurt anyone's feelings," There Contaminekit goes, being super cute again. It made Bloodyrondo's heart just melt. If only her siblings were half as agreeable as she was. The ruins were just coming into sight now, looming over the horizon. The blind kit on his back would not have been able to see it, obviously, but she would feel the change in temperature as the makeshift patrol entered the building's shade. It was honestly a sort of eerie, broken-down place, not exactly the safest location for a kit play date.
"WOW that thing is huge! How come twolegs need such big nests?" Discordantkit marveled, standing now on Moonlitnocturne's shoulders. She made the back of his pelt look like a tangled mess; he would surely have to spend quite some time grooming them out when he go back to camp, "How big is a twoleg anyway??!"
"Uhhh..." Bloodyrondo had never seen a twoleg before, so he didn't know. He hated asking, but he was kind of curious too, "Moonlit, you've seen one, right? Answer her question."
Post by strawberrycupid on Mar 8, 2020 21:50:03 GMT -5
"Really? Are you sure?" Contaminatekit crooned sweetly, pulling herself away from Bloodyrondo's shoulders. Voice filled with so much hope that what he said was true, enough to make Moonlit roll his eyes. She couldn't help but shiver some as the group entered the shade. Dark pelt only insulating her so much, she looked around. Which was really only turning her head so she could listen to the scattering around her. Breathing in the smell of rotting wood and dust, she held herself on the Priest Promised's back, even smoothing it out a little.
Moonlitnocturne bit on his cheek, all those strands of fur twisting in their roots. He wanted nothing else but to push the kit off his pelt and groom it, just to relax those nerves. He grinned as Bloody couldn't answer her question. "You really don't remember seeing them? Memory must be going in your old age." His ear swiveled as a squeak, but he couldn't tell if the kit was shocked Moonlit said something like that or if she was stifling a laugh. Either way, he didn't really care. Turning so they faced the doorway, he lifted a paw and pointed at it. "A little shorter than that usually. Though some are taller. And they need the big nests cause they tend to travel with a lot of different things. Like pack rats with their collections. Can't leave it behind."
"Of course not, we were only a couple of weeks old, younger than these two. Even if we had seen one you'd have to be a freak to remember it," Bloodyrondo scoffed and took a few steps closer to the structure to Moonlitnocturne wouldn't see the embarrassment on his face, "I figured you probably saw one on your little ... uh... adventure. Anyway. Contaminatekit, Discordantkit, what do you think about actually going inside?"
These ruins were long abandoned and safe enough, or so Bloodyrondo thought. The problem was that much of the wood was old and rotten; It was up to debate if the floorboards would under the weight of four cats standing so close together. The door had long ago rusted through its brackets and lay in pieces on what used to be a bit of a deck. The four steps leading up to it seemed pretty sturdy, though, so the ginger tom started padding toward it without looking back to see if his brother was following.
"Oh yes yes yes!" Discordantkit leaned forward on Moonlit's back, trying to direct him same as a jockey would his mount.
Post by strawberrycupid on Mar 13, 2020 17:00:01 GMT -5
"You can just say you put the brainpower into running your mouth rather than actually paying attention to your surroundings." Moonlitnocturne rolled his eyes, following Bloody up the steps. That's what he called it. An adventure. Not a desperate attempt to change his life, his opportunity to get away. His last taste of freedom. Now it was called an adventure like he was just a kit sneaking out of camp. It made him bitter, pushing him forward without even needing to be led by Discordantkit. Besides, he was lighter than Bloody so the wood wouldn't crack under him as easily. It groaned and squeaked as his white paws pressed into it. Contaminatekit behind him had held her mouth open for so long but vigorously nodded. The squeaks of 'ooh, I want to too. but I don't want you to get hurt' made Moonlit spin around. "Yeah, come on Bloody. 'Less you're scared."
Moonlitnocturne was really getting on Bloodyrondo's nerves. Not much of a surprise. Bloody was easy to fire up and Moonlit knew just what to say to get him going. If the two toms had been alone he would have probably pinned Moonlit down and tried to make him eat grass for the insult. Yet, he had to reign himself back for the sake of the kits. He didn't want them to think for a second that it was okay to treat each other the same way he treated his brother.
"As if, this was my idea, after all," He replied without hesitation, but it was a bit of a lie, he was nervous. It was like super forbidden to go climbing inside this structure. There was no telling if a twoleg was inside or not. Honestly, anything could be in here, the door was wide open and the only cat that ever got so close was Littlestar herself. Even then she had no reason to actually go inside. Whatever, Bloodyrondo was Priest Promised and he was going to prove it, "Contaminatekit, no matter what, make sure to stay on my shoulders." He repeated the same warning as he entered the room.
Bloodyrondo didn't get much time to process the cabin itself: He was more preoccupied with a scurrying sound that started pretty much the moment he cast a shadow across the entryway. Several sets of eyes were illuminated by the setting sun at his back. There was a musky, sort of off odor in the air. The creature was a sickly gray-white with a hairless pink tail and misshapen lumps on its back. The Priest Promised didn't move right away and neither did the animal. A stare off. Good thing Contaminatekit was blind...
"WOAH WHAT IS THAT?!" Discordantkit called out, jumping off Moonlit's shoulders and creeping across the dusty floorboards toward the creature.
(it's an opossum with a bunch of babies on its back. feel free to power play it. I was gonna have it play dead xD)
