(What do you want to do now that Funk likes Glow?)
"Amazing" she purred, finally calming down over the incident. She met Funk's gaze with her own, feeling a magnetic pull toward him. An urge to brush against him and entwine her tail with his but why was she feeling this way? Her mother never showed affection toward anyone she had ever seen and her father...well, she wasn't even sure who he was but she had never been shown love so how was it that she could feel something she only imagined love could feel. Or maybe it wasn't even love. Perhaps it's lust but Mellori couldn't tell the difference. She hadn't felt this way about anyone. Never had she wanted to be so close to someone that they would touch.

(so now all flings and such are gonna take place before novaclan. cause it's during it that funk x glow becomes a thing. and considering this is before that, we good)
Gee, that spike in adrenaline really took it out of him. That's what he gets for showing off to cute girls. The show world wasn't much for love, just genetics and the like. His parents tolerated each other. The world he came from was drenched in using others for your own personal gain. That was a philosophy he had a hard time shaking, not that he put much effort in trying to. Even if he craved the touch of someone else, it was just that. A touch. A reminder they were there, or that he was there. He already was a little touchy, so that came naturally. Love and affection were worlds away, but their sweetness was easily replicated. The bengal gently came startlingly close, opening up that opportunity if she wanted to. "So, think you can beat that?" He asked daringly, but lightly enough where it wasn't a demand.
She dug her claws into the earth as he got closer, trying to steady herself. She wasn't sure if she would move away or move toward him if she didn't have her claws in the earth. She didn't want to really find out, either. What if he didn't like her? What if she was reading the signs all wrong and completely ruin any friendship they were building? "Oh, I'm not sure I can!" She admitted with a smile. Her cheeks began to feel sore. This was the most she had smiled in all her life. "Why don't we just stroll for now? That...thing you did back there was pretty intense." Not that she was scared, it was more exhausting than anything. "I know some where we can go" she mewed, turning in the direction of the place she had in mind.

Funk was as light as air, a moment away from teasing her a little more but holding back. He had little patience for much in his life but managed to temper himself for a bit. The questions of likes or not hadn't even crossed his mind, though he was amused by her quick admittance. He was relieved at the idea of a break though. "Course. Lead the way." And she acted like she didn't know her way around. The Nemesis didn't feel like pointing that out, exhausted some as he followed her.
There was one particular spot she enjoyed in the city besides the river. That was quite peaceful, too, but there were often two-legs surrounding that area. However, there was one place that had no two-legs and it was breath taking. The black she-cat turned and padded away toward a special place. It didn't take long before they neared a building with bright colorful lights and loud music. She circled the building to a metal stairway that led all the way up the side of the building. The black she-cat padded up the stairway, hardly visible against the shadows. After a few twists and turns of the metal stairs, they arrive on the roof of the building. A single bench stood at the edge of the building, overlooking the city. The music from the building much quieter up on the roof but it could still be heard softly.
"We're here." She purred, leaping up onto the bench and taking a seat. She scanned the breath taking view, looking at all the lights of the city. Cars zoomed by beneath them and sirens could be heard miles away. A stiff breeze ruffled her black fur. She patted the seat beside her with her tail, gesturing for him to sit beside her.

The pro of the city was that there was always somewhere new to find. That's what he liked. The manor and estate, he memorized from the inside out. But he wasn't sure he would ever find every nook and cranny of the city. He followed Mellori in silence, nothing finding it's way to his mouth as they walked. It sure was out of the way though. Sometimes he lost sight of her and just walked forward until he spotted those eyes again. Finally, they reached the top of the building, and Funk did his best to not wheeze too much. He couldn't help approaching the edge first and staring down at all the cars as they zoomed by, lights that flickered and then were gone. He let out a purr. Nice. Very nice. He'd have to remember the way. Walking back to the bench and hopping onto it, he got to appreciate the horizon and the few colors it offered. "This is a nice little spot. How'd you find it?"
"I was being chased by a two-leg kit. It chased me around this building until I had no other way to go but up and I climbed until I got to here. Luckily, the two-leg kit didn't try to follow me up." She responded with an amusing twitch of her whiskers. "I'm glad you like it. I enjoy any time spent up here. You're the first one I have shown this to, though."

Human kids. Typical. When he was younger, some would pick him up and try to bring him home with them. He always managed to wriggle his way out of their sticky hands at least. A shiver ran over him at the thought, or maybe from the cold air up here. Still, the first one huh? "Really? That's sweet. Maybe we'll get to spend more time here."
We? She thought, surprised. Was he going to start coming up here from now on? Did she just lose her spot? "You can come as much as you want as long as you dont tell anyone else about this place" she joked, though a part of her was serious. She didn't want to come up there to get some space and then find a crowd of cats in her special spot.

"Of course. I had no plans on it." Funk answered, maybe a little too quickly but it was the truth. That was the beauty of the city, everyone could have their own place. A lot of date spots were nice when you needed to know the best back alley ways to go.
"Good" she smiled, casting her gaze out toward the view. She could always use her charm on any other tom but for some reason, it was hard to do that with Funk. Perhaps because he was the Nemesis, she wasnt sure. She wanted to get his attention but it wasnt as easy as she thought it was. "I had fun tonight" she mewed finally after letting a silence carry on between them.

It was always hard. His gaze was always looking the other way for any number of reasons. Most just didn't tend to interest him long enough. Sometimes he couldn't look anymore. Though he'd only had that with one person, and they were all the way in another clan. Funk shouldn't think about them, any thoughts would always make him feel some twist in his throat. It wasn't the time for that. The silence was a nice change, but when she spoke up again, he turned toward her. "Yeah, I did too. Almost died, but eh, need that sometimes. We'll have to do it again sometime."

"That." Funk lifted his paw and pointed it at her cheeks. Even against her dark fur, the look in her eyes made everything clear. "Like... i'm the only person here. Even if I'm Nemesis, it is flattering."
She turned away, bashfully. She had never felt this way, nor had ever had a reason to act in such a way. However, something about the Nemises brought it all out. He brought out a side to her she never thought she had. "What do you mean? Your a handsome tom, I'm sure you get these looks a lot." After those words poured from her mouth, she realized she had just implied that she liked him. Her heart dropped to the pit of her stomach as she waited for the Nemesis to catch on and leave her alone atop the building. Mellori knew many toms fell for her. It was fun and easy to lead them on because they all fell for her beauty instead of who she was as a cat but she never thought herself worthy enough of that level of attention from their leader.

He looked out towards the horizon again. It was too easy, far too easy for Funk to believe it was true. She knew the game, she played it. But here she was, being stringed along like she did to others. It was ironic, that Funk was known to do this but everyone believed the same thing. That he was different with them. But he never was. He wasn't loyal, but he at least never expected loyalty from anyone else.
He flushed a little at the sudden confession. "I suppose I do. But it's not quite the same. I get appreciated and all, but not really like I'm the only one here, you know? It doesn't help when it comes from a cute she-cat like you." It didn't feel quite right, but it was an attempt. An attempt to say this is different. That Mellori was different.
Mellori felt warm under her fur and tried to hold back the smile that was trying to appear. "Well, aren't you the charmer?" She purred. This was the most she had smiled in her life and it actually hurt. She normally didn't smile and couldnt understand why others smiled so much if it hurt this bad. Though, with Funk, she couldnt stop smiling. It was like it was impossible. He just brought it out in her. "Am I your next target, Mister Casanova?" It was suppose to be a joke but a part of her meant it. Did he really like her?

(that's okay)
Seeing her cheeks strain to smile, he reflected it. Her's shook and his stayed still. It was practiced, maybe natural. Nah, definitely practiced. "Next target? I got my sights set on you alright, but maybe for something more than next." One after the other, they fell. And he held the gun. It was times like these that reminded him of how good it felt.
