He knew in a vague, distant sort of way that other cats suffered losses of their own but with his own grief still so fresh to him, he didn't really think about any others. Pebblefur's admission of what she had suffered, and still suffering, opened his eyes to what others might be feeling. "I'm so sorry," Stonefang meowed sincerely. "I've been so wrapped up in my own sorrow that I didn't think about what others like yourself might be facing. And the same goes for me, too. I'm here for you if you ever want to talk." He moved closer and placed his tail lightly across her shoulders in a gesture of comfort.
"Oh, I see," Cutthroat meowed, relieved by what she said. He was glad Celestialglow wasn't turning her tail on EarthClan. "You're right. Nothing will be the same again and there's nothing we can do but go on." He looked down at his feet for a moment which seemed to be stuck in place. Then raising his head once again and looking at his lovely mate, he said, "Perhaps our new kits will help us move forward in this difficult time. Although they'll belong to SummerClan, EarthClan will live on in them."
"Thanks" she purred, blinking her deep green eyes. "We are almost there!" She darted forward and pulled a few bushes aside and revealed the look out peak of Summerclan. Stretched before them was the whole Summerclan territory. A stiff breeze blew, chilly, but welcoming. Pebblefur padded out onto the rock and took a seat on the edge, overlooking the territory. "Its not Earthclan but...its my home and I hope you find it just as beautiful as I do."
Celestialglow pressed her cheek to Cutthroat's. "Of course. They will always be Earthclan cats no matter where they live and they will always hear stories of where their blood comes from." She entwined her tail with his, purring loudly.

The breath caught in Stonefang's chest as he followed Pebblefur onto the rock. His eyes surveyed the whole panoramic area. "Why ... this is just like Look Out Rock in EarthClan!" he exclaimed. "Only the landmarks are different, of course." Tears began to form in his eyes, only this time these weren't tears of sorrow but of gratitude. Perhaps the two clans weren't really all that different after all. Maybe he should start concentrating on good things rather than wallow around in his grief, and maybe, just maybe things would begin to look better for him. "Thank you. Thank you so much for showing me this," he whispered.
"I'm so happy to hear that," Cutthroat meowed as he pressed his check back to hers. "So when did Graythorn say you have to move into the nursery? I don't want you taking any chances with your health or the health of our kits."
Pebblefur purred at his gratitude. She blinked at him and nodded her head slightly. "Your welcome, Stonefang. It's not Earthclan but maybe you will grow to love Summerclan, too. I know it's hard to let go, especially from a clan you grew up in. But Summerclan welcomes you and I do hope you decide to stay for good." She looked out over the territory once more. This was where her and Mallowfur had decided to become mates. Her heart began to ache as she remembered back to when he told her how he felt about her. Right in this spot. She hadn't been here since then. Stonefang finally gave her a reason to come back. To not only see this as a place to remember, but also as a place for new beginnings.
Celestialglow chuckled, finding it cute that he was already concerned about her. Her eyes sparkled with amusement. "He said whenever I feel ready to move in. Whenever it takes much more effort to hunt. Though, if the clans were to go into a battle right now, I would not be allowed to join. I would have to move into the nursery if that happens. But right now, I'm still okay to hunt and patrol."

"I'm staying here," Stonefang meowed. He looked over at Pebblefur once again and moved in closer to her and sat down. He thought back to when Graythorn and the others found them near the Moon Creek before they brought them to SummerClan. The medicine cat told them StarClan wanted them to be in SummerClan. Up until now he doubted that was true after the way things went the days following their arrival. But now he finally found a friend (other than the ones who had been in EarthClan) and things were looking better for him. He looked back at the pretty she cat and wondered if he should tell her why he came here. "I was wondering about something..." he started.
"Well I'm certainly glad to hear that," Cutthroat replied. "That makes a lot of sense." He was glad that SummerClan had some wits about them. "Just promise me you won't over do anything while you're hunting and such." As he looked out across the wildflower meadow an air current brought to his nose the fresh smell of mice. "How would you like to do a little hunting now?" he asked as his stomach growled. "I can do with a bite to eat."
She noticed he had moved closer and she smiled. She was glad he was warming up to her. She knew he needed a friend and she was honored that it was her. She perked her ears with interest at the beginning of his sentence. "What is it?" She asked, her voice soothing.
Celestialglow chuckled, "of course I will be careful." The same scent hit her nose just moments before her mate mentioned a hunt. She could feel her own stomach growling and realized she hadn't eaten yet today. "Oh yes! Let's hunt!"

"Only a few cats know this," Stonefang began. "Graythorn had a vision a couple of moons ago about three cats and he went looking for them. He found me, Cutthroat and Celestialglow near the Moon Creek. After talking with him he said we were the cats he saw in his vision and he was supposed to bring us to SummerClan. We were all amazed and came with him." He paused for a second as he shifted into a different position. "It's been a while since we've been here and we still don't know why we were supposed to come. I'm beginning to believe Graythorn was mistaken, that we weren't the cats he was seeking."
"I bet we can find some good ones here with all the flower seeds laying around," Cutthroat meowed. He recalled the recent catches coming into the fresh kill pile and noticed they were starting to get scrawny because of the colder weather. He took in a deep breath of air and zeroed in to where the mice were. "Over there," he whispered as he looked to an area ahead and slightly to their right. "Let's circle around this way so they'll have a harder time smelling us."
She smiled, "I think you already found out what it was. Where would you be right now if Graythorn didn't have a vision? Maybe they sent Graythorn to help you."
Celestialglow nodded, "that sounds like a great idea!" The golden tabby slipped forward, circling the mice.

Stonefang looked questioningly at Pebblefur. "No, I still don't know really. If it's just having a place to call home, I could have joined my son in FallClan." The pain of choosing to come here because StarClan supposedly wanted him to instead of going with his son still bothered him. "It has to be something more."
Cutthroat followed behind his mate, placing his paws down softly so not to cause any vibrations. The scent was growing stronger the further they traveled. He moved to the right just a little so he wouldn't be directly behind Celestialglow. He wanted an unobstructed path to the prey if need be.
Pebblefur thought for a moment. "Maybe your right. Maybe it is for something more but Starclan works in mysterious ways. Sometimes their plans happen immediately and sometimes their plans happen in time. Be patient. If there is more to this than what you can see, then you must be patient and it will come to you."
"How do you want to do this?" Celestialglow whispered to Cutthroat.

Stonefang sighed. He knew what she said was right. "You have wisdom in what you say," he replied. His eyes roved over the scenic view before him as he spoke. "It's just so hard at times to just wait."
"You lead the way," Cutthroat said softly. "I'll act as backup for any that might escape your claws." He smiled as he spoke knowing how confident Celestialglow is with her hunting prowess. She might take what he said as a tease, which was exactly how he meant it.
Pebblefur chuckled, "well, thank you." She followed his gaze out to the scenery. "I know it is. But maybe they have something great in store for you and they are just waiting for the right time to show it to you." She took in a deep breath and stretched. "Is there any other place you haven't been yet?"
Celestialglow gave her mate a playful smirk before stalking forward. When she felt she was close enough, she wriggled her haunches and launched herself at the mice. Her paws came down on two and within a couple swift bites, she had them lifeless at her paws. The rest of the mice scattered, some going toward Cutthroat.

"I'm sure I haven't seen all of SummerClan yet," Stonefang replied. He looked out over the land trying to spot any places he hadn't been. As his eyes fell upon the lake, he realized he hadn't been to the shore yet. The only waters he'd gone to so far were the streams that flowed near the camp. "I haven't been to the lake yet and I've heard tell of a waterfall somewhere around here too."
Cutthroat admired the way Celestialglow moved so silently and swiftly as she stalked. She's a born natural hunter, he thought as she neared the mice. He almost cheered when he saw her strike but stopped himself. They didn't need any unwanted distractions besides he saw some mice running straight toward him. He pounced but missed the one he was aiming for but landed on another unfortunate mouse instead. "Gottcha!" he mewed before killing it.

"Oh, yes! The waterfall! Let's go there!" Pebblefur gave a small bounce of excitement and bounded away in the direction of the waterfall.
Celestialglow bounced up to Cutthroat, her two mice dangling from her jaws. She dropped them with Cutthroat's catch. "Good catch, my love" she purred, nuzzling him.

A smile began to form on Stonefang's muzzle, the first in such a long while, as he followed the energetic Pebblefur. Perhaps things will get better for him in SummerClan. "Hey! Wait up!" he called as he ran to catch up with her.
Cutthroat glanced down at the mouse he caught laying with hers on the ground in front of him. It was smaller than the ones she brought in. She's very generous with her praise, he thought. Maybe she's teasing? He returned Celestialglow's nuzzling but he couldn't tell. "Thanks, but it seems you're the better hunter between the two of us."
Pebblefur slowed for Stonefang to catch up, her whiskers twitching in amusement. "So! Is Summerclan really different from Earthclan?" She asked, hoping she wouldn't upset him by talking about his home but it seemed like he enjoyed talking about it.
She purred and twitched her whiskers. "Maybe we both aren't that good of hunters but I would fight at your side any day!" She touched his shoulder with her tail tip. Her mate wasnt good at hunting and she knew that but she also knew her mate was exceptional in battle.

Stonefang answered Pebblefur after reaching her side. "Yes and no," he replied. "The land is both similar and different, the biggest difference being the great gorge that surrounded our territory. SummerClan doesn't have anything like that. Both clans have mountains and streams, however EarthClan cats rarely if ever fished." He wrinkled his nose as he remembered finding fish for the first time in the fresh kill pile. "But overall there's more things alike than different."
A broad smile lit up Cutthroat's face. "Likewise," he replied. "I can't imagine going into a battle without you. I haven't forgotten how you risked your life to help me during that battle with the dog just before the great flood." The bump on his head was now gone as well as the headaches he had suffered from it but the memories would stay with him forever.
"Wow! You had a gorge?" Her deep green eyes widened with interest and wonder. "I've never seen one before! Was it really big? Was it steep? Did it have water running through it? Did it have paths so you can go down from the top or up from the bottom? Were there any prey? What about fish? Do fish live in gorges? Was that your camp?" Before she realized it, all the questions she wanted to ask for a long time about a gorge came pouring out of her mouth. She quickly noticed she was asking a lot of questions and quickly shut her jaws and felt warm under her fur with embarrassment. "Oops, sorry. That was a lot of questions at once..." she gave an embarrassed chuckle.
Her cheeks warmed at his compliment. "Oh, dont give me all the credit! You were so brave! And the way you came to my rescue when fighting off a fox!" She pressed herself against Cutthroat once again. "Your my hero." She gave his cheek a quick, affectionate lick.

"It sure was," Stonefang replied with humor in his voice. It seemed ages to him since he laughed. "Where to begin ... The gorge went around our entire border. The only way across was an old bridge. It's very steep and high. Many cats had fallen to their deaths there. We didn't go into the gorge often because of the danger of falling. And as for fish in the river at the bottom, I really don't know. We didn't eat fish so there was no lure to that river to catch them even if they were there."
"I love you. You're the love of my life." Her words were an emotional caress to his soul. The feel of her warm body pressed against his sent waves of contentment through Cutthroat's body. Ah, if we could freeze time and stay like this forever! He enjoyed her presence in silence, every so often burying his muzzle into Celestialglow's neck fur. But this special time was interrupted by the rumbling of his belly. "I guess we should eat something."
Pebblefur listened intently, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Then, her smile faded when he mentioned cats dying. "Oh...that sounds awful...I dont think I could live near one. Knowing my luck, I'd be the one falling in-" she was cut short as she tripped over a log across her path and landed on her chin. She quickly shot to her paws once more and blew a loose leaf from her nose. "Oops. See what I mean?" She gave a sheepish grin and a shade of pink rose to her cheeks.
"Awe. I love you too and you are the love of my life." She sat there with him for a while, embracing the bonding moment they were sharing. It was until his stomach rumbled and she let out a giggle. "Yeah, I assume so. Let's get these back to camp and then we can share some prey together."
