Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She intently observed his movements from place to place, and she was impressed. The Heda did not take him for the graceful type, yet here he was gliding from structure to structure with the ease of a bird. She sighed once and then leaped for the dumpster and landed with a firm thud. After finding her footing she sprang up to the top of the decaying wall, but she could not find her footing fast enough and fell back down to the dumpster. The fall easily knocked the wind out of the Heda, so she just lay there for several heartbeats to catch her breath before slowly rising to her paws.
Raichi kept his eyes turned forward, studying the path, until he heard the leader tumble behind him. He whipped around and dashed to the edge, eyes widening. "You alright down there?" he called anxiously. He remembered that fall - he'd made it once or twice, though usually from lower down - and it hurt badly.
Her flank ached as she slowly inhaled the rotten air released by her impact. The pain was far from unbearable, but the Heda knew she would be able to feel it for the rest of the day and into the next at the very least. She hissed under her breath before curtly responding to the combatant. "Yeah, I think I'll be okay..." She jumped up to the ledge again and managed to get a better grip with her claws out, but still managed to start sliding back again.
This time, he was ready. Putting her dignity aside for a moment, the agile tom darted forward and grasped her scruff in his jaws. His muscles stood out as he struggled to hold onto her; then, slowly, he pulled back far enough to help her gain purchase atop the roof.
Anger boiled inside her when his teeth grabbed her scruff. It was beyond insulting, but so was falling into the dumpster a second time. As soon as she had a grip she launched her herself the rest of the way onto the ledge. "Thanks..."
"Don't mention it." Raichi stepped away quickly. His tone was firm: it wasn't him being humble, but rather he knew better than to try and imply the leader owed him anything. He'd get an ear shredded for that, at best. "Ready to keep moving on? We don't have to go so far." He could change up the route so it was less climbing for her.
