Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Blue instinctively winced away from Lorelei, not because she was afraid to be touched, more so that she just was not used to it. It didn't help that Lorelei's image was eerily contrasting, half bloody fiend, half consoling comrade. Still, the slight affection pulled Blue out of her own head, and she appreciated it, especially when she offered to help Blue take the bones to Elyon. Maybe Lorelei was not so bad after all, or at least not as heartless as she had assumed.
"You don't need to, but sure," Blue replied, it was a tad bit uncharacteristic for a recluse like her to accept help, but it was not like she was not quite in the right mind, "I can carry it if you just show me the way. I'm not sure where Elyon dens up."

Lorelei wasn't an overly complicated cat. But the fact she was so straightforward was confusing to most anyone that was used to the twisting personalities of the league. Deadly but sweet when she felt like it. She really had no reason to offer help, but she also didn't know a lot about Blue. Unable to remember the last time she even saw the small black cat, she gave a smile and started leading the way. "She lives in the manor with Funk and Corax. That place is a maze, but Elyon does good work." She explained as they started the walk, "When you get tired, let me know and I'll carry them for you."
"I'm glad you seem to know your way around," Blue vividly remember when she, as a kit, had got herself hopelessly lost in the manor for a couple days; ever since, she had avoided the upper floors, although to be fair that was not the only reason, "I mean, yeah, I'm one to wander, but I can't find my way home if I can't see the sky."
Her voice was a bit muffled due to the bundle of ribs she was carrying, but the tall grass served as a great handle. Blue was good with her paws and had them wrapped tightly and secure; even if she dropped them, they likely would stay tied neatly together. She felt her jaw starting to ache already, though, but she really did not want to accept even more of Lorelei's help. Blue just ignored the pain and continued her conversation. She found the calico very easy to talk to, "I just don't like being all closed in with cats who I can't tell if they've got my back or want to, well... hang my pelt out to dry."
The looming beast of the manor was now within sight. Its windows were illuminated by the setting sun, making them appear to twist and turn like fire. It was eerily beautiful, but hellish; she had lived here nearly all her life and was still intimidated just approaching it. She looked back to Lorelei, trying to get a read on her, and winced a bit as her jaw cramped again.

Lorelei was familiar with those days. When they first moved to the manor, she tended to find herself lost until Senescence or someone else would find her after hearing little paw steps against the hard floors. Eventually, it happened so much that she would manage to find the exit, sometimes still hugging a wall but sometimes without. The second thoughts she never really had. No one here had truly intimidated her enough to make her step back. Most were intimidated by her, all tall and gangly like she was stretched out.
The two approached the manor, the setting rays of the sun lighting up Lorelei's pelt like a fire. Time sure does fly. She thought it was noon not that long ago. "Just don't get on anyone's bad side and you'll be fine. If someone starts messing with other members of the League, it's more likely they'll be kicked out or killed than the targeted members. It's like organized chaos. Heh heh, not that surprising with Funk around."
Blue was at a loss for how to reply - she was not used to this kind of advise or, to be honest, general conversation - but after a few awkward moments meowed, "Uh, thanks, I will keep that in mind. I usually lay low anyways, how do you think I've lasted this long? Most of you would eat me for lunch if I stood out too much."
Wait a second... did she just make a joke to a cannibal about eating her for lunch? Blue felt the familiar burn of embarrassment on the tip of her ears. Before the Lorelei could reply, Blue hurried herself up the stairs that led to the main entrance of the manor. She would not have admitted it, but Lorelei's attention had charmed her, just a little, and was throwing her off. Only an ally would freely offer guidance so openly. Until today, she did not think she had had many of those. Yet, Blue knew that just because someone was nice to you does not mean that they like you.

It was odd, advice wasn't something she was used to giving. She wasn't really sure why she did. Why sometimes she spouted the craziest nonsense just to get them to...look at her different. Lorelei wasn't sure, she couldn't tell. Not without sinking her teeth into it. But clanmates were off-limits for the most part, so she made do with the scrambling heartbeats and puffed fur. Things that were undeniable and easy to read.
Her expression twisted with Blue's last statement. Into something unsure, a bit amused. "Wait, did you just-" Lorelei started before Blue tore off ahead in embarrassment. Her ear flicked as she processed it, ending in a slight smile as she followed. Who would have guessed Blue was capable of that? She didn't. Blue said it so absent-mindedly that Lorelei couldn't be offended. "Hey, wait. You don't even know where you're going."
Now at the top of the stairs, Blue dropped the bundle of ribs down at her feet and dug her claws into the ruined carpet, cursing herself for being so careless with Lorelei. The action sent sharp pains up and down her shoulders and she let out a gasp of pain.
"Hey, wait. You don't even know where you're going."
Blue steadied her breathing. Lorelei was right, Blue needed her for awhile yet and she had to stop acting like a scared kit. Her exhaustion was effecting her head in a bad way and she needed to get control of herself. The other she-cat did not sound angry, so maybe she hadn't pick up on Blue's little Freudian slip. She was going to have to believe that for now; she could worry about it more tomorrow, when her life went back to its usual schedule, and it was easier to avoid the lanky cannibal.
"Ah, sorry about that, I was trying to match your pace," She said with a nervous laugh, turning to face the calico, "Lead the way."

Lorelei's paws kept bonking against the stairs, she tended to jump up them too eagerly and quickly with the coordination of a 5-year-old child that resulted in several bruises. She had caught the slip of the tongue but hadn't thought of how to react to it by the time she reached the top of the stairs. Blue was way too nervous, it almost put Lorelei off. Maybe she was just too used to the overly confident types that had flooded the place.
Though, more than anything, she couldn't decipher the strange expressions she made. Was it pained? Nervous? Embarrassed? She hadn't quite caught what happened but spotted the bundle of ribs on the ground and quickly snapped them. Maybe that would help? She wasn't sure.
" 'Course, she's right this way." Her tone was still warm despite being muffled against the tangles that held the ribs together. She took the stairs a little slower again, "And you don't have to do that."
Lorelei was acting surprisingly consistent, but Blue still had no idea what she was thinking. There's many reasons why she avoided cats that she could not read, but right now what she was struggling with the most was her own mind. She was put on edge, more heightened than normal actually, knowing she would not stand a chance if things turned sour. Not that she expected them to. Blue shook her head. No more of this.
"Thank you, I appreciate it..." Blue meowed when Lorelei picked up her labor, once again struck by her kindness. She pushed herself to keep up with Lorelei's natural stride despite her pain and noted it was just a bit slower. The black she-cat misread that as an act of patience and choked down the lump in her throat, internally laughing at herself. She needed to resolve this, more for herself than for Lorelei, if she ever wanted to actually be friends with her, "Sorry about earlier, I'm so used to talking to myself that sometimes I forget how to talk with others."
She paused, then quickly switched subjects, as she did not really want to give Lorelei a chance to respond, "... Anyway, what does Elyon do with these?"

Really, it was surprising. But nothing was really going against what Lorelei knew what to handle. The complex feelings Blue had for her went over her head but the simple act of just taking it easy with her was... well, easy enough. When she apologized, Lorelei simply nodded. She was used to working with other's, so she actually didn't talk out loud much even though it fit her. Learning to keep her thoughts to herself was hard, though maybe now they were too much to herself.
Lorelei couldn't much respond anyway, and figured it wasn't worth staying on anyway. At Blue's next question, she shrugged. "I think she decorates with them." is what she said though it came out a garbled mess. Like "Lie schink shwe dekorakes wit hem.". Lorelei would have considered delivering some to her mom, but she tended to prefer things she actually took down herself. Least that's what Lorelei thought.
(I took a few liberties with the decor so if that’s inaccurate just lmk and ignore the last few sentences about it, I’ll edit them out)
Blue angled her ears angling toward the larger she-cat's mouth, straining to hear what she was saying now that her mouth was full. She was pretty sure she heard the word "decorate," so the rest was easy to guess. Blue surprised herself a little by easily accepting the idea of using the bone for decoration, but it was not what she was expecting, "Strange, I would have guessed something more nefarious than that, like sharpening the points to use as some kind of weapon, or some kind of voodoo."
Blue couldn't remember the last time she had been so deep in this part of the manor. She wished she had paid more attention up until now, but between her stress and conversation, she had quickly lost her sense of direction. Each hallway looked and smelled the same. The only difference seemed to be the dark stains and, now that she thought about it, strange decorations. A skull with dark feathers around it. A jar full of teeth... probably. A large bone with engravings. It was unnerving but not repulsive.

(ooh i like it. you did a good job <3)
She didn't bat an eye at the odd decor. She had seen worse, done worse with rearranging the various bones and body parts in her mother's den. Even her own, mostly filled with pelts and lizard tails, conditioned her to look at this. While the calico liked Elyon, she wouldn't have put it past her to make weapons out of the ribs. The package stifled a laugh from her.
Her jaw began to hurt, how Blue managed to do this was somewhat of a mystery. The trinkets only got more and more abundant as the pair walked. A few bones appeared to still be stained with blood. The smell wasn't great, but it was more contained than it was in other places of the manor. Even though it wasn't sundown yet, it was fairly dark as they approached the door. Lorelei pressed her shoulder against it and walked in, chirping a greeting that only she could understand.
Blue hesitated for a moment before she followed Lorelei into a room. She never opened doors in the manor: She did not want to know what happened behind them, that was an Internal Affair problem. As she crossed the entryway, she was greeted with a faint smell of rot that was overpowered with something... sweet? It was complicated and she could not pin it down, but at least is was not as bad as the hallways. The den itself looked much like the hallway but amplified. It was a little unnerving but even Blue could acknowledge that it was oddly beautiful. Feathers, skulls, miscellaneous bones, all in intricate designs, it must have taken long hours and dedication.
"Elyon?" She called out just as sun lined up with the room's window, blinding her momentarily when a shaft of the concentrated light hit her eyes.
Lorelei didn't bother to look around, instead getting a chance to rest her jaw by setting down the ribs. "Hey El, you in here?" She casually poked around the assassin's den, probably touching some things too much in her hunt for Elyon. "She may be out with the Nemesis, but who knows."
"I don't think she's here," Blue replied after waiting for the Elyon's reply. The light that had blinded her initially continued to shift with the setting sun, relieving her eyes yet making the room seem all the more sinister. It was not anything that she wasn't accustomed to seeing, but she was eager to leave regardless,"I guess this is where we part ways. Thank you for your help today."
The black she-cat wet to make a quick escape, then paused, realizing that she had not paid much attention to pathway in and would probably get lost. She hesitated, looking back to Lorelei, but didn't say anything.

"I guess so." Lorelei didn't specify what statement she said that towards. Placing the package in the center of the room, she joined Blue at the entrance. "You got other things to do, right? So take care." She was too quick, going too fast through the conversation as she continued back down the hall from where they came.
(this was my first roleplay thread on this site, kind hate to see it end but it's time lol)
"Well, yes..." ... like wash all of this filth off. Blue finished the sentence in her head and hurried after Lorelei, who seemed to be going at a quicker pace than they had earlier. Blue managed to keep up and this time paid more attention to the exit route, trying to commit it to memory, seeing as next time she probably would not be so lucky as to have a guide. The entrance came into sight just as night fell. She turned back to thank Lorelei once again, but saw the other she-cat had already disappeared back into the manor, another ghost in the haunted house. The black she-cat let out a deep breath and headed back to her den for the evening. What a day.
