Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bee’s brow drew together in slight confusion, baffled as to why this group would have Leaf Blowers. She opened her mouth to respond, then closed it, then turned to look at Thistlemask to find him purposefully avoiding her eyes.
Heat prickled her skin, a flaming wash of embarrassment seizing her. “You’re poking fun at me!” She accused, though only half-heartedly, because she knew that she had earned it. She glared at the emerald grass at her feet with a gaze so intent that it was nearly able to light the blades on fire.
It couldn't be helped!" Thistlemask wheezed as he had already been silently laughing at Bee's realization. He turned his head to see Bee, her eyes glaring daggers at the ground.
" I know all of this might be overwhelming at first. Please don't hesitate to ask me any question or clarification for anything." His voice calmed as the giddy excitement died down in the seriousness of his words. " I will be around." He added quickly, maybe a little too quickly. Thistlemask caught his eagerness and quickly interjected " Of course I wasn't lying about the kits. There are something out of this world. Seriously, beware."
“Got it,” Bee responded, the lesson seared into her brain. “Ask you if I have any questions instead of acting like a know-it-all.” Her fur still warm, she looked up as they approached camp, suddenly nervous. Sure, Thistlemask was nice, but what if these other cats weren’t?
She had never known another group before, never been part of something larger or nobler than a ragtag group of loners led by a narcissistic tom. She had run away and impulsively joined the first group she’d found. Insecurity welled up in her chest, but she found that looking at Thistlemask made her feel just a little more sure of her decision. “So when we get there I talk to who?”
histlemask could feel the change of emotions in the air as the two neared camp. He turned to watch the ginger she-cat, noticing the smallest weight of discomfort forming on the rather small cat's body. He offered a small and reassuring smile "Blackstar, she is our leader." He spoke calmly, turning back to look ahead as his mind began to scramble back to work mode. He knew Blackstar wouldn't be happy. With cats coming left and right thanks to the flood that rampaged the Survival Clans, the other clans have been working over time to take on survivals and give them sanctuary. Springclan was no different. With yet another mouth to feed, he knew the hot headed leader would probably give him an earful for bringing a loner into camp, but he knew he would sway her in the right direction, but with work. Lots and lots of work and patience.
"I will take you to her, don't worry. I won't leave you to fend to the wolves by yourself." He added, straightening up as he neared the camp. He knew the sight and smells of a new cat would catch the eyes and concerns of his clan mates. Thistlemask knew his body language had to communicate to his clan that all was well do avoid as much turmoil as possible.
The two turned one of the trees to find thick walls of bushes tangled in thorns and berries. "We are here." Thistlemask mumbled deeply as his paws touched the cool surface of a stone path, leading them through a small opening in the bushes. "A word of warning." Thistlemask spoke up, stopping in his track and turning to Bee fully. " Don't try to look threatening or too serious. You are entering the home of many cats. The first impression you want to make shouldn't have to cause concern to the cats." He reminded thoughtfully, Though his words came out kind and calm, his expression was serious.
OOC Notes: Should we wrap it up with your response?
Bee nodded, letting her feet move on autopilot as she followed Thistlemask. She kept her head up as cats turned to look at her, trying her best to keep a neutral expression on her features. Bee didn’t have too much experience making new friends, but she was willing to try to make a good impression now.
As they wound their way to Blackstar, Bee felt her nerves thrilling around her, ready to start the next stage of her life. Her anxiety was calmed by the knowledge that despite how nervous she was now, this would be her new home.
