Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The flood in the Survival Clans didn't leave their neighbors untouched -- instead, it deposited a few bothersome rogues right into their tunnels. They'd been lucky enough to find one of the cats and dig him out of the rubble before he died, so he was rotting in The Garden until he was healed. The new Commander had seriously considered keeping him as a prisoner, but it was honestly a waste of resources, so he changed his mind. Better to save prey for themselves; the damage to the surface hadn't been extensive, but it would had spooked their prey population. That is, the prey that wasn't swept downstream.
The blue tom slipped into The Garden and reclined against the wall, casting a lazy glance over the crowd of cats mingling about. He hadn't seen his Chaman in Headquarters, so he'd come here instead. He wanted an update on the rogue's condition, and another look at Meepo: he hadn't paid much attention to the tiny tom before, frankly he thought he was just a cadet that hadn't finished growing yet, but now that he knew better it wouldn't hurt to get a second look at him.

Meepo worked diligently to fix up those who had been injured by the flood and tumbling rocks. He fought to hide the frown on his face as he listened to Cadet Liam's breathing. The sickly guider cadet was already a regular patient, but he had breathed in some of the dust and water, which made his condition worse. The Chaman rested his chin on the young tom's head and prayed to the Blind Protector before placing more herbs down. He would have to take them later when he woke up.
The little tom let out a yawn and peered around the Garden. His big brown eyes caught a glimpse of the new Commander and he tilted his head. He had been meaning to visit Headquarters and update him on their new friend, but he had been so busy... Well, now would be a good time!
Wearing a cheery expression and a little skip in his step, Meepo weaved through the garden effortlessly and made his way to Commander Raijin. "Good morning, Commander. What brings you to the Garden?" He purred with a dip of his head, even though he knew the answer.
A lazy, positively delighted grin spread across his features as the Commander lowered his muzzle to nudge him gently in greeting. "Chaman Meepo, just the cat I was hoping to see," he purred, pulling back and glancing over him. It was a quick but precise look -- subtle, not wasting time, but evaluative. He did not glance down again, but met the smaller cat's gaze with his intense blues and held it as his head tipped to the side. "Isn't visiting you enough of a reason? I just care for your company," he assured him, toying with a smirk as he leaned back, a long, regretful sigh escaping his chest. Raijin was prone to dramatics, perhaps, but it was part of his charm.
"Very well, if it's all business with you, I wouldn't mind an update on our new friend. He had a nasty bump on the head last I saw him, did that go away yet?"

A series of giggles escaped the Chaman's muzzle and he shook his head. "Of course it's enough reason, but I know no one would want to visit silly ol' me just for a chat. You'll be here for moons listening to me babble on about tansy petals and philosophies of life." He responded sweetly with a lil wink at the end. Meepo was also a charming cat, but in a playful sort of way. He was almost kit-like in his personality, yet lacked that touch of innocence and the kitten-fur, of course. He was impulsive, yet always giddy and kind, and in any second a profound, enlightening statement could come tumbling out of his mouth.
At the Commander's question, Meepo took a small glance back at the tom in question and sighed. "Yeah, it seems he's doing better, but he still hasn't spoken much. The injury is starting to heal, thank the blind protector, but I can't do much about emotional wounds." The Chaman wasn't sure what to think of the rogue yet, but he was always the type to worry for each cat, no matter their past.
"Maybe we'll have to change that," he mused, suppressing a little laugh as Meepo went on. He found it difficult to believe the tiny tom had any complicated philosophies of life, not that Raijin did, either. He was a drifter and he did what he liked, within reason, and this position was entirely unexpected to him. He wasn't sure what his plan was now that he was here, but he'd rule the best he could before he had to move on. Maybe he'd invite his brothers to join him, though they weren't quite the savory type the Regime preferred. They were worse off than he was.
"He can heal his emotional wounds on his own time, back in his home," he responded dismissively. "I just want him fit to travel to get out of here. Let's take a look at him; where is he?" Raijin pushed off the wall and headed deeper into the post, brushing against Meepo as he passed and started to look around behind him.

“Aw, but what if he wanted to stay? What if doesn’t have a home?” Meepo whined as he followed after the tom. He couldn’t imagine not having a family of cats to call your home. It must be a really lonely one... “Oh, he’s this way, sorry.” He meowed, veering slightly to the left then walking straight towards a clump of ferns. “He might be sleeping again. You gonna wake me up?”
"Well, he was staying somewhere before he washed up here, wasn't he? He can go back there, or build a new nest." Raijin shrugged. "With all this debris it won't be hard to find a comfortable corner to crawl up in." He altered his course to follow Meepo toward the newcomer. "We could wake him, see if he's feeling good enough to leave, I don't have any problem with that. What do you think? You're the healer."

Meepo frowned at the thought of this poor tom's destroyed home, but he didn't disagree. Even though he felt bad for the rogue, the Regime had seen enough grief the past few moons. "Alright, alright. Just don't rile him up too much." The small tom answered with a little wink at the Commander. He gently prodded the sleeping newcomer with one slender brown paw. "Helloooooo, wake upppp. How ya feelinggg?"
Their loud voices had begun to rouse him as they approached, and when the Chaman nudged him, he came suddenly to life. He surged upward and caught the offending paw in his jaws, then held it between his teeth, not quite biting down but threatening. His powerful brows narrowed over a harshly glittering icy gaze, taking in the tiny, defenseless tom and the commander at his side. He recognized the small one, he'd been helping tend to him, and slowly he released his paw. The large tabby pushed himself into a sitting position, jaw locked against the spinning in his head at the motion, and glared between the pair.
"Look like you riled him up," Raijin murmured with a wicked grin. "Hey there, good morning. I'm Commander Raijin, and this is Chaman Meepo. Do you have a name?"
His lips drew back with a warning rumble as the rogue warred with himself. Normally he would not give an inch, but he was in a vulnerable position now, and he knew it. Reluctantly playing along, he tilted his head and ground out, "Vigilante."

"Hey, hey, hey! Watch the teeth, mister!" Meepo exclaimed, jumping back a little and shaking his bit paw. "I might have riled him up a little." He responded to the Commander with a giggle. "Vigilante huh? What a mysterious name! How cool!" His former shock and agitation was clearly gone as he examined the strange rogue. "How ya feelin, buddy? I noticed you look a lil dizzy so your head must be bothering you still."
Vigilante fixed the younger cat with a disdainful stare, irritated by his excitement and even more by his perceptiveness. "I'm fine." His response was automatic, the same he'd given the last few times he'd woken up as well, though it had yet to be the truth. His head ached at the base of his skull, the world swam and his balance was off, and he had taken quite a bruising from his fall. Nothing he couldn't handle on his own, in his opinion, but the healers seemed reluctant to let him go free yet.
He dragged his gaze to the Commander and narrowed it slightly. He didn't like cats who thought they had authority, especially skinny bones like this one. Ones that grinned like this - like Raijin had found a most delicious prize and was keeping it to himself. There was no way they knew each other, not that the rogue was significant enough to remember anyway, but he misliked that look.
"Hear that? He's fine. Time to return him to the wilderness," the blue tom chirped.

Meepo's fur spiked up in alarm and he quickly glanced over at Raijin with large, rounded eyes. "No, no, no! We can't release him yet!" He whined, poking out a paw to steady the large rogue. "Look at 'em. He can't even stand on his own four paws. Pretty please, can we keep him? Pleeeeeaaaaassseee? Just for a little while! I'll make sure he becomes strong and healthy and then we can let him go." He batted his eyes a few times at the commander, hoping to sway him.
The rogue snarled as he lumbered fully to his paws, glaring down at the steadying paw like he was tempted to bite it off, and resisted only because he did need the additional support. "I'll take my chances out there."
The Commander looked at the tiny healer and shook his head slightly. He was definitely going to get clawed to pieces trying to help this patient, but who was he to judge? Even if Meepo lacked the sense to give this one up, he could admire his dedication to seeing it through. "Fine, you can keep him," he relented with a sigh, "but if he causes trouble it's your head. And as soon as he's ready to go, he's gone, I don't want to keep wasting prey."

Meepo's ears perked up excitedly and his tail wiggled slightly as the Commander gave in. "Yay! I promise you won't regret this." He purred with a lil wink before casting a sideways glance at Vigilante. "You and I are going to become best buds. It'll be so much fun!" His voice was kit-like and hopeful, but Meepo knew the chances he was taking. His heart couldn't handle the thought of leaving an injured cat out on their own. He was also curious to hear more about where the stalwart tom came from, and how many there were...
"Oh, I'm sure I will." Raijin smiled slightly, his heart stirring to see the tom so happy. He was quickly growing fond of the little cat; at least he had someone capable working with him that wasn't Shule. That alone was enough to make him appreciate the Chaman. "If he tries to kill you give the Mercenaries a shout. They like you well enough, I expect they'll come."
Vigilante could not look more thrilled to learn he had a new friend.

"Aw, I'm liked?" Meepo let out a happy little purr then gave a nod. "I understand. Well, Vigilante, would you like to go on a walk? You should get your muscles moving after being nest-ridden for so long. Wouldn't want to turn into an earth worm, ya know? All limp and stuff."
A low growl rumbled in the tabby's jaws, but he couldn't argue. He wanted to leave, and if it had to be with an escort, so be it. "Fine," he muttered with a reluctant sigh, pushing himself to his paws. He swayed, and grit his teeth against a wave of nausea, but found his balance. Rajin watched him carefully, but he ignored the Commander, staring hard at the healer. "Lead the way."

Meepo reached out a paw to steady him then gave a mischievous glance at Rajin. "Hmmm where should we take em, Commander?" He purred with a playful gleam in his cocoa eyes. Truthfully, he had no idea where to start so he figured making a game of it would be entertaining.
Raijin considered seriously, and a loose grin soon played across his lips. "Might as well give him out best, hmm? Take him to see some of our beautiful crystals," he suggested. "The Crystal Cavern, perhaps.... or better yet, lose him in the Outlands."

"Ooooh the Outlands?" Meepo echoed with a spark of interest in his eyes. The daft furball hardly acknowledged the danger in such a journey. In fact, he was beginning to look a bit excited. "That might be fun!" He purred with a happy glance at Vigilante.
