Turbulent sighed, as he finished up treating the worst of her wounds "I'm confining you to camp until this heals. Come back in a few days and let me check it and to change the cobwebs, and don't even think about trying to sneak out until I clear you" it was clear by the glint in his eyes that he was holding back since there was a kit in the den, but that he meant what he had said "Keep as still as possible, rest, and hopefully you will be back on your feet soon enough"
Frozenfire scoffed, "You are a menace, get back to the nursery," She scolded the kit. Knowing Turbulentsea had to curb himself to avoid upsetting sensitive kittens. "You can't be wandering around everywhere."
"Now now Frozenfire, he was very nice to bring Flamingsoul a mouse," Bleakwind chided.
"He did it to provide an excuse to keep making a nuisance of himself!" Frozenfire huffed.
"Like you are right now? I pity your litter if this is how you handle a kit being where you don't want them to be." Bleakwind noted. "Come on Flamingsoul, I'll help you get settled in the warriors den." He told her, offering her his shoulder again.
Frozenfire scoffed and turned away. "Fine, then the kit can be your problem, don't complain to me when he bothers you lot." She said and then stormed away.
She glared at Turbulentsea but she couldnt protest. As much as she wanted to be able to leave whenever she wanted to, she knew it would be painful to do much moving. At least he wasn't making her stay in the medicine den. "Fine." She agreed bitterly. "Thanks." She added in a mumble. Her ears swiveled toward the bickering cats before turning to see Frozenfire storm out of the den without the kit. She was about to say something when Bleakwind offered his shoulder. "I can do it myself!" She hissed, rising to her paws shakily. "I got here on my own, didnt I?" She flicked her tail before limping her way out of the nursery. How dare Bleakwind think she was so weak that she needed help. She can get along just fine. She made her way to the warrior's den for rest. She had been coming and going in Nightclan for some time, now, since she made the alliance with Burningstar so she knew where everything was in the camp...except some of the stalagmites growing from the ground. She tripped over one she hadn't noticed was there and fell on her chin. "Mouse-dung" she hissed under her breath, rising to her paws, slowly.
Bleakwind shook his head, for all his memories of his father, the only cat from the league he knew, the tom hadn't been this prickly... But StarClan only knew when he'd left the league. Perhaps this was a trait of all league cats when they left. Or it was just Flamingsoul. He followed after her and noticed when she fell. "Are you sure you wouldn't like some assistance? Better you keep your focus on recovering rather than pointlessly making a show of how hardheaded you are."
She rose to her paws and shook out her fur. "Why do you care?" She challenged, narrowing her eyes. She had to admit, he was charming in a stubborn kind of way.
"Because you are my clanmate," Bleakwind said simply. "And you were injured in deciding to make that permanent." He added. "NightClan cares for it's own, and our ancestors watch over all of us in the skies above."
She snorted, "yeah, well, the league looks out for themselves. I may be your clanmate now but I spent a long time looking out for me. Accepting any help would be weak."
"This isn't the league, or whatever you lived in before, this is NightClan, we work together," Bleakwind said. "We are stronger together than as one. While I've heard of the fearsome league, it's their numbers that made them so feared. A single cat might garner respect and wariness, but an army of mighty cats? That's the real threat, the one that garners whispers and tactics to avoid incurring the wrath of a collective rather than a single one."
Flamingsoul listened and nodded. He was right. A group of cats working together was much more powerful than one single cat. "I guess so...but I am keeping my eye on you" she mewed, staring at him with cold eyes. "We may be a clan but there have been traitors before."
"True, but we share similar ancestors. They are watching, I leave the judgement of traitors to them." Bleakwind said flicking his tail. "My faith provides me with the security that I know those who hold darkness in their hearts won't rest easy in life or in the beyond. Guilt has a way of eating at the soul."
Bleakwind shook his head. "Not at all," He said. "I just was sharing how my faith helps me deal with those concerns. Does the League not have ancestors or entities they believe in?" He asked tilting his head.
She relaxed, "some do, I suppose but...well, we rely on Instinct mostly. Hence the name." She began heading toward the warrior's den. "I don't really believe in such things. How could a bunch of dead cats possibly guide us?"
Bleakwind chuckled. "Oh they are everywhere, you just have to stop and listen." He said straightening up. "They're always watching. And though they're willing to let us live and live by our instincts, they're there for us, and with us. Always watching, always there in our darkest hours. And that's very comforting. And sometimes they guide us from disaster, but other times they just support us with their presence."
She sighed, "Starclan abandoned me a long time ago." She ducked into the warrior's den and settled down into a nest made for her. She winced as she lowered herself down.
"StarClan never abandons you," Bleakwind said softly following after her. "Often what happens is your connection to them gets interrupted, or they can't reach you. But when you come back to them, they welcome you. They're always watching Flamingsoul. They watch us all. I know it."
