Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Dovewish slipped out of camp and headed for the cherry blossom trees. Her medium length silver fur danced in the breeze, her blue eyes sparkling in the sunlight. It had been a few moons since Springclan had returned from the destruction of the rogues and Dovewish was grateful to have her clan back. She remembered following her father, Cardinalheart, to unknown territory to escape the rogues. Winterclan had given them shelter until they were strong enough to reclaim Springclan. However, such peace came at a great cost. She had watched many die in the battles against the rogues and she had never seen such destruction, such betrayal. Now, it seemed like none of that ever happened. It was peaceful and calm, now.
Her soft paws touched the cool, stone path that twisted between the cherry blossom trees. A breeze rattled the branches and rained flower petals down into her fur and on the path. Such beauty, it was breath taking. She breathed in the sweet scent of the flowers. She figured she may as well enjoy the warmth while it was here. Leafbare was right around the corner.
"Its nice, isnt it?" Viperstream asked as he padded toward the she-cat. Days like this warranted him to go take walks and enjoy the scenery. Fortunately, he seemed to not be alone.
She jumped slightly at the sudden voice and spun around to see that her clanmate had approached her. "Oh, Viperstream! You startled me!" She breathed a sigh of relief. "Yes, it is nice! What are you doing out here, anyway?"
He gave her a friendly smile. "I'm usually out at this time, especially when the weather is like this," he said as he looked around. "It helps me clear my mind, ya'know?"
She chuckled, "I know what you mean! I do it sometimes, too. Oh! Here," she pushed Viperstream under one of the trees. "Watch this!" She climbed the blossom tree that she placed him under and balanced out onto one of the branches. Then she started slightly bouncing, shaking all the flower blossoms loose and they rained down on Viperstream like purple snow.
Viperstream squinted his eyes as to not get petals in them and gave a light chuckle "Hey, what's that for?" he called out with a smile. "I do have to admit though, these flowers are beautiful...much like yourself."
She was surprised by his response and felt warm under her fur. "Uhhh...well, thank you" she couldnt help the purr rising in her throat. She stopped shaking the branch and flipped upside down on the branch, using her claws to cling on. "So, Viperstream, how is your hunting?"
He gave a slight shrug and positioned himself to look at her. "Most days were bountiful, others...not so much. But mostly, my hints were good. What about yourself?" he asked in return. He sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws, eyes glittering from the sunlight.
She rolled her eyes with a grin. "Oh alright. Let's try Flower Meadow. There ought to be some rabbits out there." She padded away, her tail held high. It wasn't long before they came to the wide open space. The meadow was dotted in colorful flowers and prey scents filled the air along with the sweet aroma of the flowers. Immediately, she spotted a rabbit hopping along the small trails made my small critters like itself. The silver she-cat lowered herself into a hunter crouch. Her blue eyes locked on her prey. She crept forward slowly, careful not to disturb anything that may cause her to lose her catch. Soon, she was close enough to pounce. As fast as lightening, she rushed forward with outstretched paws. The rabbit shot up and turned to run but Dovewish was quicker. She pinned the rabbit down with her paws and nipped its neck, killing it quickly. She stood up, the limp rabbit in her jaws.
Viperstream watched on in amazement. "Nicely executed," he complemented before he went forward, scenting the air for anymore prey. The scent of a bird caught his attention and he turned his body to face its direction. In a nearby tree, on a low hanging branch, there sat a finch oblivious to its impending doom. Inching forward, the tom crept closer into striking range. Rocking back and forth, he prepped his legs for launch. With energy built up, he leapt up and caught the prey by surprise. Hooking it with claws lodged in its body, he dragged it down to earth with his fall and swiftly killed it.
"Great catch!" She purred, curling her feathery tail. "Let's bury our catches and we can come back and collect them later." She scraped dirt over her rabbit, feeling proud of her catch. Rabbits weren't always easy and she had done it single pawed.
He nodded and bounded behind her. The lights brightness slightly changed and that caught the tom's attention. Looking to the sky, he saw it getting darker. That's odd...is it going to rain?
They arrived at the nearest river shortly. Dovewish peered into the river, the water slightly flooding. It must have been from the previous storm. She frowned at the swelling waters, "I'm not sure if we can fish in waters this flooded."
He took a look for himself and nodded. "Yeah...it might not be a good idea this time around." He looked back up toward the sky, more dark clouds floating in and tasted the air. "It might be best if we find shelter. It would appear theres another storm coming," he suggested.
