Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"How many storms are there going to be?" She huffed, disappointed. She looked at the darkening sky, "there's no time to make it back to camp before a downpour. But we should probably find shelter away from the river. We dont know how much its going to flood." She tried to think of a nearby shelter that wouldnt get flooded. Then she remembered finding a cave one time that was among a cliff. If it did flood, the cave wouldn't. "Theres cave not too far from here. It's closer than the camp. Do you want to try and take shelter there or try to make it to camp?"
"It might be best it we to the cave, rather than risk being caught in a storm," he replied. "Do you know which way to go?" A slight pour of rain didnt bother him much, but he'd rather not get drenched. Not too far off, he could hear the faint impact of rain hitting the trees. Its close.
She nodded, "yes, it's this way." She bounded away in the direction of the cave. She could feel the storm coming, the atmosphere was changing, feeling electrical. She felt a drop on her nose. "We need to hurry" she mewed, quickening her pace to a sprint. Suddenly, the clouds broke loose and pouring rain pelted down. Dovewish could hardly see what was in front of her but she knew where she was going. Then, the ground tilted upward. "Come on! The cave is up here!" She called over the screen of rain. A clap of lightning lit up the sky, revealing a gaping cave just above them. Dovewing began climbing the steep hill but the Mud made it difficult. She slipped and all four legs flew out from under her and she landed in the Mud, sliding down the hill a little bit before catching her grip. She stood up and mud caked her fur. "Yuck! This is going to take ages to clean out!" She hissed in annoyance and she climbed the hill, making sure she had sterdy pawholds. After what seemed like moons, they finally reached the cave. Dovewish slipped into the gaping mouth of the cave and shook out her fur, clear of the rain. "Ah, that's better" she sighed, finally being somewhere dry.
Viperstream sighed a sigh of relief being out of the rain and found a place to lie down. The rain outside was in a torrential downpour now. "Good thing we got here when we did," he commented, "Its getting nasty out there." He looked over to Dovewish. "You okay?"
He laughed a little. "But of course, I'm fine." he responded as he peered out of the cave. "That doesn't seem like it will let up anytime soon, it would seem." He rose to his paws and shook off the leftover moisture from his pelt. "Alright, so...what now?"
She shrugged, "honestly, I'm not sure. I dont know how long this storm will last." She began licking the mud from her fur, scowling at the gritty feeling of it as her tongue combed through her muddy and wet gray fur. "But first things first, I gotta get this nasty gunk out of my fur."
He shrugged and found a spot in the middle of the cave. "Well I guess were play the waiting game then." Oddly enough, he caught himself watching Dovewish cleanse herself. Shaking his head he tried to distract himself but with no luck there.
"I guess so." She frowned, staring out the cave at the storm. "You dont think Starclan is angry with Springclan, do you?" She asked, looking concerned.
He shrugged. "I dont see why they would be. We've had nothing but bountiful prey and harvest. I'm not sure what may bring this on," he responded. "But it could be a sign, possibly."
He shook his head. "Honestly, I don't know. It could be anything. A flood is coming, impending drought?" Admittedly, he didn't much believe in omen, but rather if something happened it happened because it just occured that way. "What do you think it may be?" he asked looking at her.
She shrugged, "honestly, I'm not so sure. But this is kind of an extreme storm. They are either very angry or something bad is going to happen." She then began washing herself again but then she began to shiver. The cave was cold and with the rain, the temperature was lower.
Dovewish had dosed off when the storm finally passed, parting to reveal a setting sun. The gray warrior opened her pretty blue eyes just as the sun touched her face, giving it a golden glow. She looked stunning despite how messy her fur was. She rose to her paws and stretched, arching her back before padding to the mouth of the cave and looking out. Debris littered the ground and a few puddles of water laid sparkling here and there. "I think we can head back to camp, now." Dovewish suggested, still looking out into the broken forest.
He opened his eyes and yawned, raising his head. "You think so?" he asked. "You remember how hard it was to get here? With all this standing water, I'm sure it will be more dangerous now to leave. We might do better waiting a bit longer" he suggested
