Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Simple brings up a very good point. Thank you, my sharpie. In the past, Classic has hosted clan creation contests that have resulted in such groups as PI and RR. However, as stated, because we’re on a platform that isn’t as familiar to many as it may be to some, I propose an idea.
A thread with a format where users can fill out information for their clan idea without depending upon a visual. You give the Clan name, where it came from, how it started, who was its founder, what is the culture, what is the territory, any traditions or ceremonies it may have, what the positions are, opportunities for growth in the future and expectations for characters, such as physiognomy or behavior.
That way it’s fair for everyone and it’s far more organized than random pages and threads everywhere.
Then, should the clans be voted upon, you can figure out the details of a layout and such afterward. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how pretty something is, but the quality of it and its path in this world. Don’t judge a book by its cover, so to speak. If there aren’t any covers in the most crucial part of it all — the voting — then it makes things far more fair and open.
I think first we should decide on a general theme for the website / clans / groups. Just so in a contest it wouldn’t get too disjointed. Not suggesting this, but say we make the theme Gems, so the clans suggested are Sapphireclan, Diamondclan, etc, and we don’t have clans that are lacking a common theme.
Then we can go one of two ways. Nominations for either leaders only, or teams that we think would be a good leader / deputy pair. To avoid too much bias the person nominating the other would have to give solid evidence on WHY they’d be a good choice. Maybe they’re a leader who already has a good track record, or maybe they’re active and have a lot of good ideas. Then we could either hold a vote or as a site we can shrink the nomination number and then vote.
Or we have a contest of sorts, where people suggest a backstory for one of the clans the site decided to make, and also specify why they're qualified to lead. Then we as a site pick leaders from applications.
There’s really a lot of ways we can go with this process. The site as a whole can give backstory suggestions and names, or they can pick the leaders who would do so for the already named clans.
Perhaps we should make it a rule that the new clans can't be massively overhauled for a certain period of time? I know it might not go over well with some but it would keep things from being changed all that much from the clans that the site as a whole voted on? That might be a bit extreme though.

I really like Sinful's idea! Personally, I don't really think we should have a general theme though. It limits the creativity, I feel. Although, yes, it will feel like the clans aren't very united, but isn't that the truth anyway? These would be the survivors of our current clans, and I kind of like the idea of them all being unique in their own ways, you know? Also, fadedecho, I don't really think it needs to be a written rule per se, but at least just heavily implied.

I love all the ideas that have been brought up, honestly. Though Spider does have a point; the Admins have been silent this far ( besides Jetclaw ) and in my opinion its unfair to the users civilly discussing everything.

also, please remember that many of the admins are not against you c: they are people just like us (plus if the majority of users and mods want something they are a lil overpowered there)
i can say that uniq is at work, komi is asleep because she lives somewhere far away, and abberant I don't think is on

Komiharu is most likely asleep at the moment since she is in a completely different timezone than most of us but I can't speak for the others. There is a chance they just haven't had a moment to get on yet.

We made it this far, but the question is are the admins taking any of it into account?
Now that is the ultimate question. I know they’re watching. Can I confirm that they won’t wait until the momentum of this thread slows down and they take advantage of it to sweep everything we’re fighting for under the rug? No, I can’t. I can hope that they don’t. I hope that they don’t see this thread and the many users who are for change despite their past beliefs ad continue to drag their feet.
It’d be nice to see them come online, though I admit, I believe it’s going to be far longer to convince them we’re making the best choice for all of us together united and the site as a whole than not. There are some who are sticking their feet in the mud, rest assured.

I think besides the names we can let creativity run wild, especially in the groups Are they the survivors even if we restarted completely? If we’re rebooting they’d be new clans entirely, but that doesn’t mean they can’t each be unique. I think that could be fleshed out more in the creation process, whatever that ends up being
Honestly, if this doesn't work out, why don't we band together and make our own site? We can vote for who we want to have an admin position, and from there we'll work out the details. Of course, there will be some bumps in the road, but as long as we stick together we'll make it no matter what.

Since I haven't addressed clan sizes yet.. I feel like 4-5 Clans and 2-3 Groups would be idea. 6-8 total seems good to me, as 4 seems a bit low imo.
If we do a theme for clans, I'd personally want it to sorta be on biome? Like VolcanoClan, DesertClan, ArcticClan, and JungleClan. Maybe not those exact ones, but ones where each territory is definitively different, and gives room for vastly different lives and ways of doing things.
Added to what I just said, these changes are to benefit everyone, including our admins.
Also yes, I know they’re all more than likely busy or asleep. Or not paying attention. Shh, I too would like breakfast.
They aren’t bad guys. Just... Not aware that despite their beliefs there are many willing to assist and help grow the site so that it may continue to thrive.

I am in no way shape or form bashing the admins, it was only a question. We can all agree on something collectively but without them what can we do?
When they do get on I would like to see some of their thoughts on what has been discussed and hopefully find that some progress has been made in closing the rift in all of this.
