Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Across the border Silverstar at first couldn't navigate her, the wild flowers were so tall they almost blocked Glowstar completely and given all the plants surrounding her it was hard to detect her at all. Not to mention she called him over a river dividing their clans.
She gave a shy expression as she stirred her paw into the ground, "I just know that we're a bit of a clique here in the forest and you're a new leader. It must get lonely when you see other clans getting along and not have anyone for yourself. I was wondering if maybe you and I could hangout?" Glowstar asked, her emerald gaze finally meeting his.
Meeting the rivers edge, he sat down across from Glowstar. He gave her a slight shrug. "Solitude isn't too bad once you've gotten used to it," he replied with a friendly smile, "But I dont see why not." This was the perfect opportunity to get away for at least a little bit. Admittedly, he felt a little overwhelmed since taking on the role of leader and needed a break. However, he was a bit wary of the she-cat. This sudden display of friendliness was unexpected so it seemed a bit suspicious. Calling out to her, he asked, "What'd you have in mind?"
"I don't know, whatever it is MoonClan cats do," Glowstar supposed. Stepping onto the shore of the river she leapt in with a divers grace and paddled over to him in a matter of seconds. Having trained in WaterClan she didn't just know how to swim, but had an expert level of intensity from training beside some of the best swimmers in the forest. She licked her fur in the wrong direction to help warm herself up, "If you really want me to choose I'd say flower picking. I like making nature into crowns, they're never as professional as BrookClan's, but it does bring back fond memories," She purred.
The DayClan leader's proficiency in water surprised him, but he supposed that was a pleasant surprise. He still didn't know much about the other clans of the forest though. He tilted his head from side to side, considering the activity. Hmm.... "I've never been picking flowers, but theres a first for everything, right?" he mowed. His curiosity was getting to him and he wanted to ask what brought her here, but he would say that for a later time.
"The first time I went flower picking was right after my boyfriend was kidnapped by the nemesis of Primal Instinct where I arranged a pact with Commander Fjord and Tsar Kerrigan. Followed by, of course flower picking," Glowstar said, as though it were the most ordinary string of events.
She turned on her heels and proceeded towards MoonClan, "I don't know where I'm walking to, but I suppose just guide me to wherever you're most beautiful flower field is!" Glowstar said cheerfully, still walking into MoonClan territory with no idea at all where anything was at or if she was even walking in the right direction. It was almost impressive how confident she was in a land she'd never been in before.
Silverstar watched her for a moment, surprised that a total stranger would just walk into territory that wasnt their own, before hrugging it off and catching up to her. Although he knew the terrain well, he hadn't paid attention to the foliage that accompanied it. Embarrassed, he said with a sheepish smile, "About that...I'm not exactly sure where the most flowers are." In his head, he was scolding himself. First impressions are everything, Silver, and this is not a good one
"Oh, for real, bro? I mean, no need to dilly dally on that," Glowstar said rephrasing her statement to sound more elegant, "well I guess we can explore around till we find some patch of flowers?"
He nodded once. "Of course," he responded as he moved to take the lead. Their territory was expansive so it shouldnt take too long to come across a few flower patches, would it? He glanced back at the she-cat. For some odd reason, her casualness threw him off guard.
"Dandelions, weeds, cat tails," Glowstar commented as she walked past the common plant life trying to find a flower that stood out even a little. Bluebells being among her favorites, "So what was it like growing up in MoonClan?"
Another odd question. "Well, its had its ups and downs, but mostly good," he responded. "I'm sure you've heard that for some time, MoonClan was subjugated for a while. I was still young, but the memories are still vivid." He scanned around him, more flowers but not as colorful as he expected Glowstar wanted. "What's your story?" he asked turning his gaze back to her.
"Subjugated," Glowstar repeated trying to toss the word around in her mind to find hints and clues at what the word meant. Subjected meant forced to interact with something, so if sub was the subject then there was jugated... Juuugated. Nope, no clue. She considered asking him what that word meant, but now he was asking her about herself. Subjugated was probably not a good thing though.
"I'm ex assassin, proxy, and deacon the league and went rogue when I decided to try and take over DayClan for Primal Instincts keeping. But the league thought I betrayed them and y'know, screw them they killed two of my kiddos so I told them that they owed me a peaceful life, but they basically laughed in my face so I chose to side with DayClan and kept it for myself. I miss assassin life a lot, the screams of a job well done, the lethal numbness only veterans like me can get from age old wars that echo in our heads as enchanting as seashells echo the seas. I mean, I act like it was all daisies and sunshine, the league did attack us caused a ripple of problems when I chose to side with DayClan, but I basically ignored their attacks to the point that the league didn't want to fight us anymore cause it didn't feed into their sadistic egos," Glowstar laughed, with a smile so light and carefree her worries seemed the weight of gossamer, "And now my stories currently where I'm allies with NightClan and SunClan. It would be great, but Foxstar's an insane person and that's coming from a whack job like me."
The mention of Foxstar and her SunClan made him even more wary of her. If she's in dealings with that group, maybe she cant be trusted. And on top of that, she's an ex-assassin, too? He unconsciously made space between the two of them, his thoughts guiding him. "Is that right," he asked. "I havent met Foxstar personally, but I do know of her...reputation."
"Well whatever you've heard about Foxstar probably isn't true," Glowstar reassured, as she tipped over a rock as though a flower would be underneath it. She pounced onto a patch of moss raking her claws across it in the hopes of finding budding flowers underneath, but there were none, "It's much. MUCH worse. I mean, I don't know man, SunClan really doesn't like MoonClan, which is just super weird, but like whatever. Gods and all, pft, bunch of sensitive orchids," She ranted.
Silverstar was unsure of whether or not to agree with her statement or be offended. "You're right about Sunclan not liking Moon" he agreed before going silent for a while. Continuing his search for bright colors, not much caught his attention. "So...what really brings you here?" he asked skeptically. The answer he got before still didn't sit well with him.
Glowstar hummed out a short curious note, high and careless in sound, "I just wanted to see what you were like, what MoonClan was like. I enjoy meeting all new leaders in every clan. You're no different, it's just that when it comes to MoonClan leaders they spend such a short time in leadership or are so aloof that I hardly ever get to meet them. Sometimes I walk on your borders and no one comes around, I suppose that's Red Prides fault though. We did knock MoonClan down badly. Then there was also Primal Instinct that bothered you guys. So uhhh, sorry for stealing your prey that one leafbare, but I did pay you guys back after the fact with prey," Glowstar pointed out defensively before shrugging her shoulders, "But no, I really just came over cause I wanted to meet you!"
He could blink, he could look at her from all angles, but she was serious. All she wanted to do was see him, know him, there was no hint of judgment, just the fascination and endless wonder of wanting to know a person, enter their soul with an understanding that few cats were capable of giving, but Glowstar was another thing entirely. Capable of not just understanding, but always believing in a better version of every person she met. Silverstar was no different, although she followed SunClan's religions and allied with them there was a pure sense of wonder towards outside taboos such as MoonClan.
"Hmm...you're no different...what do you mean by that?" he asked curiously. He felt he should have taken offense to the statement but it didnt bother him much. He was still on the younger side so he wasnt so well versed in MoonClan history as he should have been, but he recognized the adversity MoonClan faced for whatever the reason was but now that he was leader, he wouldnt let something like that happen again. Although he was against much violence, he wouldnt hesitate to take the life of another cat. Especially Foxstar.
"Well I usually try to know every single leader and every single everyone. But MoonClan has always been off my list cause Foxstar's always like, "We don't talk to MoonClanners!" And Burningstar always went along with it and I was too hungry to come over during that time so I just went along with it. Then I stole food from you guys so I felt too guilty to visit and only recently did I pay you guys back a few moons ago. So you weren't treated like the rest originally, but now I want to change that by talking to you so I was like, "I should talk to Silverstar!" So then I swam mover and was like, "You look like you could use a buddy!" And well- here we are!" She said cheerfully.
He tilted his head from side to side considering her words. "Yeah, I guess I could use a buddy," he said with a slight chuckle. MoonClan was definitely not treated fairly in the past, but now would be a good time to change that. She seemed friendly enough toward him.
She gasped and gave him a light nudge, "I knew you needed a buddy! I just had that feeling."
Her gaze seemed to lap up everything surrounding her from the trees to the leaves on the earth. There was such a life in her eyes in this moment soaking up every bit of detail around her as though she fed off of living rather than feeling pulled down or drained by daily life. Her lively emerald gaze looked back towards Silverstar, "But do you guys seriously not have a signle flower? I guess we could find a dandelion and pretend it's a chrysanthemum," She reasoned.
He shrugged. "I guess not," he said reluctantly. For a cat who goes out often, you'd think that he would know where everything was. It was a bit surprising that was the case. "Here, follow me. I might know of a place...."
