Considering for a moment, Shadedstar continued to stare at his paws. He had his Clan, right? But wouldn't they be better off without him. It wasn't like he was going to die, anyway. He just kind of needed to forget for the night, be free of his burdens. Curse how trusting he is!
"I'll be fine, yeah? Just for tonight?" He asked, lifting his head to face Eshek. "I'll wake up fine tomorrow, right?"

“Yep. Guarantee it.” Funk smiled, warm and sharp. No one died the first time, Funk made sure of it. He was perfect, after all. And had enough experience to not suddenly overdose a leader. Turning around, he pointed his paw towards a thicket of trees, “It’s behind the greenhouse. We’ll go the back way, not that I think anyone’ll bother us.” Most were on their way back to the manor anyway, and most avoided Funk.
Still unsure, Shadedstar approached the tom, a weary curiosity buzzing beneath his pelt. “Alright. . . If you say so?” Well, he had already technically agreed to this, so there was no way he could back down. Plus, it would help him, would it? All he wanted was to forget, and here was his opportunity.

"Yeah! Come on, let's throw everything away for a night." Funk hopped back and pressed against Shadedstar's side, overly affectionate as his tail curled around Shaded's. He just as quickly stepped away and started walking into the League's territory, "We all need a break, and if two legs get to drown themselves when their heart breaks, why can't we? Not that there'll be any water, but, haha, you get the point."
Despite himself, Shadedstar didn’t move away from Eshek’s affectionate touch. He had almost half the mind to press a little closer, but he refrained. What was the harm if it was only one night? Despite his thick pelt, he felt strangely cold without the other tom against him. Following closely behind, his tail still dragging, “Yeah, I get it.” Now he was officially, officially trespassing on The Leagues territory. It made his pelt crawl with unease, but he pushed it away. Eshek said nobody would bother them, there was no need to worry.

Funk's throat bubbled with a laugh. A breeze blew away all the warmth in his coat, and he seemed to glance over to watch it go. Dying light eclipsing them, he said simply, "Great, just follow me." The League carried the scent you'd expect; old rotting wood and musty carpet, blood like iron and tensions higher than the sky. This little forest wasn't as tainted as the rest of the estate, and Funk normally found himself sleeping here rather than his plush office. That and he needed to be able to guard his gardens from ne'er do wells who didn't take him seriously. He kept a brisk pace, looking back every now and again at Shaded as they wove through the trees.
“Did you say Greenhouse?” Shadedstar asked unexpectedly, thinking back on the tom’s precious words. He didn’t address it then, but the thought had just crossed his mind. “House as in twolegs?” Not much a fan of the smell, he tried breathing through his mouth instead, but it turns out that wasn’t the best idea either, because now he could taste it. Not wanting to be rude, he figured it was best to just deal with it now.
“And you’re sure nobody will bother us?” He asked again, eyeing his surroundings. Hurrying behind Eshek, he fell into pace beside him, keeping a respectable distance.

"A greenhouse isn't like a twoleg house. It's made of glass and where twolegs grow plants, but it's been abandoned for a while until our current Shaman took over and cleaned it up. But he sleeps in the manor, so it's not likely he'll bother us." Funk was gonna roleplay Eshek, a thief stealing his own herbs which she did; while his doppelganger slept inside, something he never did. He had really written himself into an interesting situation. Suddenly not having an apprentice was extremely handy.
"Positive. And don't worry, the herbs will drown out the smell soon. Not sure if you'll like it more though." Chipper as ever, he continued. The herbs he grew made a melting pot of smell. Sweet, sour, bitter, everything in between. It really exemplified 'garden'. There were multiple close together and they tended to just punch you in the face all at once.
“That sounds interesting.” Shadedstar said quietly, letting a silence engulf them. He definitely didn’t want it to turn awkward, but he had nothing to say. “I hear you live in an old twoleg house.” He finally said, still eyeing the area around him.
“Oh, and I don’t mind the smell, really.” Letting out a nervous laugh, he tried smelling the air for any signs of herbs.

Funk didn't mind the silence, it let him ramble, "It's really cool. From what he says, the sunlight goes through the glass and helps the plants grow. Plus, it keeps bugs and the likes out. Oh... yeah we do. There's technically two. One is for the leader, deputy, medicine cat and their apprentice. I think the pathologist lives there to. Couldn't tell ya, hardly see the guy. Everyone else lives in the other. It's nice, and not as crowded as you would think. Well, no more than a camp. And you don't need to lie, it's okay. It took me a while to just block it out." Funk realized what he was doing and shrugged a little, finally stopping as they drew closer to the greenhouse, the glass shining green in the light.
Taking in the other tom’s words absently let himself be distracted from his thoughts. He listened to Eshek’s rambling, a small smile on his face, not because he was happy, no, but because he was thankful. “That sounds cool. SpringClan’s territory is very pretty, you should visit some time.” Giving a nervous laugh, somewhat afraid he had somehow offended the tom by complaining about the smell—even though it was clear he hadn’t—he followed along for awhile. A small, smudged blob of colour twirled ahead, somewhat blending in with its surroundings. Oh StarClan how he hated his vision.
“Is that it? Oh, is there anything that could make your eyesight better? Mine’s been getting worse lately and I don’t know why.” What a ridiculous question, he realized after saying it. How could he know so little about herbs? Of course there wasn’t one that could heal his eyesight, right?

"I hear it is. I'd love to see it someday. So hopefully I can take you up on your offer one day." Well, he'd seen it plenty of times, but it feels different if you're invited in rather than crashing a party. Funk really couldn't care less about the smell and what Shadedstar thought of it. He wouldn't care in a minute.
"Yeah, it depends on what you're looking for. Water from a willow tree can help blurriness, celandine helps if it's weakening, and if it's from a wound, you'll wanna use rosemary blooms. I can try and find some if you think any of those will help." Or maybe he could take a page from Elyon's book and keep one as a memento. Though that was like a third date thing, not appropriate for a first timer.
“Oh yes, you’d love it! We have so many flower fields and waterfalls, and it’s just gorgeous.” A bit happier now that he was talking about the beauty of his home—he may be a bit prideful in that manner—he lifted his tail a bit higher. “I’d certainly welcome you.” Taking in what Eshek had said about herbs, specifically the ones that could help him, his attitude turned into a sort of hopeful one. “I think it’s just blurriness, really. I’ve usually always had good vision, but it all just recently began to blur, or at least with things farther away.” He let out a little laugh at nothing in particular.
“Are proxies taught medicine in the League?” He asked curiously. Maybe the Trusted should do something like that.

"I appreciate that. Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to soon." Funk yawned. When he wasn't taking care of the garden, treating cats to their own desires and his', watching the youth take their frustrations out on weeds... He was a lot busier than he realized. Well, if there was ever some respite, maybe he'd swing by Springclan, "Water from a willow tree then... I'll see what I can do. There're only so many around here, and I'd hate to leave you on the first date. Oh and no, not normally. That's not a bad idea though. You never know when it'll be handy, and knowledge is power after all." He fell silent for a moment, briefly considering it but knowing getting those four to learn medicine would be a headache he wouldn't control so easily.
It didn't take much longer for the pair to appear behind the greenhouse, the ground behind it clipped with various sprouts peaking out of it. Light's final trickles hitting them, he smiled "Ah, here we are."
“Well, if you end up doing that, be sure to credit me.” He laughed softly, letting out a soft hum. Now able to properly see the greenhouses, he let out a small ‘oh’ if wonderment. “These look interesting! I wonder how the plants survive all cooped up...” he trailed off, eyeing the greenhouse curiously. “Well,” Shadedstar said suddenly, “no point in waiting any longer.”

"Ha ha. Of course. I'll go to the nemesis and say 'Hey! Stop screaming. I was talking to Shadedstar and we should all learn medicine.' See how that goes." He already knew, it wouldn't go well. Already he imagined teaching them, but he thought about it again and shuddered.
"I can't say for sure, but I think it's because it's so warm in there that it helps the plants grow." Well, he knew that was it, but he'd already said too much, "Go ahead and get comfortable. I'll be right back." He added, getting to the garden and starting to pluck herbs from their stems.
He wondered vaguely what the nemesis was like. Were they like what he guessed? Cruel? Cold hearted? Able to murder any and every cat that got in their way? Maybe not, he supposed. Eshek seemed nice. Maybe the League was much different than he thought.
“Oh, alright.” He sat down, wrapping his thick tail around his paws and drinking in the sight of all the herbs.

Well, they were, but they had suddenly disappeared recently and now the League wasn't sure what to do. Funk didn't really care, he was about ready to go back to exploring now that the greenhouse had been renovated. Till they insisted he get an heir, but now wasn't the time to think about it. He was bored and Shadedstar was exactly what he needed for a nice break from all this. The League wasn't different but was, in a strange way.
Either way, he quickly got to work. Most everything he needed was outside here; juniper berries, feverfew, poppy seeds, and a different sort of herb he hadn't seen before. His last experiment went great so why not do it again? It was his job as a scientist. He dipped into the greenhouse and reappeared with a mouth in his jaws, setting it in front of Shadedstar as he chewed up the herbs a bit.
He eyed the herbs curiously, taking in their strange scent, wrinkling his nose slightly. “Okay...” he said, rather unsure, “What do they do? Will they help me?” He eyed Eshek cautiously, though he knew there was no evidence to not trust him. Laying onto his belly, he waited a few moments before tentatively taking some into his mouth.

(any and all side effects you wanna do are fine by me)
"Yep. You just gotta take em, chase them down with a mouse and then sit back and let them work." Funk circled around the garden and Shadedstar, already feeling his blood pressure rise. The waiting was the worse and the best part of this whole process. Sticking a few random sprigs to try and compensate for his lack of catmint, he was about to settle down when he stood quickly, "Right, water from a willow tree, I'll be right back. I suggest just staying there, walking is gonna be kinda hard soon." He said with a light hearted chuckle, grabbing a stray leaf on the ground and disappearing.
