Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Flame hung her head, clearly struggling with her shame. She breathed a shaky sigh before her breath became rapid and tear began to form in her eyes. For the first time in moons, she looked small and alone. She curled her tail tighter around her paws, her lips quivered and a tear rolled down her cheek. She sniffles and wiped away the tear with her paw, not meeting Pinesong's gaze. She didnt want her sister to see how weak she had become.
Pinesong froze when Flame hung her head and curled tighter around herself. "Flame!" Pinesong said, moving closer to her sister. "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and I'm sorry if I did. It really hurt when you left. You were my best friend, you still are my best friend." she said pressing up against her sister.
Flame still didn't want to meet Pinesong's gaze. "Dont you see, Pinesong? I cant change...I'm in a place in my life where I cant get out without being killed...I cant return to Moonclan without my family getting hurt or slaughtered...I've made mistakes and now I have to live with the consequences...All this time I came to the border, wishing I could come back home. But I always acted mean to protect you...if Primal Instinct knew I cared about you, they would come after you and mom and the kits...They would see you as my weakness and come for you for betraying them...And yes, I will be betraying them...I'm escaping to Nightclan soon. I've come to say goodbye in case I dont make it out...I thought Primal Instinct could give me the power I craved but I was wrong. I was wrong about everything..." she cast nervous glances around the shadows, silently praying none of her league mates were listening in. "One queen tried to escape the league. I had to kill her and steal her kits before they made it out of league territory... they would surely do the same to me. Luckily, I dont have kits." She finally met Pinesong's gaze and Flame's eyes were soft, like they had been when they were kits. "Promise me you will stay away from this border from now on."
Pinesong felt desperately sad for Flame and she searched for several seconds for an answer to her problems, but realized she couldn't find one. "I worried when you left MoonClan that Primal Instinct would kill you. I'm just glad you've survived this long and I'm sorry you had to kill that Queen, I'm sure it wasn't easy." she added. "Will you eventually come home? You know after you've escaped to NightClan?" she asked, hopeful.
She opened her mouth to speak but then quickly closed it. The truth was, there was no telling how long Primal Instinct would persue her. "I-Im not sure" she mowed at last. "I guess it depends on whether the league follows me or let's me walk. If I'm in Nightclan long enough and they haven't followed me, I will consider returning." She answered, her heart longing to follow Pinesong back to Moonclan. "That is if Silverstar welcomes me...I sort of... held a Moonclan apprentice captive..." She admitted in a rushed voice, avoiding Pinesongs gaze again and pursing her lips.
Pinesong sighed and shook her head. "Yeah... I know. I heard about it." she said quietly, but in a non judgmental way, she sounded more...defeated. "Everyone makes mistakes and Silverstar is a reasonable cat. I'm sure you could convince him to give you a second chance." Pinesong responded. "But I don't want to dwell on sad things right now, I want to hunt with you again, even if only for a little while?" Pinesong prompted hopefully. She missed the days of hunting by her sister's side and she hoped one day she would be able to do so again, with her kits as well, and their younger siblings.
"Of course! We could hunt now, if you'd like? After capturing a Moonclan apprentice, I made a deal with Silverstar. An apprentice in exchange for the right to walk on Moonclan territory. He agreed." Flamingsoul explained. "We can hunt one last time before I make my escape. I'll even let you take the prey back to Moonclan with you."
