Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(This is after the ceremonies and Seastar's lives ceremony)
CENTER OF CAMP Amberpaw had not been a happy camper at the ceremonies. Not because of who his mentor was, no, because he was promoted at all. He didn't want to become an apprentice. Seablossom hadn't given him a choice, nor was he given one. The tom couldn't stay a kit forever as much as he'd like too. To top it off, Ivorycrown hadn't been seen in a few days. He was worried but he was more worried about his first training session tomorrow.
NURSERY Deerpaw, heavily pregnant, lounged outside of the nursery entrance. Her eyes watched her younger siblings play, keeping an eye on them as their mother was out enjoying herself for the afternoon. It was unsettling feeling and seeing all the judgmental eyes on her. She was an apprentice, pregnant and her lover wasn't even of this clan. Her life was on hold, all because of a mistake she'd made. It was both shameful and the best thing that happened to her. the sand brown tabby had always been a wild spirit and while that may not change, she at least had a better understanding of how life worked and that things were not always simple and that they had consequences, some greater than others. She'd lost her mentor until after her kits were old enough for her to continue her training, it was a great pain to her as it was to anyone to hear that news announced to everyone during the ceremonies that she would have her training suspended until further notice. Deerpaw planned to hold her head high and take it all in stride, even if that meant dealing with the glares and disappointed looks.
Large green eyes peeked out of the nursery, curiosity swirling in their depths. He had woken up not long ago and did nothing for a good amount of time before deciding he wanted to do something. He turned back. “Deerpaw.” He scampered up to the apprentice who was, to his surprise, in the nursery. He had seen some of the looks she got, and he couldn’t really understand. She didn’t do anything wrong, did she? “Deerpaw, when will your kits be born? I wanna—“ a cough interrupted his sentence, so violent it shook his little frame, “I wanna play with them.” He eyed her for a moment before turning back to the exit. “Hey Amberpaw!” He called, his tail wiggling in glee, “Come play! Come play!”

Footsteps would sound as a familiar shape made an appearance around the corner from the nursery, the cream colored tom peeking his darkened face towards Deerpaw with a thrush clamped in his jaws. Without hesitation the tom would pad over and set the bird at her paws before stepping back to lay comfortably on the ground, looking at her silently but expectantly. Many in the clan knew very well he did not talk much, and was often considered the silent observer of the clan with kittypet origins. Cats in the wild did not naturally have his fur pattern, thus it was a constant reminder of his ancestry. Because of a collective contempt many had for him, Cedarberry often focused on hunting for birds and scouting out the trees to patrol the territory all without bothering to speak to anyone except on rare occasions. Seeing Deerpaw being judged to a degree made him feel pity, understanding quite a bit of how she felt.
Firetooth's back was facing the hollow's entrance, not an unusual sight for anyone in Earthclan. Sorting herbs was the ginger tom's go-to for when didn't want to deal with anyone...which was admittedly most of the time. With the addition of his new apprentice Starkpaw, he was able to remain in the den for even longer periods of time while the younger feline did all of the legwork. His ear twitched at the sound of kits' squeals of laughter outside, but he kept his focus on the pile of blackberry leaves in front of him, pushing it beside the small mound of dandelions. Being that it was Greenleaf and most warriors had the attention span of rabbits, it was smarter to have a stockpile of herbs for bee stings ready for immediate use.
NURSEY Deerpaw shifted, "soon. But you won't be able to play with them right away. They'll be too little. Why don't you go play with Sandkit, or--" SHe was startled when the warrior appeared before her, having been too focused on the sickly kit before her. "oh, thank you. But I can't possibly eat all of this."
MEDICINE CAT DEN Seastar, new named and still just as anxious, found herself wandering into the quiet of Firetooth's den. Laughter was faint here, things were quiet, and the scents were soothing. It helped her nerves some but not much. Tomorrow, all her siblings would go out for their first training session and she didn't know what she would do. For moons now Graypaw, Wildpaw Frostpaw, and Amberpaw were safe and sound in the nursery. It helped her some to know where they were at all times of the day. But now they could be anywhere in the territory and it had her on edge. "Firetooth?" Maybe he had something that could help her.
CENTER OF CAMP Acorncloud and his sister Daisyfeather are EarthClan's only elders, and two completely different cats. While he is fun loving and willing to play with the kits even if it means he's sore because of his arthritis. She's the grumpy sourpuss that hiss about ticks every moment of the day. Spotting Amberpaw, he made his way over. "Hey! Saw you get promoted. Pretty exciting right?" Amberpaw was a little surprised the energetic elder was talking to him, even asking if he was excited. Didn't he know that this apprentice didn't want to be an apprentice? The fool. He searched from one of his siblings, hoping they could save him from this joyous tom. Hearing his name called near the nursery, he tried to judge where the least amount of energy would be needed. Talk about being stuck between a hard spot and a tree root.

Cedarberry's ears pricked hearing Seastar making an appearance his attention drawn to the way the leader seemed to be carrying herself. Despite many likely seeing an elegant she-cat making her way group the camp, the tom could easily see the leader was clearly under quite the degree of stress. Deciding to make an effort, the tom stood up and walked over to approach her, stopping at the entrance to the den and calling out, "You should know that being a leader is something you are expected to learn with time. No one expects you to be perfect right away," he spoke. It wasn't very often he said a word, it was a wonder if Seastar had even heard his voice before.
CENTER OF CAMP Graypaw couldn't sit still for the life of him, his paws itching to run out into the forest. To hunt. To fight. To defend. He was acutely aware of his brother's completely opposite feelings, though the tom could not find it in himself to let it dampen his mood. He was, however, concerned about Ivorycrown's whereabouts, and had been talking of going to find her himself, though he hadn't dared leave camp without permission.
EDGE OF CAMP Coalsplash watched Seastar pad into the medicine cat den, his ears back on his head in concern. He felt bad for their new leader. He was happy that she had come to take the title - he had complete faith in the she-cat. Rather, he was concerned for her mental state, as she had seemed constantly stressed over the days since they had returned from her naming ceremony with StarClan.
Fallclan leader, nightclan MCA and a clumsy disaster xD

Nursery
Desertkit padded out of the nursery and sat beside Deerpaw just in time to hear her sister talking to Couragekit and telling him he should play with Sandkit, she looked up as Cedarberry dropped a vole but her attention wondered as the two cats spoke and she missed their words. The camp was busy, Seastar was leader now and there were new apprentices moving about. Turning her gaze back to her sister she smiled at how round her belly was, it wouldn't be long before the kits would arrive. "Can I help take care of the kits? I can help give them baths and when they are upset I can try and calm them down." She looked at Deerpaw with a hopeful gleam in her eyes, she knew the kits would be too small to play but she wanted to be around them as much as she could while she was still in the nursery.
EDGE OF CAMP Almondrose padded into camp and deposited her newly-caught prey on the fresh-kill pile. She'd never been much of a hunter, but she'd gained a little more confidence in her abilities recently, and wasn't as anxious about coming back into camp with a less-than-impressive haul of prey as she used to be.Looking around, she saw that it mostly seemed business as normal; as her gaze turned towards the medicine cat den, she caught the barest glimpse of Seastar padding into the medicine den. Almondrose frowned - was she just heading in there to chat, or had the leader gotten sick? She turned to face Coalsplash, who she saw was looking in that direction as well.
"Did Seastar mention anything about...um, that?" she asked the tom, jerking her head towards the medicine den.
EDGE OF CAMP "Nope. Reassuring, isn't it? Brand new leader and she's already stuck in the medicine cat den. Hope she got her nine lives, looks like she might need them," Dorsalray commented dryly as he strolled past the pair, flicking his ears in greeting to Coalsplash and Almondrose. He stopped in front of them with a impish half grin and waited for a response. He was finally a warrior, and he was determined to butt his way in everywhere he could -- and the tall mostly-black tom was nosy enough to begin with.
MEDICINE CAT DEN Seastar was startled when she heard Cedarberry speak up. "Oh, um, thank you?" To most who saw her, she looked a mess, and had for a few moons now. It was the first time that she could remember speaking to the tom, but then she'd spent most of her life taking care of Ivorycrown and now Amberpaw and his siblings, then as deputy of the clan. She'd always dedicated her time to other things, not herself. It was part of her problem.
NURSERY Deerpaw smiled, "I'd like that, Desertkit. I'm sure they'd love their aunt helping watch them too, or playing with them when they get bigger. Though, they probably won't like baths anymore than you do." Oh, the wails she heard from the kits about baths!
EDGE OF CAMP Amberpaw made his way over towards Almondrose when he spotted her come back to camp. But he couldn't believe the words he was hearing when he got close. Shocked, that Dorsalray would say such a thing about his big sister actual stirred something in him. "How dare you!" Anger coursed through him as he hissed his words at the older tom. Dorsalray may be old and wise and..a warrior, but Amberpaw loved his sister dearly! There was no way he was gonna let him say mean things about her. Why wasn't Almondrose helping defend Seastar? She was her sister too. "She's gonna be a great leader, just you watch!"

MEDICINE CAT DEN
Cedarberry sighed, taking a moment to take a breath before deciding to step further into the den, "If I may speak, you need to ensure that you are getting plenty of rest and taking your time to understand your own needs as well as your clan's. While a Clan is nothing without its Warriors, it is also nothing without its leader. Try your best and seek out help whenever you can. Your clan mates are here and ready to support you, you don't have to operate like you are in this on your own."
Having joined not long ago, Silentdawn still felt extremely nervous and misplaced. He barely knew their traditions, half of their language was a mystery to him, and he couldn’t even talk to them. He was an outcast, essentially. But he helped as best as he could. The pain in his pad stung as he made his way back to camp, trying to at least provide food for this Clan. Of course, he wasn’t used to wild prey, so he didn’t catch anything. He wondered if he should go to that one cat—the one who healed things. He must’ve gotten something in his foot—a sharp thing. The word couldn’t come to him. Oh, what were they called? He shook his head, deciding to forget about it.
Limping his way through camp, he made his way into the healer cats den—house? He liked the scents of this den. Taking a few steps in, he stopped, wondering how he would get their attention. He decided the easiest way was to just sit there, his paw held in the air, waiting to be noticed. If he wasn’t, then he’d figure the problem out himself.

NURSERY Sandkit toddled out of the den and blinked her eyes. Everything seemed so exciting and new out here. Then she heard talk about baths and scowled. "I don't wanna baff!" she mewed emphatically. I wanna play!" She swatted at Desertkit's tail and fell over bumping against her older sister, Deerpaw.

(OMG it's Whitemuzzle owo, hey it's me Frostice1!)
MEDICINE CAT DEN Cedarberry looked up towards the Medicine Cat and nodded, his blue eyes filled with respect for Silentdawn for the intelligence and knowledge he possessed. The cat intrigued him, having a level of curiousity equal to that of an outsider ever since he joined EarthClan as a kittypet. "Hello Silentdawn, the day treating you alright?" he asked kindly with a humble nod.
Silentdawn nodded, somewhat proud of himself for understanding the sentence completely. He held out his paw, the one with the sharp-thing in it, and shook it. He looked around the den, taking in the scents of all the different medicines.
Medicine-cat. His mind supplied finally. He was a medicine-cat. If only he could recall his name.

Cedarberry nodded before following his gaze towards the medicines in the den, his eyes wandering over the herbs only imagining the purpose of each one and was curious too learn more. He had an idea of what a few of them were including catmint which his twolegs kept growing in the back yard of his garden along with herbs like lavender and marigold. "If you ever need help gathering herbs you are always welcome to ask me to come with you. I would be happy to help in any way I can," he spoke calmly but slowed lightly just to make sure Silentdawn caught each of the words properly.
Proud of himself for understanding this other tom’s sentences, he purred. It wasn’t too loud, just a soft, distant noise, but it was a sign he was happy. And happy he was. Silentdawn sniffed at some of the medicines—herbs—wondering what they did. Did he need to know this to become a true member of EarthClan? Was he suppose to know them all by now? Nobody had told him anything about this stuff, but Silentdawn felt implications from the medicine-cat that maybe he should know the medicines. He panicked slightly, going to knead the ground nervously. He lifted his left paw suddenly, almost forgetting about the sharp thing stuck in his pad. He examined it himself. Was he also supposed to know how to do this, too? When he was younger, really little, his father always pulled them out flawlessly. He had only gotten a couple in his lifetime. The city didn’t have much sharp-things.

Cedarberry tilted his head before leaning his head forward, looking over the tom's paw pad at the moment he pulled it away, "Do you have something stuck in your paw? I could probably help you if you want. Unfortunately the typical bonus of long extended traveling also includes thorns and rocks between paw pads."
Seastar, new named and still just as anxious, found herself wandering into the quiet of Firetooth's den.
Well, there went his peace and quiet. Recognizing the scent of the new leader, Firetooth lifted his head from his work and glanced over his shoulder, about the open his mouth and answer until Cedarberry began his non-stop babbling. Oh, this was just great. Annoyed, but curious about how long the insolent warrior would keep interrupting, Firetooth kept silent; watching Seastar and the unwelcome visitor in the entrance converse, while staring daggers at Cedarberry in the hopes that some cat might take a hint. But alas, apparently some warriors are just that stupid.
And then Silentdawn walked in. Wonderful, now there were three cats in his den. Since the talking was still going on, he was content to quietly go back to his herbs and just pretend everyone around him didn't exist, until the sounds of someone offering to do his job for him reached his twitching ear, and finally struck a nerve. "Okay, that's it!" The ginger tom suddenly stood up, swerving around and marching towards Cedarberry until he was nose to nose with the other tom. "Are you the Medicine Cat here? I don't think so. Unless you've got an actual reason to be here, not counting your flapping tongue, I highly suggest that you get out of my den and let me work. Got it?"
Was it rude? Unnecessary? Who cares? There were never any rules in the Warrior Code saying the Medicine Cat had to be nice. His job was to heal cats, and the sooner they get in and out of his den with no interruptions, the better. Turning to Seastar, he continued on as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened. "Let me deal with Mr. thorn-in-paw here, and I'll get to you. But if the words leaving your mouth are 'poppy seeds to calm down' again, I'll kick you out too. Too many of those are bad for you, and you're smart enough to know it."
