"Of course! You'll get to live with us and when you're older you'll get to train with us. Sometimes I think it gets a bit crowed especially at night in the apprentice den," Pantherpaw meowed with a slight laugh. "But it's comforting to know so many cats are around. Cats in great numbers can defeat just about anything." She smiled remembering what her mentor had told her when she had asked about battling badgers and foxes.
As Pantherpaw answered her question, the kit's eyes went wide again. "Anything?" She asked in amazement. "Cats working together can beat anything? Even big, strong, monsters?" That sounded amazing! Excited by the idea, she began bouncing around Graythorn and Pantherpaw. "I want to meet everyone! I want to meet everyone!" Mudkit then paused and looked up at Graythorn with a begging expression. "Can I meet everyone, Graythorn? Pleeeeaaaaassssseeeeeee?"

A merry laugh escaped from Graythorn's lips, which was very much out of character for this normally taciturn cat. "What happened to the shy little kit who just came into the camp with me?" He ruffled her head fur. "You'll be meeting everyone soon enough." ~~~ "INTRUDER!" The sharp hiss came from behind Pantherpaw. Crimsonkit darted in and almost succeeded in pouncing upon Mudkit if it wasn't for Pantherpaw's quick intervention by knocking him away. "Leave her be! Can't you see she's smaller than you? And a kit too!" Crimsonkit sulked. "I was only protectin' our camp."
With a loud squeal of fear, Mudkit immediately darted back behind Graythorn, tucking herself under his tail out of fright. She peaked out worriedly from under the tom's tail, watching as Pantherpaw scolded the little tom kit who nearly tackled her. Her yellow-green eyes widened in surprise. Why, he didn't seem to be any older than she was! Her fear quickly melting away into annoyance, she let out a sharp hiss and stuck her tongue out at Crimsonkit, though kept herself safely under the protection of the Medicine Cat's tail.
"Y-You meanie! I'm not an intruder! Graythorn said that this is my home now! You're the intruder!"

" I'm not an intruder. I was here before you!" Crimsonkit retorted. "I was born here!"
"Come on now, both of you," Graythorn meowed. "Be nice to each other. You're going to be denmates and clanmates." He looked at Crimsonkit. "I'll expect you to be nice to Mudkit because she's new here and I want you two to be friends. You're older so I want you to help watch out for her." Crimsonkit seemed to be placated a little but his fur was still ruffled. "Oh, alright," he mewed, a pout upon his face.
"Now Mudkit," Graythorn continued, "Crimsonkit is okay once you get to know him. Try to be friends. It'll make your life here more pleasant."

Mudkit pouted at Graythorn's request, quickly turning her head away with an indignant huff. "But he was mean to me!" She argued, "Why do I have to be friends with him? Isn't there anyone else my age I can play with instead?"
"Oh! Do we have a new arrival?" A gentle mew came from behind Graythorn. Sunpaw stepped up, the golden splotches in her black coat glowing in the sunlight.

"We don't have a lot of kits at the moment," Graythorn told Mudkit. "But you'll get to like Crimsonkit when you get to know him." Crimsonkit puffed up his chest with pride. "Yeah! I'm great!"
Then turning to Sunpaw, the gray tabby replied, "Yes, this is Mudkit. She just arrived here. She was all alone so I brought her back to the camp to be raised as a SummerClan cat."
"Really?" Sunpaw mewed, crouching down to Mudkit's level. "I'm not from here either, but everyone is so nice that I'm sure we'll both do just fine. Don't you think?"
"More like; yeah right," Mudkit retorted sarcastically under her breath, rolling her eyes at Crimsonkit. Trying her best to ignore him, the kit turned her attention to the new she-cat her caretaker was talking to. "H-Hello!" She chirped shyly, though trying to give her best impression to the older cat, who looked to be about the same age as Pantherpaw and Graythorn. She lifted her chin up high bravely. "My name is Mudkit!" She paused for a moment, frowning again as she suddenly recalled what was said while she was distracted by Crimsonkit. "Wait...Graythorn told you already. Graythorn, can I give my own name next time?"
She turned, jumping a little as the apprentice suddenly was down at her eye-level. Her eyes grew wide in surprise. "You're...not from here either? Are you from where I'm from? I miss mommy a lot, but Graythorn has been really nice, I like being with him."
Sunpaw dipped her head in thanks to Pantherpaw. "Thank you, I will do my best for the Clan, always." At Crimsonkit's words, though, her fur bristled. "I was raised a kittypet. Do you think I'm soft, Crimsonkit?" Sunpaw mewed, eyebrow raised.

Crimsonkit's eyes widened in surprise. "Er, ..... um ... I didn't know that," he stammered. The apprentice looked anything but soft. "That's jus' something I was told."
"I hope you don't believe everything you hear, little one." Sunpaw mewed with a flick of her tail before turning her gaze back to Mudkit. "Yes, I'm from twolegplace originally, but SummerClan is my home now."
Mudkit tilted her head in confusion. A...kittypet? What was that? The word sounded familiar, but she didn't know what it meant. From Crimsonkit's reaction, it seemed like a bad thing to be, but she knew better than to trust his judgement. At least Sunpaw seemed to be proud of being one. Unsure, she tugged at the fur on Graythorn's leg. "What's a kittypet, Graythorn? Am I a kittypet?"

"A kittypet is a cat who lives with twolegs," Graythorn meowed gently. "Many clan cats look down on them for living an easy life, even thinking that they're not worthy enough to become warriors. But I wouldn't worry about that." He stroked his tail along Mudkit's back. "There's no proof that you're a kittypet and even if there was it wouldn't matter to me anyway."
Crimsonkit, forgetting about his recent lecture, mewed loudly, "Bet she is!"
"Enough of that!" Pantherpaw scolded the small red kit. "If you keep this up I'll report you to our leader and she just might hold back your promotion."
Mudkit's face softened in relief that she might not be a kittypet like Crimsonkit said, though perhaps she wouldn't mind so much if she was with Sunpaw around. All this positive attention...it felt nice, to have such kind faces around her, after what she had just recently been through. She giggled at Crimsonkit's pleading expression when the older cats admonished him, brushing up against Graythorn's tail with an amused purr. Stepping away from the Medicine cat's protective hold, she padded over to the other kit, sniffing him curiously. "Well if you seem to know it all, then you can show me around then! I want to see everything!"
