After her comment to Violetstar, Valleystar turned and began to look at the commotion that was coming from her Crowned, Diamondheart. Upon hearing the male WaterClan tom, she instantly moved forward, stepping between the two. "Is there a problem here?" She said, the large female staring down at Chimerahunt, yet her gaze was calm and voice collected. "If I'm wrong, you sounded a bit angry, no? Quite dark," Valleystar stated, her tail lashing out behind her. If there was one thing you never do, it's disrespect a WinterClan cat, let alone her Crowned. Her gaze turned back towards Violetstar, eyes landing on the WaterClan Leader. "We're all friends here, no?"
Tuskblood gave a respectful nod to Valleystar and Violetstar then shrugged. "Don't worry about him. I was giving him a hard time." She responded gruffly. She then turned back to Diamondheart and half-smirked. It was a strange sight on her deformed face. "That grumpy furball couldn't handle a beauty like me anyways." Tuskblood snorted, obviously joking. The Summerclan she-cat was well aware of how gruesome her face and large stature appeared to others. "How is Winterclan faring, mountain sister? It's been a while since I've seen any of you around."

indy & all the apprentices [ too many to tag now ] Chickpea nodded in agreement to Pumpkinpaw, "my group doesn't have many young cats either." It was easier to lie when there was some amount of truth to it. He was rather glad the apprentices didn't seem to mind Chickpea joining them despite him being older. But he assumed part of the issue was that they didn't realize how much older; the tom was small and delicate in appearance. Had made a calculated choice not to carry a clan name into the gathering. He counted his blessings that Glowstar hadn't not noticed his presence upon her arrival. "So I know we gathered under a truce, but when does that end?" He asked with pure curiosity. "I was told it lasts the fullmoon night, but other combatants said it only last while we're in the gathering place. Did any of you ask?"
There was no trace of fear in the scrawny ginger tom's eyes as he glared back up at the leader. "No, I don't think we are," he replied, his voice more even now, balancing between amusement and an empty threat. Let her run to his leader if she wished; maybe all of these cats criticizing him would finally make Violetstar admit she had chosen her deputy poorly. He hadn't asked for any of this and he sure as hell wasn't going to make things easy for anyone. His ear twitched toward Tuskblood but he wisely chose not to comment this time. He was done arguing. .
FALLCLAN @blankslate "My auntie says that StarClan gives us peace for the whole night so we can go home safely, and if they're mad at us they turn the moon red!" Pumpkinpaw gasped at her last statement. Her belief in StarClan was deep, and to think that they would turn the moon red sent shivers down her spine. Imagine the sight!
WINTERCLAN simplylightCleaver Diamondheart frowned at Chimerahunts comment. "I'm sorry; I did not mean to offend. May we start on a new paw? I've yet to introduce myself. My name is Diamondheart, yours? I have only just become Crowned, so I apologize for not immediately recognizing your scent. WaterClan, no?"
Turning to Tuskblood, she smiled and answered her inquiry, "We are fairing well this newleaf. StarClan has blessed our mountain with boutiful prey and warmer days than what we've normally seen. I do hope that greenleaf won't be too hot if it continues this way. My fur isn't short enough for that." She chuckled at herself, light shaking her thick tuxedo coat. "And SummerClan? How have you lot been? I noticed the borders have been quite quiet as of late. Has newleaf treated your clan well so far?"
A guarded look passed over her features for one moment before she relaxed her stance. They would need to send more patrols out soon before the others began to question... Ah, if only they had enough warriors available. With a proud gleam in her pale eyes she answered Diamondheart's questions, "I am glad to hear of Winterclan's thriving. I always imagined the cold would be too harsh, but you surprise me. Summerclan is strong and growing. We have seen many new offspring and apprentices this past season and the prey is running well once more." She nodded as she spoke, glad that her voice wasn't giving away the worry she felt for her sick clan. "And Waterclan, Chimerahunt?" Her attention turned once more to the solemn tom, this time more serious. She figured there would be more time to rile him up at other gatherings.

Rainpaw glanced up at Violetstar and the other leaders. He noticed their tension and wondered what was happening up there. "I'm not sure, honestly. I believe it lasts until everyone has returned home from the Gathering." He mused, turning his attention back to the other apprentices.

"Then I guess we better not upset them" Echopaw purred, twitching her whiskers in amusement. "That was a really good question, though, Chickpea." She hoped that was his name. There were so many apprentices in their group and she had only heard a couple of the apprentice's say his name. However, a part of her was afraid she had said it wrong or perhaps it wasn't his name.
The WaterClan deputy squinted at the foreign she-cat in disbelief at her apology. He had assumed she would be cold and cruel, like he'd heard most of her clan was; her politeness threw him off and he didn't trust it for a second. Nor was he about to drop his guard with Tuskblood who was suddenly acting civil. His nostrils flared as he considered just ignoring them both. Then, biting back a sigh, he answered.
"Chimerahunt, deputy of WaterClan," he told the Crowned shortly, not bothering to hide the trace of bitterness in his voice as he said his own title. "WaterClan is doing fine."
indy "Has anyone ever been attacked on their way home you think?" He wondered, wide eyed and projecting awe towards the very thought of it. "Sorry I know you're all new as well. It's just we don't attend very many gatherings; it's more of a clan thing. I just have so many questions." He ducked his head sheepishly and gave a little shake as if to jolt himself from his current chain of thoughts. "Have any of you been to a gathering before? Pumpkinpaw?" Asking the outgoing fallclan apprentice directly, as she seemed familiar with the whole event.
EARTHCLAN Seablossom glanced back at her sister one last time, before weaving away from both her and the rest of the deputies. She didn't care to be a part of their little spat, though she wasn't even sure what it was about. Just that it'd gotten the leaders' attentions. "Wait up, Crownedglass!" She scrambled to keep him in eyesight, nearly running him over in her haste. "Sorry." Who was he'd brought her over too?
Mysterypaw had walked up beside Raspberrypaw and her eyes immediately turned starry, "Oh my gosh, I love you, let's be best friends!" Raspberrypaw leaned into Mysterypaw sinking into her amazingly fluffy fur, yes, this is everything I want, fwuffy fur.
Glowstar watched Diamondheart attempt to talk to Tuskblood and Chimerahunt. WaterClan cats new generation kind of sucked. Mainly because after that plague they've been a stick in the mud and yet her clan and SpringClan were enslaved for moons and were still walking around like nothing happened. WaterClan was better than that in her opinion. And then SummerClan... She kind of forgot SummerClan existed.
"So Diamondheart, oh, by the way I'm from DayClan. What made you interest in accepting the position as deputy?" Glowstar asked.
Duskpaw watched Skypaw walk over and then Paintedpaw approached Pumpkinpaw... And then Glacierpaw, Birchpaw and Rainpaw. Wow there were a lot of apprentices. Why didn't SunClan let apprentices go to the gathering? Whatever, he was here as a DayClan cat today even if he resided in SunClan.
"Yeah I've never been to a gathering, SunClan doesn't allow it for apprentices. So hey, so I'm from DayClan and SunClan, where are you guys from? OH and what's your training like? Mine is mainly chores right now," Duskpaw explained, "And my clan has a lot of apprentices since we kidnapped all those kits a few moons back so it's kind of crowded," He laughed cruelly, "Though seriously I've also never seen this many apprentices, we should sneak out sometime. Make our own apprentice gathering without all these snooty warriors around," Duskpaw winked.
Violetstar was only able to half glance at the other leaders, her attention drawn to her deputy. He sure was easy to get into things with others. She knew full well, and had kept an ear open for such things. Dismissing herself from the other leaders, the lithe female made her way to the small gathered group. “Getting on well, I suppose, Chimerahunt?” Her eyes shifted across the gathered. “Tuskblood, SummerClan seems to be doing fine.” Violetstar purred softly, though she was known to be a very quiet leader in the gatherings. She also knew how to act. The other leader calling her out to speak on he rdeputy’s behalf had ruffled her furs, but she tried to hide it.
Violetstar was truly a kind hearted cat, perhaps not a mean bone in her body. Yet, she was untrusting of the other clans, and found it hard to open herself up. So, just for the moment, she let her walk down, if only enough to save her dearest of friends, Chimerahunt. “You, I haven’t quite met yet.” Her gaze had shifted to Diamondheart, then. “My name is Violetstar, I am leader of WaterClan.”

syzygyCleaver Tuskblood watched Violetstar and Chimerahunt with mild amusement. It seemed like the two of them were friends. She couldn’t imagine how a cat could get along with him, but she figured he must have at least one friend. “Yes, thank you. Waterclan too, so I hear.” She rumbled in response, glancing over at the Waterclan deputy for a moment. “He’s a tough one to befriend, hm? I’m glad to see he has someone.” Tuskblood was not one to sugarcoat her words. It was simply a part of her character to be blunt, though she meant no ill will. She honestly meant her words. Maybe not being so lonely would help toughen him up and perhaps lift his mood in the future.

WINTERCLAN Diamondheart dipped her head in respect to the WaterClan leader. "Diamondheart, Crowned of WinterClan. I remember WaterClans scent from my travels many moons ago." She gave the leader a warm smile with another dip of her head. She then turned to Glowstar as she asnwered her question, though she intended for her answer to be heard throughout the group of leaders and deputies, "Is it often that others turn down the position?" She chuckled lightly without another small shake of her pelt. "Valleystar and I have a good connection; like a match made in StarClan itself. Although it has only been a few seasons since I've come to the mountains, Valleystars passion and veracity has touched me immensely. When she asked for me to accompany her on this journey of leadership, there was very little I could say no to." While it wasn't the full story, it was enough to give them the main gist. There really was no offering of positions or anything of the sort- but they can think there was, if they want to. No one but WinterClan had to know the real truth.
"I turned mine down after a few weeks of being Deacon in Primal Instinct. I got invited to assassinate the nemesis at the time, but even if she turned into a total... What do you clan cats love to say, fox heart. Yeah she was a total fox heart, but she still used to be my best friend so I let her live. But like most leaders of Primal Instinct you think they died and then they actually turn out to be alive five moons later, it's why I don't cry at funerals. You just never know if your friends really dead or not. I at least wait half a year to see if they're alive," Glowstar explained, "But anyways that's cool having a leader you actually like. My favorite leader was Crescentstar, she was just so chill. I mean I had to assassinate her, but like, leaders have nine lives so it was fine. By the way, love the name Diamondheart, it's so meaningful, like a heart that can't be corrupted."
simplylightindyFaithsyzygyCleaver Valleystar listened to the others as they conversed among themselves, her tail lashing out behind her, a look of pure boredom stretching across her features. A soft sigh escaped her vocals and she stood from where she sat, further indulging herself into the conversation her Crowned was having, her side brushing against Diamondheart's as she came to sit down once more. Her eyes found that of Tuskblood, a quite peculiar looking character. Of course, Valleystar had no filter, and said anything that came to mind. "Your teeth," She began, catching everyone's attention, "they remind me of a snake's. Deadly and venomous. I wonder what else those teeth can do other than rip apart flesh. Do they poison the hearts of others, too?"
"Yup." She answered casually with a blank expression.
. . . .
Inwardly, Tuskblood was chuckling at the Winterclan leader's musings. When she had arrived to Summerclan as young, toothy spud, the clan had been unsure of her. Many speculated that she had murdered cats, which she hadn't, but she just let them wonder. It didn't hurt to have a few cats fear you when trying to make a name for yourself. She imagined a few of them still questioned her past even though it was their warriors that discovered her after her stronghold was torn apart. Oh well. She had learned to embrace her beastly appearance instead of feeling bad for it. Honestly, she had a lot of advantages looking the way she did. This was one of those moments.
After a few more moments of the awkward silence, Tuskblood shook her head and let out a laugh from deep within. She would let them figure out if she was joking or not, but she didn't imagine it would be that hard. It wasn't like they were dripping venom or anything like that. "I've never heard a snake. That one is new. Now, a boar, maybe." She rumbled thoughtfully then turned towards the leader. "Your fur reminds me of an overstuffed owl. It must keep you warm during the cold season. Good job."
