Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Admittedly, he hadn't been expecting that kind of bombshell to land at his paws, but when he did all he could do was sit and blink for a few moments. His steps had faltered until he was at a complete stand still, looking over at her with shock. He quickly schooled his expression, though, and continued on their way. "And yet, despite this, you seem to... be all too willing to throw it this way and that." Despite himself, he chuckled. "I understand. Not as fully as you do, but I can see where you're coming from." He glanced at her. "Though you understand the severity of the consequences should your idea fail? If you're to be killed before she is, she will continue to carry her lives and the secret will go down with you?" He lowered his voice all the more. "How do you plan on ridding her of so many lives anyway, when yours is not as protected as it should be?"
Tasman let the information sink in to him. She didn't want to overload him, not all at once. Did he understand? The calico cat was unsure. Could anyone really understand? That was a loaded question. "This is the task I have been given by the gods," she meowed after a moment. "Nivet came to me in a dream. They told me that this is my path and I must take it." Her nose twitched. She would not fail; she could not. There was too much riding on this. "The secret was not meant to die with me. You think I would walk to my death without telling anyone, without saying goodbye? You assume me selfish if you do." Her tail flicked. "Kerrigan cares about the group. We may not get along, but she will understand that this is what has to be done. She has to."
He shook his head, disbelief plain. “I hate to say it, but Kerrigan doesn’t strike me as the type to sacrifice even one life for BrookClan. She could’ve done it when she was faced with her conundrum in the first place and instead she ran.” He blinked, turning his attention back to what was ahead. “I understand you feel obligated to see it through; after all, if Nivet’s given it to you directly then it’s what must be done. But you have yet to answer my question. Any of them, actually.” He blinked. “But we’ll focus on the main one: How?”
"You do not understand the situation." She didn't know why she felt so inclined to defend Kerrigan. After all, the she-cat had ruined the entirety of her life. Still, she felt a flint-anger spark in her chest when he suggested that Kerrigan just ran. Nivet had not been the most transparent when they approached her, but she had been told the bare minimum of the situation. 'And if she doesn't, well." Her eyes glinted. SHe would take things into her own paws, divert from the plan. She would martyr herself for the group and she would not do it unsuccessfully. "Nivet explained that the path would become clear to me in time."
