Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He shrugged a little. Her praise made him want to squirm with embarrassment and feel warm at the same time. “I was scared. But nobody would give up on me, and that made it feel like it would be okay. I can’t share my bravery with you,” he meowed solemnly, “but maybe I can help you re-find yours.”
His head tilted to the side and he sighed. “I don’t know how to do this. That was your thing. But I don’t want to be without you if I don’t have to, so let me help you.”
Spookbat nearly blushed, help her find her bravery again? Could it be possible? And had she really been one of the ones to help turn that scared little apprentice into this warrior? Then there was his last comment. That he didn't want to be without her. Did he want more? Did she? The blush on her face said yes, but she hadn't been able to trust her own mind in so long. But this was a matter of the heart, and that she could trust. It was broken and torn, but it still beat like a bat. "Ma-maybe we can do this together? Like before...but better?" She hesitated to imply anything more than friends, afraid she'd read far too much into it.
(I swear our mate threads keep getting longer and longer and their not even mates yet. Like the one with Sea and Crown is like 6 pages long and this one has spanned across two sites and from when they were apprentices to now. Usually I'm too impatient for that or I lose interest cus there's only so much I can do to keep a thread from being they went hunting the end. But these ones! The drama!)
(man i don’t know why we keep having these situations xD but they’re fun??? i enjoy our mates)
He studied her with his silent blue gaze, searching for a sign of her feelings. He wasn’t the best with reading emotion, he rarely looked other cats in the eye for the first few moons after the incident because he hated to see their pity, but he was good at watching. You didn’t need two eyes to watch, he learned, just patience. And he’d always been patient, because he had been at hiding and waiting for his fear to pass. He did that now, too: held her brilliant gaze steadily as he focused on her tone and the change in her expression, counting breaths until his nerves receded enough a little bit of courage could bleed through.
“Swiftstorm says I’ll be a warrior soon.” He wished his voice wouldn’t quiver so much. “We could be together for the rest of our lives.”
(lol same. probs why I always bug you with my ideas. That and no one else can keep up with the drama I cause for these poor cats lol)
"Really?! That's great!" Both to him being promoted and to being together. A little bit of the old Spookbat bleed through in her excitement, fear chased away by the happiness incasing her heart. Could she really be so lucky? To have found love in her best and oldest friend? Yes. The answer was yes. It would seem, even now, moons since they last talked, that they would still have each others back. Jynxlaughter had been right when he said she should have spoken to him sooner, when things were really starting to get bad for her; the old tom had been wiser than she'd ever given him credit for. Clearly, he'd seen what the two of them had been so blind to. A love that transcended friendship, though that was what he parents had wasn't it? So maybe he'd just seen what was obvious. That the two would always come to the other's rescue, even when they thought themselves unworthy of the other.
They could fight through this life together, defend each other. They'd done it before. When they were newly apprentices and he'd been more easily scared, when they'd been abducted and she'd frozen in fear. Where one was weak the other would find strength. Just look at the moments before! Spookbat had nearly subcome to her panic within a maybe-active fox den and he'd braved his fears to come after her. If you asked her, she'd tell you that she'd do the same. Even if she didn't feel she was worthy of this tom.
"Together like old times, hm? I'd like that. If we'd just stick together."
(omg they're both like blushing brides! I love it!!!! I may or may not be crying at the beauty of the two of them. Their thread is coming to a close and it's so sad. We'll have to start a new one lol)
His pads prickled as he waited for her answer, and though he was nervous, he was not afraid. This was his friend, his best friend, the cat he loved; he didn't believe she would reject him, but even if she did, he knew she would still be at his side. It would all be okay... and it was. A faint smile blossomed into into full strength at her agreement and Snowpaw started to purr. They were both wrecks, the fox den had proven that, but as long as they had each other, everything would be alright. He was a simple cat, with simple needs, and all he wanted was a simple life; he didn't want to think about complicated things, he just wanted to be hers and he would be happy.
"Good," he purred, "good." Then, after a brief pause, he decided it was best to really clarify they were on the same page, so he bowed his head and looked up at her with dove soft eyes. "Spookbat," he meowed solemnly, "will you be my mate?"
(So my roommate is like "what are you grinning about?" Cus I'm just like these precious children. She doesn't understand the effort we've put into these two lol)
Spookbat couldn't help the grin overtaking her face or the pur that wouldn't stop. Happiness wasn't something she had really thought about lately, believing herself destined for sadness and loss forevermore. But the fates would shine on her again it would seem. The tom of her dreams, her best friend, and closest confidant had just asked to be her mate. It was more than she could dream of! "Yes!"
(I think we're good with ending this thread here, yes?) (We can do kits! I already have ideas I was doing that yesterday instead of studying soooo)
I'm stealing Beetleboo! I love his name lol. Look I even found pictures for them!
Wasn't sure what color Snowshod's eyes were so I went with yellow, otherwise some of her siblings (I think?) had yellow eyes so gonna say it passed from there
