Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Briskfang's tail twitched as he trotted along the path outside of the camp. The moon was warm on his shoulders. For today his apprentice was busy elsewhere, so he had a rare moment to himself, and the large tom had no idea how to spend the day. He chuckled to himself. "What a problem to have."
Phoenixblaze had been out unsuccessfully hunting near the main path that lead away from camp when she first heard the fall of paw steps on the path and then a quiet voice that she couldn't quite make out. She made her way towards the path, hoping it wasn't one of the recent invaders and was glad to see a fellow MoonClanner in front of her. Stepping out into the relative open she greeted Briskfang. "Hello."
He looked up quickly to see the deputy and smiled. "Ah! Hello, Phoenixblaze. I hope you didn't hear me talking to myself just then." He didn't look embarrassed. The sweet tom rarely was, even with the large scar splitting his lower lip.
(she wouldn't be deputy if this was still during the invasion which I think most threads are. The ceremonies are supposed to have taken place after SunClan and everybody else leaves MoonClan)
"I didn't hear any specifics, just some cat talking. Thought you might have been SuunClan before I saw you." she said truthfully.
Anger darkened his fierce gaze and he flexed his paws. For a cat that spent his life fighting, it felt wrong to do otherwise. "They have no right to be here. Just because we're weak..."
"They took advantage of the fact that we were weak. One day soon we'll be strong enough to drive them out and reclaim our own land again." Phoenixblaze said.
A low growl rumbled in Briskfang's throat. "That day can't come soon enough," he replied grimly. "MoonClan should stand on its own, like it always has."
“I have tried to teach my apprentice and my daughter to be proud of our clan, but it is far more difficult to explain when we are being picked apart by vultures,” he admitted.
"If you didn't grow up in the clan or come to the clan when it was free and safe it's hard to see anything past the clan being overrun by other clans." Phoenixblaze agreed.
"Like I said it's being worked on. We had to wait until the clan was actually back up to full strength before trying to take on other clans if that's necessary."
Briskfang nodded, but with a grimace. Maybe she was right, but even his patience once lasted so long, and he had always been a bit of a war hawk. "We'll just have to do that soon, then." His eyes creased and he looked troubled. "I suppose that means training apprentices.. but I don't think Primrosepaw is ready yet." He wasn't sure he'd ever think his apprentice was ready; she was brave and smart and skilled, but he feared letting her into battle with merciless cats.
"That's why it's taking so long to retaliate against those who've taken over our clan. We don't want to fight them head on in a full out battle." Phoenixblaze said.
