Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Frostcry started to nod, but then he hesitated. He didn't have a right to question her, but he did it anyway. "I know we have a mission," he said slowly, "but shouldn't we make sure it isn't headed toward camp?" They were far enough it was unlikely the fox would find the Regime anyway, but he didn't like the idea of a lone warrior finding it by accident.
Oceaneyes paused, in thought. It took her a few moments, but she finally spoke. "I believe... that it should be fine. The thing puts off an awful smell, and no warrior should be leaving the tunnels without another warrior or renegade scout." She explained slowly. "If we went back, we risk having to fight it ourselves, just the two of us."
Frostcry's tail tip twitched as he stared into the horizon. The two of them could handle it, he was certain of that, and they would be protecting their clan. His paws itched with the need to track down the beast and fight it himself, to prove to her it would be fine. He cast a sharp glance her way, prepared to continue to argue, but something in her face gave him pause.
His tail lashed once more, but the tension fell from his shoulders, and he nodded reluctantly. "Okay," he acquiesced. "You're right. The others will see it coming and get to safety."
StarClan, she truly hoped that she had made the right call. Frostcry's eyes and the way he seemed so reluctant to let the subject go, made her question her own judgement. Would everything be okay? He chest squeezed some, and she turned away. Even though he words were meant to be reassuring, she didn't feel it at all. She scuffed a paw on the grass,"Let's keep moving."
He willed his mind away from the fox and turned his paws back toward their path, taking a short hop to right his twisted paw. All the whole he kept one eye on her. A moment ago, Oceaneyes was sure enough to believe in, but now he saw a hint of doubt. He felt a strange need to boost her up, make her firm again.
Still unsure if he had made the right choice, Frostcry was eager to leave it behind. He trotted several paces ahead of her to look over the land and looked toward the horizon ahead. “How far do you think we will go?”
"I'm not sure... as far as we need, I think. I believe the best start would be to go around our old territory. See if there are any signs that may point us in another direction... maybe where prey had ran to." She mewed, though she was just as lost at the thought of where they might go or be led.
"We will." Frostcry was certain of that. The right home would be theirs soon enough. "The clan will call us heroes.... not that I'm doing this because of that!"
