Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Skipstep shifted on his paws. What Littlestar said was true. If the cat didn't fear death, nor care what became of him most of their methods were limited.
Personally Skipstep felt then they could just go to worse methods. After all he had served under Foxstar, if one didn't fear death simply make them suffer a fate worse than death... but typically those were a bit more permanent and harder to goad information out of them that way.
But he didn't want Vividcanary around to see that. See the depths the janus could go to when the need arose.
It was one of the reasons he was glad to stay a janus, as long as he was around he could spare the younger ones from having to do the dirtier work before they were ready. Before they'd hardened their hearts as he had.
He narrowed his eyes when Littlestar noted it was a delay tactic. But for what?
"You think they've let this cat be taken so we'd be away from camp?" Skipstep asked slowly. "To perhaps stage an attack?"
The tom did not take the insult lightly. Despite Littlestar telling him to stop, he waited one more moment and slashed the prisoner clean across his nose. As the wound bled profusely, he leaned in and whispered "We'll see." With that he turned and left to meet the rest of the Janus.
Well, it looked like no one of them would like what he had to say. "There's no point in bringing him with us. He clearly won't say anything to us. He would be a moons long project." He paused. "I think we should go back in there, slit his throat, and then head back to camp. He is wasting time, and keeping him here is a liability. He's seen enough that he could be a threat to the younger ones if whatever group he belongs to finds us." He glanced at the newer Janus. "I think we can all agree that he and his allies do not deserve any ounce of grace from us. They used that up the moment they mutilated Honestpaw's body."

"Then we're wasting time," Midnightcurrent straighten up with impatience and exhaled an annoyed sigh at the lack of information he was getting from this back and forth, "Just tell us which one of us is going to slit his throat and which of us should start heading back." He didn't like to think the ones he cared most about could be getting hurt and he wouldn't know because he wrapped up in whatever this position dragged him into. The youngsters, his friends, his... and Yarepawn. He wasn't the most pleasant cat to begin with and risk of threats didn't make him any better in the moment.
