Tinymutiny was finally starting to get her bearings though she was still shaking by the time Sootstep pulled away and Snakebounce reached her. She looked up, still not even quite sure what happened herself "I'm fine" she pushed herself to shaky paws, the wounds she had caused herself shallow. It was more the shock of the whole thing. Stormstar hadn't even touched her... How had he... Looking over to Snakebounce, "Just let them go, pesky intruders" ----------------------------------------
Darksonata's ear flicked back as Sootstep approached, and Stormstar pulled away
Harmless offer?
There was something not adding up about this whole thing. Tinymutiny had been off her rocker for a while now, but when she first appeared she had been clearly been talking to someone. Then Sootstep just happened to appear. Stormstar didn't seem to know that the warrior was there, so why had the cat just so happened to show up at that time. The black tom gave Sootstep a suspicious glare "Hardly" before looking back at the SummerClan leader
"I'll have to decline, then," Stormstar hummed. "NightClan is much closer, regardless. Would you like to escort me back there?"
Sootstep's jaw clenched at the leader's words. It was a subtle gesture as he bit back his angry words, but it was more than enough to summon an insidious smile to Stormstar's face. He had an ounce of control back, something he'd been lacking the moment the warrior had made an attempt on his life, and he was feeling more himself. Still -- he needed to be certain of what he'd seen.
"Well, there is one more small matter. I don't want to cause a war between the clans," Stormstar meowed apologetically, "so we'll have to make this our little secret. There are far too many cats here to keep a secret effectively, don't you think? Hakoda, why don't you deal with my errant clanmate here, and I'll silence yours." The blue tom shot his companion a look, trust me, and strolled toward Tinymutiny and her son. It was an easy lie to see through, he was certainly not going to kill two SunClan cats on their own land and in front of Hakoda, but that didn't matter. It was enough to entice the SummerClan warrior.
Sootstep's blue gaze flashed between the retreating leader and the SunClan warrior ahead of him. Stormstar's back was turned; this was his own chance to kill him without meeting the same fate as Tinymutiny. He bared his teeth at Darksonata, feigned a lunge toward him, then ducked and sprinted at Stormstar to launch himself at his unprotected neck.
