Bonfirekit stared out from Burningstar's den. The small Autumn colored fluffy tom stared up into the moon as it cast its light across NightClan's camp. Leaves rustled and moss rolled across the ground as Bonfirekit took his fist few steps out of the den since arriving from SpringClan's territory.
Skykit had been sitting outside the nursery, her mother Soaringbird washing her fur. Her nose twitched at the strange scent. A scent that smelled faintly of autumn leaves... rather than the smell of NightClan. She turned towards the source ears perked blind eyes looking in that direction.
"Oh what's got your interest?" Soaringbird purred at her daughter, and then she spotted Bonfirekit. "Oh! That's right, Burningstar adopted a kit last night." Soaringbird said with a purr. "Could barely get it out of her she was so excited." The silver and gray tabby said with a laugh. "LEt's go and say hello, shall we?" She asked glancing down at Skykit, resting her tail on the blind kit's back. Even though Skykit could easily orient on Bonfirekit by his scent.
"Hello Bonfirekit, I know Burningstar hasn't had a chance to introduce us, but, I'm Soaringbird." Soaringbird meowed crouching so she was closer to the autumn colored kit's height. "I'm your aunt, and this is your cousin, Skykit, say hello Skykit."
Skykit came up to him almost sticking her face in his personal space, unable to see how far away exactly he was. "Hi! I'm Skykit!" She meowed

His little ears bent back and flattened across his small head and he lowered himself to the ground trying to make himself even smaller than he already was. "H..h.h.hello..." he managed in a little squeak.
Soaringbird shifted back trying to give Bonfirekit more space. "IT's okay, there's no need to be afraid." She reassured him. "We're family you know." She said with a purr.
Skykit upon hearing his voice and realizing she might be a little too close shifted back. "Oops, sorry did I get too close? I'm still working on determining how close or far someone is. But I'm getting better. I can't see," She gestured to her foggy sightless blue eyes. "So I have to rely on scent, sound and feel. But I'm getting really good. I can walk around camp without bumping into anything now!"

Brightkit woke up from her nap to hear Skykit and Soaringbird leave the nursery. Her ears pricked in curiosity as she got up quickly from her warm, mossy nest. She peeked out of the nursery entrance to see Skykit and her mother walk over to Burningstar's den. What are they doing over there? She quietly padded over to Skykit's side, laying her tail on her shoulder to let her know she was there. To her surprise, she saw a kit who was smaller and younger than she. She giggled a little bit. "Wow! You're tiny!"
“Be nice Brightkit,” Soaringbird said gently as Skykit turned towards her denmate before refocusing on Bonfirekit. “This is Bonfirekit, Burningstar’s adopted son. She brought him here after her patrol found him by SpringClan territory.”

Brightkit looked up at Soaringbird in shock. "He's a SpringClan cat?"
Her fur bristled a bit, but looked back at the kit in sympathy. She understood what it was like to feel abandoned. Even though her mother was a NightClan cat, she left the nursery so early it felt like no one was there to look after her. At least Soaringbird was nice to her. Brightkit flicked Skykit's ear with her tail. "We should show him around the camp! Since he's a NightClan cat now, he needs to know where everything is!" She bounced up and down on her paws. "It'll be fun!"

"Faaall c clan." he squeaked. His pride springing up at the thought of being compared to a springclan cat. His ears lifted back up and a spark lit in his amber eyes. At the mention of seeing the camp he tipped his head to the side. "The whole camp?" He took a closer step to Skykit, the tips of his pelt brushing hers perhaps for comfort.
"He's from FallClan," Soaringbird said to Brightkit, "That's one of the clan's near SpringClan."
"Oh that's why he smells like leaf fall!" Skykit said ears pricking up and she chuckled when he pressed against him. "And he's so fluffy!" She squeaked shifting to press back against him. "And can we give him a tour mama?"
Soaringbird nodded. "I don't see why not, Burningstar's probably off doing you know, leaderly things, so you can spend time with us! Brightkit, Skykit why don't you take the lead," The silver tabby gesturing for the two kits to take the lead, her blue eyes soft.

"Lllets g g go." Bonfirekit meowed trying his best to join in with what they were referring to as a tour. In his wee kitten mind he thought they were going to take him up high someplace to see the whole camp. Was that what a tour was?

"Great!" Brightkit's pelt fluffed up with excitement. "This way!" She laid her tail on Skykit's shoulder to gently lead her to where she was going. She padded over to where Burningstar would give his announcements. The huge purple, quart-like stone jutted out close by the leader's den. "This is the LightStone." Brightkit explained. "On some nights when Burningstar makes some really important announcements or ceremonies, the stone actually glows! It's like it knows that something important is going on..." Brightkit trailed off as she admired it's glassy surface. "When I become an apprentice, I get to stand up there with Burningstar when she gives me a mentor!" She nudged Skykit. "Hopefully we'll be paired together when we become apprentices!"
She pointed her muzzle to the warrior's den a few tail-lengths away. "Over there is where all the warriors sleep, at least those who aren't in the Black Hand. They sleep right next to Burningstar's den."
Brightkit flicked her ears to the medicine cat den, the cave looking ominous in the middle of the night. "Over there is where Mercury, our medicine cat lives!" Her eyes shone with excitement. "Come on! I'll show you what the inside looks like. It's so cool!"
Skykit nodded. "That'd be cool!" She agreed. "We'd work well together!" She said and then to Bonfirekit. "NightClan has a thing where to allow apprentices to get good at working with each other. Burningstar doesn't just give them a mentor, she also gives them a partner who's a fellow apprentice. Though if there's an odd number of apprentices they can be paired with a warrior."
Then she let out a mock huff. "I can't see it, but the scents are cool. So many different plants and herbs."
"Just make sure you don't eat any plants you don't know!" Soaringbird warned, as she shadowed the kits around. Her eyes soft.

Brightkit rolled her eyes. "You know what I mean, Skykit. By the way, my eyes rolled to MoonClan and back."
She padded over to the cat-sized hole in a seemingly stand-alone rock. "Here, Bonfirekit. Walk beside me. It's so dark, only Skykit will know where she's going." She purred teasingly.
The tunnel opened up into a wide open area that was brightly illuminated, despite being underground. A small waterfall flowing into a small pool glowed like starlight, filling the room with it's gleam. Two nests were a few pawsteps away from it. One of them contained Mercury's scent, despite it being slightly stale. "Over here is where he keeps all his herbs!" All of Mercury's herbs were stacked side by side, neatly organized. "I don't know many of them, but I do know watermint and poppy seeds from when I had a bellyache." She sat back proudly, satisfied at her tour of the medicine cat den.

Bonfirekit scampered after them skidding to a stop just shy of barreling over Skykit. "Herbs? Like flowers?" he asked looking around with curiosity. The smell of the herbs barreling into him like a wall. "Wow what is that?" he asked not realizing the distinct bitter scent was yarrow.
Skykit sniffed detecting where Bonfirekit was and leaned towards it. “Yarrow I think? Raspberrykit had to be given some cause she tried to eat something she shouldn’t have tried to eat.”

Brightkit licked her ear briskly. "I think you're right! On to be the next medicine cat, huh?" she teased.
"On with the tour! Next is the apprentice's den. It's not much, but we're about to move in there next! I just hope my nest is comfy enough." She slipped through the tunnel and back into the camp's clearing and led the group to a bush similar to that of the warrior's den, but smaller in scale. "Here it is!"

"It?" He asked tipping his head to the side. It was an exaggerated motion but it couldn't be helped. "What's it? Can I be an apprentice?" he asked his tail shaking with excitement.
"Well fortunately, my lack of sight means I'm the best at picking the softest moss and feathers." Skykit meowed. "So you might have to wait a moon, but once I'm there we'll have the most comfortable nests in the whole den!" She said tail held high. Then to Bonfirekit she meowed. "We won't be apprentices until we're 6 moons old. Me and my siblings have only one moon left, Brightkit's being made an apprentice soon. You're... I dunno how old you are."
"Bonfirekit is about 3 moons old, Burningstar says. So you've got 3 more moons to wait Bonfirekit." Soaringbird meowed coming up behind the group. "But that means you'll have plenty of time to spend with Burningstar and Lindon, and enjoying some kit games."

Bonfirekit look from Brightkit and Skykit up to Soaringbird. "But I want to stay with Skykit." he meowed with a little broken whine. Tears welling in his amber gaze.
"You can stay with us in the nursery, and if you want I'm sure Burningstar would let us have a sleepover in her den if we asked really nicely." Skykit offered quickly going up and pressing up against Bonfirekit. "She wouldn't deny me and my siblings the chance to be with our cousin."
Soaringbird purred. "Oh please do. And if need be Bonfirekit you can ask her to come to the nursery with you and we'll all cuddle together. Then when Skykit's an apprentice... we'll all go sleepover in Burningstar's den."
"My den would have to be much bigger on the inside to fit you and all your kits Soaringbird." Burningstar meowed the ginger she cat padding over having returned from a patrol. "As well as it's normal occupants." she turned to Bonfirekit, "But yes, your cousin's are always welcome to stay with you in our den. Or we can stay with them in the nursery. But even when Skykit and Brightkit get promoted, they won't be gone forever."
"Yeah! We'll be sure to come visit!" Skykit said. "And we'll teach you all the moves we've learned so you'll be way ahead of all the other new apprentices!"
