Her eyes were as grey as the clouds above.
Rhiannon padded along the railing of a fire escape, eyes fixed on the half open window of the building. She always did have a love for sneaking in and out of things, and the room seemed empty...yet, there was a certain drive, a curiosity within her that seemed to push her towards it. A quick leap and she was now on the platform of the balcony, sitting on the stone ledge with a grin on her face.
This was going to be some sort of adventure, at the very least, and Rhiannon always found ways to pass her boredom, after all.

Uta lacked a fear of heights, be it stalking in the trees, lounging on a branch, or just having a satisfying climb to the highest twoleg point to watch the city breathe and move beneath him. His current view had a cat-shape catch his eye and he intently studied it trying to determine if it was friend or foe next victim. No, she looked familiar - something with a 'r' name... He noticed the open window her attention seemed to be fixed on, clearly it must a twoleg trap or obvious hazard to avoid... but she still went closer- was there something there didnt see? Something he didnt know? Well, curiosity killed the cat, he should mind his business and looked away.
. . ..
He turned back- BUT SINCE HE WAS HE AFRAID OF DEATH? he'd been around for years now and excitement and thrills were worth even a visit from the grave godess herself. He jumped down from his perch and closed the distance between him and the building with the fire escape, losing sight of her until he went to the ledge of the building he was on. The buildings were close enough, he could probably make it if he leaped far enough but where was she? And if she did get herself caught or trapped what was his liability to report it? She had a brother right? and he didnt think she had a mate or kits so that was shrug if anyone would notice or miss her. He wondered if he follow her into the twoleg nest- after all what could go wrong? And if they got trapped in the twoleg cave he would just eat her first to survive and have a good excuse to do so, but it wouldn't help his image as a possible cannibal.

The window was slightly ajar, and it was just wide enough for Rhiannon to get in with barely a squeeze. Her large size was deceiving really; it had never been anything more than just the fluff of her fur, easily flattened when she needed to slip past things. It was just as she expected; this room inside was empty save for a few pieces of furniture covered by a white cloth, and boxes stacked here and there without any rhyme or reason.
She heard a sound from behind her and her ear flicked once. Was someone following her? Surely, they'd be just as much of an idiot sneaking into a closed space to try and start a fight. She ignored the sound, but leaped up onto a set of boxes, grey eyes narrowed towards the window she had just snuck in from. Who was there? Surely she wouldn't be the first to reveal herself, but another cat only meant a bystander or an enemy. She'd figure that out first before justifying anything with a response.

This she-cat really didn't hesitate - not only did she snoop inside the nest, she was perfectly content dropping right down inside it! How interesting - was this she-cat some former kittypet? was this her twolegs or perhaps more kin or a mate belonging to one and he was witnessing some forbidden return? how spicy. He backed up quite a bit before getting into a full blown sprint to launch himself off the ledge and throw himself at the metal-cage vine wrapped on the side of the twoleg nest. He narrowly missed the railing clattering and clunking ungracefully as his body banged on the fire escape. Alright, he probably could've gone about that a lot smarter, not gonna lie. He wasn't exactly keeping his presence unknown and he was now sore on a half his side; he winded down a flight or two of steps to get to the right window Rhiannon was at, finding out exactly what parts of him was sore from that landing.
Finally at the window sill, he plopped down comfortably in front of the gap. After that he needed a rest, and... as he looked around the window studying it defying gravity to his feline knowledge, a part of him wondered just how hard it would be to just... He placed a gentle paw on the window frame considering his potential options and the entertaining consequences.

"You know you should be a bit more careful," Rhiannon's voice was a melody, the lilt of her Scottish upbringing was evident in her tone, as the she-cat peeked back to the newcomer, grey eyes peering curiously at Uta. There wasn't a sense of aggression nor any hostility, just an amusement appearing on her face. It was strange how he had followed her here; most cats would leave it be. Having lived in the plains and the moors for so long, being in a confined space made her feel a little claustrophobic. Did this other cat feel this way too?
"Seems a bit risky to follow someone straight into the trap, don't you think?" her tone had an amusement to it, "mind introducing yourself before inviting yourself in?"
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Aug 7, 2021 20:29:30 GMT -5
Uta looked around the room for the owner of the voice spotting her light grey eyes cutting through the darkness and seemingly not at all mad he followed her to her, or this window that may or may not had some connection to her. Was she just some random cat who happened on a random window? Well that just sounded boring... but he could easily change that and give them a highlight of the day.
"risky to follow someone, don't you think?" / "mind introducing yourself" "Yup," the tom whole-hearted agreed with the first part of her statement, "and Nope" he saw benefit to exchanging names as he whacked his paw on the window and when it didn't fall, he got up to put both paws on the window and shove with all his might albeit he was not a heavy cat being on the slimmer side of lean muscle.

If Rhiannon could roll her eyes even more than she already did, they'd be rolling in her grave. What was this cat trying to do in the first place? Close the window? Trapping the two of them there? Didn't they realize there were other windows in the other rooms? She didn't think she was important enough to be hunted down by an assassin and frankly, he didn't seem like the kind of cat who'd be chasing her from heaven to hell from the loch or anything either.
Though Hywel always told her to be careful and well...let's just say she constantly forgot to do so.
"There's a latch over there," she gestured to the other side of the window with a bored expression on her face, "but if you're planning on trapping the two of us here, you do realize the door leads to the other room with....a window too...right..."
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Aug 9, 2021 23:08:57 GMT -5
Uta paused to locate this ..'latch' and indeed, it was on the other side. Well this was most problematic - how was either of them suppose to be entertained when he couldn't even mildly threaten her with entrapment? Or perhaps, the excitement was in being able to equally threaten each other.
The tom momentarily ignored her presence to slip under and in-between the window edges and sill. He stretched up on hind legs to find and fiddled with the strange design, some kinda slide-y stick thing with a stump on it, and why was it so small to grab on to? With ongoing frustration as it dragged out, there was finally a 'click'. His weight on the window, it plummeted and slammed down and he dropped from his lean, all four paws back on the window sill as he watched the window for a second as if it might magically reopen or otherwise move. Everyone likes a success story.
"So..." he turned back to her, "You said there was another exit?" he casually smiled so no problem with his actions or the risk he was taking - after all what is living if not endless challenges to overcome?

She rolled her eyes. What an idiot. "If you're planning on killing me you might as well do it now, come on, I'm waiting," she replied in a deadpan, her tail flickering from side to side, still lying on the box with a smirk on her face. Rhiannon had long been a negotiator before a fighter, but the idea of a cat trying to trap her and murder her was...amusing to say the least. Unsheathing her claws, she tapped them on the box, a rhythmic set of four.
"Come on mister," her voice had a mocking tone to it, "come and get me."
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Aug 13, 2021 0:35:23 GMT -5
Uta hopped on down, still sore and not hiding the annoyance on his face when his weight discovered gravity and it reminded him. It wiped off his face into a blank slate as he heard her words and titled his head curiously at her, oh good his kind of deadpan humor - his favorite. It put a smile on his face.
"Of course not, I might be a mur- tch" he clicked his tongue like he just remembered his groceries he came to the store for, "former murderer" he corrected as if it was something so silly to mistake. "But I am not a sloppy or ill-planned one." he met her eye contact, a glimmer of that entire past life could've flashed in them or at least the feeling of honesty was dripped off him and it so rarely did. "Besides - a cat killing another cat is so overdone and boring -" he looked around the room, before returning to her "I'd rather see you get torn apart by whatever two-leg, pet dog, or otherwise hidden monster lurks in their nest." Because that would've bene something new, something he hadn't yet seen and the curiosity, imagination and thrill of it was enough.

She snorted at his response, the tilt of her lips in a faint smirk as the amusement clouded her grey eyes. "Wouldn't you be torn apart too?" her whiskers twitched, "you're stuck here the same way I am. If a twoleg finds me, they'll certainly find you too, and I doubt they'd only go after me, you know."
Still, she wasn't ill-prepared. "They won't come back," she affirmed, "there's no one who lives here I'm sure; it's been dark for days, though once in a while, a group of them come around and walk through this place, but that's it. Most likely, the next time anyone's here we'll already be gone."
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Aug 17, 2021 3:41:36 GMT -5
"If it can make me feel alive, I don't care- I'll die happy." The thrill seeker answered without missing a beat, and usually happy smile just thinking about it - it was what he was always chasing after all. "Besides, I've noticed twolegs get real scared as soon you dig your claws or fangs into them." He held a paw out in front of him, looking down flexing and stretching out his claws. "They're always guaranteed to hesitate, keep their distance, drop you or let go - they're such scared oversized rabbits. And if you can't get away from that then the group is certainly better off without you." He put his paw down.
/ "They won't come back," / "If that's true it's certainly a disappointment." the remnants of the smile started to fade as he walked forward and glanced at the floors noticed the hints of dust collecting in the empty nest. "I never understood why or how they build their nest like this - I don't know if I should be impress their nest stills stands for so long or that so much building and effort to make something like this just gets abandoned ... perhaps for next twoleg to to take advantage of the free work." Something seemed to be on his mind, old memories and their complicated conflicting feelings.
(I definitely like the idea of Uta being a descendent from the Loch to the point i wonder if i should expand on it, make him born in it but separated and traumatize as a kit - if they had normalize sacrifices and cannibalistic feasts it would explain a lot about him xD)

A thrill-seeker, Rhiannon could understand. She had her own sentiments about things she'd die for. She was going to live forever or die trying, after all. "Sure thing," she spoke, her tone a deadpan as if unconvinced by the other cat, "so the purpose of your life is just to cause chaos and court disaster? Some goal." She didn't know much about the two-legs, having grown up far away from any civilisation for years. She didn't care much for the tone of superiority he had; surely she'd manage if she ever courted the same danger he did.
The other comment, she found herself perking up in interest. "I wonder that too," she replied, her grey eyes wide as they looked around, "there's nothing natural about the homes they build. Our nests are never this..." sterile? Organized? Completely removed from nature?
"–big," she replied lamely, as if unable to find the right words for her own fascination with the humans around here. They held a power that she could only dream of, and surely their artefacts and remants must hold a secret to their longevity, both as a species and as individuals.
(go for it!!! just remember to follow ze guidelines hehehe)

The deep thoughts that seemed to cloud his mind faded rather quickly, a skill he long since had control over down to a simple on and off switch in him. "Of course, whose to say chaos and disaster isn't the same mistress?" he played along, this time just full of hot air for the fun of it and for her unimpressed tone. She might just be fun to hang around just to tease and the confidence was not to be ignored with this one - it would be nice to have friends on his level again.
/ Our nests are never this... –big / "Defiant" he said after listening to her and staring at the cracks in one wall. "So bold of them, there's so much from these creatures we'll never understand, at least not in our lifetime." Yeah guess he was impressed if he was also so disappointed it was abandoned - to craft something like this and have the luxury to throw it away, they were on a different level and yet they couldn't even take a scratch half the time, "what a bunch of soft boispaws."
(lol maybe, if i do i'll run it by in dms. It would all be vague since unlike the plot cat he wouldn't remember much/know much details just 'i dont remember i was a kitten, we sacrificed, we danced, and cannibalized what more you want' and if it's convenient for the plot he could remember plotstuff xD)

She snorted at that. "Perhaps they are," a smirk appeared on her face. Chaos and disaster were practically the same, so the other cat really did have a point. He was amusing, to say the least; if he wasn't trying to murder her like this, she'd almost consider him to be a friend. He certainly had a type of humour she enjoyed.
"I suppose if you have that much power, you can abandon anything you want," she mused, as she continued to wander the house, already leaving the room, as if expecting Uta to follow.
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Aug 23, 2021 17:01:26 GMT -5
(bruh im having deja vu like war flashbacks and spent way too long finding this one quote xD )
/ you can abandon anything you want / He glanced at her leaving as turned to follow out of curiosity of what else this empty nest had in store for them but those words... He stopped. Why did those words feel... ' I'm afraid that if I stop talking that you'll leave and I really don't want that so please just stay for a little while at least.' Uta remembered the way he stopped to catch his breath and let out a soft breath - the unwarranted flashback made him sharply inhale a gasp like he'd been hurt and yeah, that dumb tom found a heart he didn't knew he had and was still hurting it to this day. What a cruel wicked game to play.
"So that's what it feels like..." 'to be abandoned' and here he thought he escaped unscathed. He tried to pull it together as he left through the doorway but damn did that kill the mood for him, a hint of hurt still lingered in those dark amber eyes.

Whatever was going on with Uta, Rhiannon didn't seem to notice, having already found herself exploring another room. The place was nearly empty, the couches covered by cloth and the furniture by a layer of dust, all but a couple of shelves and a large glass cabinet. Her tail lashed left to right as she peered at the cabinet, unable to see what was behind the glass due to the reflection. A frown upon her face, she glanced around, eyes catching onto a nearby box.
Turning to the door as Uta came around, she tilted her head, completely unaware of the hurt in the other cat's eyes. "Mind giving me a hand?" she asked.
Post by Shadowbladeღ on Aug 24, 2021 19:23:34 GMT -5
Clouded thoughts circled in him as he looked around the nest, just meaningless shapes to him and soft or shiny decor like a bird might collect to adorn their nest for amusement or to attract a mate with. So bird-brained and rabbit-hearted. He pawed and his claws caught into one of the cloth pulling it down with ease and in such unsatisfying way when he wanted to sharpen his claws on it.
/ Mind giving me a hand? / "Uh-huh" the tom agreed to without knowing what it was - this time with a stretch, he dug both pawfulls of claws into the couch's side and r i p p i n g down it and kneading a few time at the bottom to release his claws. That was much better. He flexed a paw of claws to mak such no scraps were stuck in them. "What is it?" he finally looked up and around wondering what he was needed for.

Rhiannon was like a magpie in multiple ways. She was clever. She had a natural grace about her. She was also attracted to shiny things, and human objects were the shiniest things in her mind at the moment. At the ripping of the sofa, she furrowed her brow for a moment, wondering what exactly Uta was doing, before glancing up again.
"I think humans keep their things in those glass cabinets," she offered, "and I'm curious. If we can move the box or...something, we might be able to get that open." She leaped towards the cardboard box, pushing it with her paws.

Uta looked at the cabinets as if assessing his interest and if it was worth his effort and time. He didn't know much about twolegs aside from getting glancing snip-bits from occasionally getting close up to their nest during his uh 'social visits' with a few kittypets over the years. He could recall one time a twoleg moving a wooden leaf-thin door to reveal a sectioned cubby space and thinking how clever it was to have hidden storage like that. This time they were clear, truly interesting but their low-view point wasn't confirming or denying what or if there was anything in them.
"Aight, I'm in" he easily agreed mimicking her actions to help push against it getting to the box to budge with their combined strength.
