Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Adderstar stood on the ground in front of the clan, next craned back to look over the sea of heads, fighting not to feel too overwhelmed. There were a lot of young cats here, and only a pawful of adults that could look after them. She shifted her paws as she waited for them to fall silent. Otterpaw caught her eye, nodded once, then threw back her head and yowled an ear-splitting "EVERYONE BE QUIET!"
She smiled gratefully at the silence and cleared her throat. "Cats of SwiftClan," she began, "we are here to honor several young cats who are ready for the next stage of their life. One cat among us has shown great promise as a teacher and I've been told he will make a powerful, confident warrior. Several kits are ready to begin their apprentice training as well. I welcome them all into the clan, and hope they will learn very much, very soon."

APPRENTICE to WARRIOR: Pinepaw → Pinespell (faeish )
IN-CLAN UPDATES: I forgot to make a plot thread for it oops so here's a brief summary of how Adderstar ended up leader: One day, Deputy Breezestep led the warriors away from camp on a mission. While they were gone, she mysterious disappeared into the fog; eventually they gave up looking for her and returned home. The warriors then discovered that Heavystar had departed while they were gone, and Adderstar was chosen as leader. Many interpreted this as her being chosen by the stars and accepted it; the truth of the mater is that she was the only adult among apprentices and they chose her to briefly take over until their clanmates returned, but liked the former loner so much they decided she should stay leader.
We are packing up to move to SummerClan, so keep an eye out for that!
Meadoweyes sat near the front of the gathering. She pinned her ears back when a cat screeched, and shook her head. Disappointment shifted along her features as she heard the way the ceremony was conducted. Her lips pressed together before she turned away, heading back towards the medicine cat den.
So many emotions flooded the feline. She wanted to help the new leader, but found herself questioning many things. Was Adderstar even the right cat to lead them? A real leader would have made the ceremony by the usual sayings. Yet... Adderstar didn't even seem to know them. On top of that.. she had yet to receive her lives...
With a dark cloud looming over her, she sought out Straybullet.
A swelling of pride puffed Pinespell's chest out as he was made warrior. There was nothing more that he strived towards than being a great asset to his clan, a good friend, and a loyal companion. With his naming, he felt he had already accomplished so much in the time he had been in SwiftClan, made so many friends, and challenged his fellow apprentices to do more. He knew these next steps would be more hard work and he awaited it eagerly, already to begin the uphill climb in front of him. Turning into the sea of faces, he sought out a friendly face to show his light to.
Adderstar gazed over her clan with a prideful tilt to her chin, but the brief ecstasy of her accomplishment started to fade when she noticed her medicine cat's reaction. Her relationship with Meadoweyes was.... uneasy, but it bothered her to see the healer was not celebrating with the rest of the group. Instead, she looked upset, and Adderstar did not have the time to fathom why.
The lean calico she-cat wove through the crowd and pulled up in front of Pinespell; looked him over once, twice, she then smiled. Joy warmed her from the inside and left her radiant. "Pinespell! Congratulations," Turtlepaw purred, "it's about time! You've been the best mentor here for moons."
As Turtlepaw came to congratulate him, he felt a new warmth spread through his bones. Hers was precisely the face he was seeking without even really knowing it. "Thank you, you're too kind." He purred back, deciding to touch his nose to hers; he was filled with much excitement and love for those around him in this moment, and more importantly felt a strong bond with the she-cat in front of him. "Maybe we can go out on a nice walk soon, catch some prey together. Without any mentoring." Pinespell finished with a light chuckle, a genuine smile lighting his face.
A surge of excitement flooded her from ear to tail tip. "Y-yeah! We should do that. I've gotten much better at hunting -- and fishing -- since you first taught me," she assured him. Turtlepaw was proud of how good she'd become at hunting. It took a lot of hard work and patience, and she wasn't perfect yet, but she was finally feeling somewhat competent. Enough that she wouldn't embarrass herself trying to hunt in front of Pinespell.
