Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Location: SpringClan Items to Find: squirrel, rabbit's foot, heather, lavender, honey, tansy, thyme, something blue, river stone, something special Predators in Area: deer, foxes, badgers, dogs, large birds such as eagle, hawks and falcons
The black she-cat with white spirals glanced down at her son, soft gaze in her eyes reserved solely for those of her blood, and turned toward the group of apprentices that accompanied Eostrixkit. “Now, this is meant to be in good fun. Competition has never hurt anyone. When I count down to 1, everyone will head off in their chosen direction and begin the hunt. No matter how independent you may feel, please do not stray too far from your escort! These are the items you will be looking for...”
Northernlights rolled her neck, tail curling lightly around her young son.

Dappledglacier watched as the young cats got ready to race off in excitement. She was glad that she was going to get to accompany at least of one her children on the scavenger hunt. Warmpaw was probably the most clumsy of her children, but she loved him all the same "Good luck" she purred warmly, her blue eyes scanning the sky. Having a kit out this far from camp made her a littler nervous but with so many adults and apprentices around it would probably be fine. complacentdevil
Rowanstrike decided to stick close to Northernlights to assist with the guarding of Eostrixkit. It was a better plan then just sitting there confused. It was supposed to be a kits and students event, one where the warriors sat back and just kept things contained. Easy, right? Wrong. Oh, how wrong they would be.
"Well, don't mind if I do," Rosemarypaw said awkwardly as, after Northernlights' countdown, no one actually moved. She was in no hurry. Games like this were fun but she was an old soul. That being said, she hated waiting around more than anything and would always take the first chance given to get moving and explore.
"Something special... Hmmm..." Naturally she gravitated toward the most difficult, or perhaps most easy, item to find. If she played her cards right, she may just be able to knock out all the those last three requirements - something blue, river stone, something special - in one single item. The fluffy gray-and-white she-cat thus gravitated toward the water, dark eyes the same brackish hue of the tumbling waves.

Warmpaw had stayed mostly by his mother's side on their travels to the hunting grounds, hopping along happily beside her. He listened politely to Northernlights' instructions, making sure to stay on his best behaviour around the heir. He couldnt bare to make a fool of himself around someone so important, and even still he didnt want to worry Dappledglacier either. The ginger apprentice purred at his mothers words, butting his head against her shoulder with a quick thanks before hobbling off after Rosemarypaw, "Hey wait up! Maybe we can look together!" he suggested, catching up with the she-cat on uneven paws, "What item are you looking for? I can help you look if you want, better than looking around in for some weeds by myself," he chuffed, his tone light and humourous.
Rosemarypaw was unperturbed by Warmpaw's arrival at her heels. In fact, she wore one of those suspicious smiles, almost like everything was going according to plan. As WinterClan pureblood and practically royally, she was born with servants who hung on her every word, and she hoped Warmpaw would feel that void since none of them were there.
"Yes, I'm looking for a very rare item that will satisfy three of the items we are supposed to look for if we play our cards right," She purred, turning her dark gray eyes to face her companion. Like her father, Silverfury, she had a leader-like, intimidating aura about her, although few had ever seen her act in aggression, "A legendary stone used for divination of the supernatural sort: A seer's stone." complacentdevil

"Doesn't sound so special to me, but if you think it is, I'll help you look," Warmpaw mewed, the large ginger tom was rather oblivious to any insinuations the other apprentice was trying to make. "Think itd be buried in the dirt?" he wondered aloud, looking about them with a flick of his tail, "I'm pretty good at digging, dont mind getting my paws messy," he offered, liking the idea of finding three of the items in one.
@samiam Jadiecomplacentdevilracerѕнαdow✩ so what should we have happen in our patrol? Also they gotta find 10 items total, so even if something is blue and special it doesn't count for both, but that'd be a fun argument to have at the end! Oh and they can work together as a team, or individually collecting each item.
Rowanstrike watched as the two students began looking. He wasn't the most social cat and really, really sucked at his social skills so to be left standing next to Northernlights, meant there as an awkward tension between them. He definitely wasn't speaking first, just what was he supposed to say? The large, fluffy, intimidating looking tom eyed the kit wit their group, confused as to why he hadn't taken off to joining on the hunt yet. His natural look as that of mean or intimidating, even though he didn't mean it, he just has rbf, always has. So really if Northernlights scolded him for staring, or more correctly glaring, then he really shouldn't be surprised.
[ most of this group are made of apprentices and warriors, we could have them close to a fox den with cubs, that could be an interesting and dangerous adventure for them all and give the students some practice against a fox driven by a different kind of desperation ]
Northernlights had registered Rowanstrike's expression and didn't think a thing of it, contrary to what many others experienced with the surly looking tom. Many in WinterClan had the same affliction – a lack of humor, an inability to smile, an unwillingness to comply with anything other than disappointment – so she'd been accustomed to such ways. Being born and raised in a clan that was more ice cold than their wintry encampment was a great tutor for the poker face.
"You must not believe in magic, then," Rosemarypaw pursed her lips, slightly annoyed by Warmpaw but it only lasted a moment. She was well aware that her passions were of the unusual sort. Most cats didn't mess with magic or ever feared it, that's part of why the demons were treated the way that they were. Magic was theoretically limitless, which was really scary if you thought about it too long. No one liked the unknown especially that which they could not control, "But no matter, the stone will change your mind when we find it. To be fair, it's actually not that special of an item. Any stone with a hole through it will do. The problem is that they are like, super rare, dare I say one in a million... BUT! I have a good feeling we will find one today. It's hard to believe that we are just doing a harmless scavenger hunt, Wintrystar always has an ulterior motive."
Rosemarypaw's dark gray eyes combed the riverbanks as they continued to walk past. Nothing was standing out to her yet except for a turtle lounging on a stone at the water's edge, but she was still very optimistic, "Thank you for offering to get your paws dirty for me, Warmpaw, it's a nightmare to keep all this fluff in order once it gets wet."
Wait... a turtle? Since when were they out and about this time of year, much less this deep into WinterClan territory? She stopped suddenly and just stared at it for a long time. Turtles were long-lived creatures and, since they didn't really have any predators, mostly represented peace and harmony. But to Rosemarypaw their advanced age meant that they had a very special wisdom and understanding that the short-lived feline would never achieve naturally.
@samiam Jadiecomplacentdevilѕнαdow✩ Sounds good to me, maybe the momma fox spots them first while coming back from hunting for herself and kits, and while they're carrying the kits to safety, tossing them in the nearest den hole, they find the fox kits?
Rowanstrike wasn't clan born, and honestly missed some clues that went with growing up in a clan. But many stayed away from him for his naturally glaring face and intimidating posture and appearance. It'd helped him during his time as a rogue and then as well as when he was a prisoner of the clan. It made sure cats didn't mess with him, but also left him with no social skills, like at all. Social skills had always been his brother's department and now that the tom was missing, Rowanstrike was at a loss on what to do and how to act and what was expected of him. It honestly didn't help that they were in a such a cold clan like WinterClan, few were the most social of creatures and the ones that were didn't come close to him because of his natural glare.
The tom went through the list of what they were supposed to be looking for in his head. Squirrel, rabbit's foot, heather, lavender, honey, tansy, thyme, something blue, river stone, and something special. A squirrel and rabbit could be easy to track down especially this close to the SpringClan border, the rest were a little odd since some of them were herbs. Was...was this really just a way to help collect herbs for the Witch and Pupil? Smart, but didn't work the greatest when you have cats like Rowanstrike who has no idea what they look like to locate them. His eyes darted around the area, maybe he could find something blue.... The tom looked towards the kit, this was supposed to be about the kits right? The whole festival was all about new things and kits were basically the newest thing in the clan, so it made sense to him. Crouching down, trying to put a smile on his face that wouldn't scare the little one, Eostrixkit, would you like to help me find something blue?" He was completely ignoring the students, not wanting to deal with that disaster. Maybe he could sneak off with the little one and leave the mayhem of the students to Northernlights.
