Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

the construction is finally slowing down and Primal Instinct decides to go and investigate some parts of their new home. "You know, this has always been here. But it's never felt as real as it does now." Venti sighed to his small patrol group as they neared the edge of the dock. The sea had always been there, but it was never really something they bothered with. They didn't have to until now. And now the twolegs had come in and built buildings for cargo, docks for boats to anchor, even seating areas for fishermen to come fish. The salty sea air screamed promise as Venti leaned down to take a drink of the water before immediately spitting it out. "Bleh... It certainly isn't suitable for drinking though."

"I think I will take your word for that." The orange and white tom looked at the water with slight disgust before looking around the docks, "The view isn't all that bad though and I thought it would look a lot worse than it is. Think there will be fish worth hunting for? Also...how does someone even catch a fish?" Felix-kun wasn't much of a swimmer himself and hadn't eaten fish in his lifetime that he remembered. Fish sounded interesting to the tom and wouldn't mind catching a fish if it wasn't too hard to do. Honestly he loved the smell of the ocean but wasn't all too sure if he actually liked this place or not yet.

"It's not so hard to do, I can show you how, if you'd like," Acacia Blair said to Felix-kun, peering over at the rolling tides of the ocean. A gift of warm air sent dust up her nose and she sneezed, taking a step away, "... Although we'd do better starting somewhere else. If the water isn't safe for us to drink, then I doubt any fish we catch would be safe to eat, either."

Hmm. Shame all the Survival Groups were gone, or Venti would just go ask them how to catch a fish. Course, a few members of Swiftclan could, not that they've been seen for some time. It was a relief that Acacia Blair seemed to know, not that he expected her to teach a whole clan how to fish. "True. But we won't really know until we try one. It's not like we're in a place to be picky." With the city finally calming down, there was a spark of hope in the League's eyes, but Venti was all too aware of it. In the distance, a horn blew and something began to breach the horizon. "Let's keep going and see if a good opportunity to catch one shows up. The dock ends just right over there." Venti shook the specks of spray from his pelt as he led the pair. Sure enough, the wooden stairs of the dock disappeared into the white sand. It didn't feel right, he shook his paws.

Felix-kun nodded to Acacia Blair, "I wouldn't mind learning. Never a bad idea to learn to fish in case things get desperate." With that though he followed what Venti said followed the tom. The sand underneath his paws were different but not the worst thing in the world...just a bit off. Unfortunately Felix-kun didn't realize how funny he looked attempting to walk on the unknown foreign feeling of sand. His paws jumping sharply up as he walked the path unaware of his motions.
"I guess that's a good point, Venti..." Acacia Blair gulped, she really hoped that she wasn't going to be the one that had to eat the fish. She may be technically half dead already but she wasn't keen on being full dead, "Anyway... yes, I guess we should keep scouting."
The tortoiseshell she-cat followed at the rear of the patrol and couldn't help but giggled as she watched Felix-kun struggle with the sand. There had been a time in her life where she, too, had found movement difficult, back when she spent a season in SummerClan's territory. She'd had a different name and gender back then, but the memory was still a fond one, "Felix-kun, just relax and don't lift your paws so high. If you get the hang of it I can show you a fun game I used to play in SummerClan but you have to be very careful and quick to do it."

Venti resisted the urge to copy Felix-kun, though his own paws were getting pulled higher than he was used too. He was used to the ground being solid under him, whether concrete or dirt. This almost made him feel like he was going to slip through the world. "Careful and quick? What kind of game nee-" He started to ask, but jumped when he stepped on something sharp. Something was biting him and he kicked his paws up in a panic. Flipping and turning around, kicking sand up until it finally let go, an odd creature landing on the sand on it's back. It was orange and almost insect like, with long claws completely different from their own.

( Oh snap my comment never went through ;-; )
Felix-kun puffed up and stared to hiss as his eyes dilated in fear and rage. How dare this unknown thing attack Venti! Rushing up the trainee swatted at it to find the shell to be surprisingly hard under his claws. The orange being flipped over with the un intentional help from Felix-kun and snapped its pincher at the orange tom. Jumping out of the way his hiss became a growl as he spat at the ugly being. "I dunno what this is but I absolutely hate it."

Venti didn't expect Felix-kun to rush up and attack the creature. Even though the trainee was only trying to help, he took a step back that he quickly took back when the thing was gone. His fiery pelt beginning to smooth itself back down, he approached it with wide eyes. "I wonder what it is. I've never seen anything like it." Even though his paw still hurt from it, he swatted at it curiously as it tried to right itself. "It looks like a big orange spider or something."
"I saw some of those in SummerClan," Acacia Blair said, careful to keep herself well and far away from it, "It's called a crab. I don't know how, but there's a way to open its shell and eat it. It's supposedly super good and doesn't taste anything like a bug... but I wouldn't eat it then and I certainly won't eat it now."
She squeaked as Venti batted at the crab, the little creature landing at least two tail-lengths away from her but still much too close in her opinion, "Let's just keep moving."

At least for the "crab", Venti's bat let it get back onto it's legs. A bit shell shocked, it stood there for a few moments before it began to dig back into the sand. Perhaps getting ready to attack another victim, Venti thought as started to walk away from it. "Okay. Definitely more last resort than the fish here. Well depending on how they taste." Acacia was right though, it was better for them to get moving before another one decided to strike.

"I will never like those blasted things! What a terrible creature to exist...why do they even exist." The trainee made a face of pure disgust as they started their way away from the sand devil. "You know I am not sure how I feel about this place. It's definitely not my favorite place that's for sure."
"I bet you they look at us and thing the same thing," Acacia Blair replied to Felix-kun's comments, still careful to stay well and clear of the small crustacean, "But yeah, I don't think this'll be the best place for us to hunt, especially not when the city is so full of mice and such. I am curious about what the fish here taste like, though... The water the live in is very different from what we normally drink. I wouldn't recommend tasting it."

"Uh, yeah seconded." Venti rubbed the back of his paw against his bottom jaw, the bitter taste of the water still in his mouth. It was a good thing the city had better water supplies, he couldn't imagine having to drink this stuff again. As the trio walked, there weren't a lot of places to actually fish. Either the water was too deep or the fish would not come close enough to the shore for them to catch. That and the sand was hell on his senses. If you took each step fearing you'd step through the earth, you'd get tired of walking too. But then they reached a boardwalk, and Venti all but ran towards it. Twolegs were spaced out leaning against the railing, holding long sticks that had some sort of spiders web falling into the water.
Acacia hadn't seen a lot of twolegs in her life and was immediately on edge, a stark difference when compared to the much more care-free Venti. She was much more at home in the sand with the crabs and glanced back nervously before taking a step onto the boardwalk. She stood so close to Venti that she fur brushed against his and she was giving off waves of anxiety.
"Are you sure it's safe to go here? There's a lot of twolegs," She meowed, pawing at the strange ground beneath her paws nervously, "This might be the border to their territory, it sure seems like it, anyway."
