Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She'd come back from a scout mission to find things a mess. Chimerasatr had stepped down, Beestripe was now the leader, and her beloved was no where found. And something about a SkyClan, wherever or whatever that was? The she-cat was mostly upset about her lover being missing, even though they weren't officially lovers. Lovearrow had staked her claim on Chimerastar, all others could fight her for it! Stepping into camp, furious and raging she hollered out. "Where's Chimerastar?!?!" StarCaln above, she left for one month for this simple mission and comes back to this!
Cradlegrave watched Lovearrow barge into camp with disinterest. That disinterest morphed into growing horror as he realised that he was actually supposed to try and resolve this kind of thing, now that he was deputy. In the past he'd always relied on a good ol' throat slitting as his main method of conflict resolution, which didn't seem like a very good approach right now.
In the spirit of escalation, Cradlegrave padded up to her, body language as relaxed as he could make it. "Welcome back, Lovearrow," he said, as if there was no commotion at all. "Chimerastar is..." He looked to his left, then to his right. "....I got no idea where he is. Maybe come back in an hour or somethin' like that."
"If only I realized I had gone missing, maybe I could have escaped for good," the ginger leader - former leader - drawled as he entered the camp not far behind Lovearrow. "And it's not Chimerastar anymore, it's Chim at best." He hadn't officially reclaimed his warrior name yet, so the best anyone had to go with for now was his nickname.
Walking at his side was his sister, Rustyheart, who he had asked to accompany him for no particular reason at all. "Now, do you need something?"
Rustyheart was almost as grumpy as Chim could be. Though perhaps irritated would more explain her current mood, expression seemingly annoyed for no reason at all. She didn't mind spending time with her brother, though she did often consider bonking her older sibling on the head, for various offenses.
Lovearrow hadn't ever interacted with Cradlegrave so was at a lost as to who the cat even was. But she cared nothing about him, especially since he knew nothing about her beloved. With a huff and a low growl, she pushed past the tom and started for further into camp in search of someone to explain what in the world was going on. That is, until she heard his voice from behind her. StarClan above, how she'd missed him! Practically melting, the she-cat turned on her paws and scrambled to her beloved's side, purring at the mere sight of him after so long. "Chimerastar!" In her haste to get to the tom who's forever hold her heart, she'd knocked aside both Cradlegrave and Rustyheart, paying neither of them any mind. Her eyes were only for Chimerastar.
"Hi," he muttered, gruff and embarrassed at Lovearrow's quick embrace. StarClan, he had let this go on for too long. At least he was putting an end to it now. He carefully extracted himself from her and stepped back.
"Look, I need to go meet up with Pygmyprawn. But I brought Rustyheart here to spend some time with you, and," he glanced at Cradlegrave, "him as well, I guess. Why don't you three go settle down somewhere and talk? I'm sure you've got lots to discuss... like your kits, Lovearrow, and your love lives. Okay?"
Cradlegrave's eyes widened, and he began making throat-slitting gestures and shaking his head behind Lovearrow's back. YOU deal with her, he mouthed, pointing at Chimerastar.
"I'll come with you!" She wasn't letting him out of her sight, especially not until she'd gotten the answers she wanted. StarCaln above, these other cats could follow along for all she cared! But Lovearrow had to know if the rumors she was hearing about him having proposed to another she-cat were true. She couldn't live with herself if they were! "Besides, don't you wanna hear about my mission and my kits?"
“No. Tell Rustyheart, she loves to hear about missions. And Cradlegrave adores kits.” Chim didn’t respond to the deputy’s frantic look or look back at any of them as he walked away again.
"NO, I CAN'T STOP AND CHAT," Cradlegrave said, raising his voice so that Chim could hear him even as he was actively trying to run away. "I need--there's somethin' that--I gotta go and..." He paused briefly, before his shoulders sagged. "Oh hell Lovearrow, I can't keep this up. Your man Chim might be...He might'a gotten hitched with someone else while you were gone. But y'know, you should probably ask him yourself 'bout it and definitely not me."
"HE WHAT?!?!?" She paled in horror and then turned scarlet red in anger. Her white fur a blossoming of cherry red and her eyes nearly bulging out of her sockets, her breath coming in pants and her paws rounding on Chimerastar. Lovearrow stepped forward straight into his face and screamed for all to hear. "WHO?? WHO THINKS THEMSELVES WORTHY OF YOU IN MY PLACE!"
Cradlegrave nodded to himself sagely. Another job well done. "On that note, I'm goin' to leave now to....do a patrol, or somethin'. Far away from here. Yup. Bye now."
Chim snarled and shoved Lovearrow backward and out of his face. "Cradlegrave, you're not going anywhere," he growled, "and Lovearrow, get a hold of yourself." The ginger tom could tolerate a lot, but someone screaming in his face was taking it a step too far. "Now, you're going to listen to me for once in your life. You're going to sit here, and you're going to talk to these two fine warriors, and you're going to forget about me. If you've paid any attention at all, you know this is my sister. I brought her here for you. Understand?"
His half-gaze searched hers and found it unlikely, but he no longer cared. She could fall in love with anyone at all as long as it wasn't him.
"For...for me?" What? Her heart was slowly breaking at hearing Chimerastar angry with her. Tears were coming to her eyes and she could just hear the echoing in her heart of he doesn't want me, he truly doesn't want me. Over and over again it went, and she sniffed. Why didn't he want her? Why?
Cradlegrave, unsure of what to do, stiffly patted Lovearrow on the shoulder with his tail. "There, there," he said, with barely inflection in his voice at all. "Y'know, Chim's pretty rugged 'n all, but personally I? ...I mean, his sis is right there. And single."
